Weekly Progress : Working on Yourself

This series is to make it easier for you to become the person you want to be. Keep in mind that I’m not a therapist, and take my suggestions as you would from a friend.

Try achieving these goals every week. They’re short and doable, and it’s to increase your confidence, step by step.

To keep things simple, we only have 3 categories (external, mental and physical) which will have one goal each.

These are posted every Thursday.

External :

-Compliment someone today.

- It should be something that they can control, such as their shoes, how nice their hair looks, how they did a good job on X project.

- Refrain from talking about body shape, facial features (acne, etc), even if it’s positive. It could be a trigger point for them.

Mental :

- Sit cross legged on your bed as you face south east.

- Set a timer for 5 minutes.

- Close your eyes.

- Take deep inhalations and exhalations.

- Don’t respond to notifications and don’t get distracted for 5 minutes.

Physical :

- Do 10 minutes of light stretching.

- YouTube has a lot of options, choose something that adheres to your level of strength.

- Yoga with Adrienne, Satvic movement, Yoga with Bird are some good options.

Little Johnny wants a cake for his birthday. Selfish brat.

HOW DID THAT NOT STICK?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

@aibhilin-atibeka

No that’s a legitimate question HOW

The preparation automatically flours the pan for you. There’s got to be a very fine layer of essentially unmixed-in flour and cocoa as the layer between the cake and the pan, due to dumping those ingredients in first. This is something you do deliberately (with or without grease) to make cakes turn out of the pan cleanly. (Mama always used cocoa powder to coat the pan when making chocolate cakes, so the color would match the cake and it wouldn’t have weird white spots.)

This is the best tofu I’ve ever had. I’m not even exaggerating. It’s crunchy baked tofu from this recipe, with about half a tablespoon of Adobo seasoning mixed into it: https://cookieandkate.com/how-to-make-crispy-baked-tofu/

This tastes like a really good chicken nugget. Please try it if you can, it’s life changing.

Tonight’s dinner is cronchy monchy tofu!

Hey runners (and walkers)! Thought this might be helpful :)

Shoelace Voodoo

The heel slipping one is awesome if you have to wear orthotics because it stops them from slipping round inside your shoe

Oh! I’ll have to try this

oh my god. oh, oh my god. the wide forefoot one… oh my god bless you you beautiful hero

Ian’s Shoelace Site – https://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/ – is the page for all these lacing patterns and more.

He’s got specific lacing advice for skates and tall boots and there are decorative patterns and I recently relaced my skate shoes for both a wide forefoot and less friction on the laces so it’s easier to tighten and loosen them but he also has lace-locking patterns so that shoes stay exactly as tight as you laced them the first time and it is just a VERY GOOD website.

Like. I’ve been buying shoes the wrong size because it’s often hard to find wide shoes but the lacing pattern for a wide forefoot means that my big hobbit feet actually fit into the previously too-tight running shoes and sneakers I had.
