Milky Rose has a lot of things in her design that totally cater to my tastes (that hair!! The ruffles!! The eyebrows!!) so she’s really fun to draw! Also I like her in GoGo because she has her heart in the right place and learns to soften her attitude a bit <3

The month: October. The day: 10. That means we have once again hit Misumi Nagisa’s birthday! At just 14-15 years old in the main series, and for all eternity unless they ever do a “grown up precure” series for like, the 20th anniversary or something, Nagisa is the embodiment of the original spirit of the Pretty Cure series: an ordinary girl. She lives with her parents and little brother, with whom she squabbles but she still loves them all. Her great loves in life are lacrosse, food, and hanging out with her friends, especially her partner in saving the world, Honoka. She just wants to live life to the fullest but she will not tolerate anyone making trouble for innocent people. When she transforms into Cure Black she is an unstoppable force, especially when partnered up with Honoka, but if they do get separated she’ll move Heaven and Earth to reunite. (as seen in FWPC 42) Because she’s part of the original duo, she holds an exalted place in the extended Precure pantheon, which at the time of this writing is up to 69 main Cures, and her voice actress Honna Yoko is always happy to reprise her most iconic role. So you can be sure that Nagisa will continue showing up in stuff for many years to come. Happy birthday to her!

My friends, it is September 9 (at the time of writing) which means it’s time to once again wish a happy birthday to Kujou Hikari, AKA Shiny Luminous of the Max Heart Pretty Cure team!

Hikari was a fascinating character. She was born as an empty shell, just the Life of the Queen of Light, waiting to be reunited with her Heart and Wills to be reborn. However, as the show progresses, she develops her own identity and is torn between the life she’s created and friends she’s made, and her responsibility to revive the Queen and save the Garden of Rainbows. It was fun to watch her grow into herself throughout the course of the show.

If we set her age in at the start of the show at 13 (ignoring that she was conjured into existence at that point), then if Hikari had aged in real time she would be about 30 today. Feel old yet?
