no, it’s not that he’s your rival. in fact, sunghoon is nice. he takes the subway to university with you everyday despite living on the whole other side of the city. he sends you notes if you ever miss a class without even asking, drops by with your favourite snacks and drinks with little notes that remind you to stay hydrated. park sunghoon is actually very nice. so, falling for him was inevitable.
however, despite all his good qualities, sunghoon keeps breaking your heart.

heeseung stares at you, tongue tied. there’s grief gathering up in the corner of his eyes, as a lump in his throat, a hollow part in his chest. his fingers wrap around your wrist tentatively, trepidation lingering in his touch. amidst terror and uncertainties, his eyes find yours, begging you to not leave. there’s a stirring in his soul; a restless, wild anticipation as the next words slip off his tongue. “i love you.”
“Hey Y/n? You packed and ready for the road trip tomorrow,” Jake, your best friend, asked, shoving chips into his mouth as he talked on the phone.
“Mmm, I am. Is Heeseung and his girlfriend coming along too,” you reply, stirring the food in the pan
“Yeah, so is my boyfriend. I think Jungwon is coming, but you haven’t met him yet. Is your little brother coming with or did he decide that he didn’t want to come with?”
“Niki? Yeah he’s coming, he’s also going to bring his best friend, so there’s gonna be quite the crowd. Have we decided what we wanted to do, besides the obvious?” You turn the heat off and begin making rice to go with the bulgogi stir fried.
“Mmm, some of us were discussing if we should travel along the coast and camp on the beaches. We could have nightly bonfires, it’ll be fun, but other’s would rather sleep in a hotel and drive along main roads to sightsee. What do you think?”
