Milky Rose has a lot of things in her design that totally cater to my tastes (that hair!! The ruffles!! The eyebrows!!) so she’s really fun to draw! Also I like her in GoGo because she has her heart in the right place and learns to soften her attitude a bit <3

Disney Princess Precure!
I know people have tried this concept before, of them being magical girls, but I wanted to be a bit more specific. I wanted to see all the princesses from the Precure/Pretty Cure season I felt they would best fit in. Didn’t want to go too into it because I have other projects in the works, so I admit these are just traces with some edits here and there to fit them. Color was picked from their official art.

Happy Birthday Honoka!
Today is April 4, one of my favorite days of the year! It is Yukishiro Honoka’s birthday! Honoka is, of course, Cure White of the original Pretty Cure duo and as I have said on many an occasion, my personal favorite character in the franchise. I admire her spirit, her enthusiasm, her intelligence, her kindness, and her devotion to her friends. She had many stand-out moments in the two seasons she was in the limelight, including her infamous fight with Nagisa, getting leading parts in the school plays, two Science Festivals, and a birthday with her parents interrupted by some would-be robbers. She was ever an ally to Nagisa and her crush on Honoka’s childhood friend Fujimura Shougo, constantly encouraging her friend to confess her feelings. She found love of her own but got her heart broken twice when Kiriya turned out to be a denizen of the Dark Zone and then when he came back, only to die for real when they defeated the Dark King. She took charge of a squad of secondary cures in All Stars DX3, and in All Stars Memories she tended to an age-reverted Nagisa with everything she had. Honoka stands proud as a veteran Precure, continuing to lead and inspire both on and off the battlefield. In the real world, her character can clearly be seen to have inspired several later cures, including her immediate successor Mai, and her scholarly traits would be adopted by many blue cures, with their own twist. So as always, happy birthday to Honoka!

The month: October. The day: 10. That means we have once again hit Misumi Nagisa’s birthday! At just 14-15 years old in the main series, and for all eternity unless they ever do a “grown up precure” series for like, the 20th anniversary or something, Nagisa is the embodiment of the original spirit of the Pretty Cure series: an ordinary girl. She lives with her parents and little brother, with whom she squabbles but she still loves them all. Her great loves in life are lacrosse, food, and hanging out with her friends, especially her partner in saving the world, Honoka. She just wants to live life to the fullest but she will not tolerate anyone making trouble for innocent people. When she transforms into Cure Black she is an unstoppable force, especially when partnered up with Honoka, but if they do get separated she’ll move Heaven and Earth to reunite. (as seen in FWPC 42) Because she’s part of the original duo, she holds an exalted place in the extended Precure pantheon, which at the time of this writing is up to 69 main Cures, and her voice actress Honna Yoko is always happy to reprise her most iconic role. So you can be sure that Nagisa will continue showing up in stuff for many years to come. Happy birthday to her!
