DC Black Label Announces ‘Tales of The Human Target’ One-Shot Special
I’m still so unbelievably upset that we were ROBBED of this series.
Greg Smallwood pitched Midnight Sons to Marvel in 2017 but they passed on it. It haunts my dreams…
I just know this series would have been incredible
Tiny little problem I find now that I am re-reading and checking illustrations to point out the strenghts of the Lemire run.
EVERY PAGE IS SO GORGEOUS!
Seriously, Smallwood totally hit it off the park, there’s no page that doesn’t have something special.
He did this for the series: LOOK at how amazing it is. How the shadows of Khonshu’s eyes sort of look like a brainscan, How each one of the faces of the System has the exact same expression, but with just a tiny little difference where we can see that Left is Steven, Center is Marc and Right is Jake. The Shadows in Harrow’s face that sort of look like crescent moons, while the ones on Layla are a mask… the triangles that are both pyaramids and well, the fact that our heroes are three.
It is GORGEOUS and he puts the exact same thought in every single page of the Lemire run.
(Ok, so yeah, I am probably totally doing that part issue by issue, which means the Primer has just gotten at least 8 parts longer)
The Human Target #7, by Tom King and Greg Smallwood
Greg Smallwood redid Moon Knight #2 cover art (the Lemire run) for the show.
