In light of the really crappy news about ABC turning their back on the show and characters we’ve all just fallen in love with, I managed to get Chapter 3 finished.
I know I’ve found myself reading fic to escape the thought of not getting to see these characters get more episodes like they deserve

Dex had been pacing the floor in the dark for an hour whilst nursing the largest whiskey she could pour with the phone in her other hand. Her bare feet were starting to get sore from the circles she was walking repeatedly around the house.
She stared hard at her cell, as if her anger could somehow summon him. Sighing heavily, she tried Grey’s number for the hundredth time. It rang through to voicemail again.
Dropping to the couch, Dex gripped her phone slightly tighter at the familiar sound of his voice telling her to leave a message, throwing it down to one side when she felt her throat start to burn with the effort of holding back tears of frustration.

ABC really gave us a series starring Cobie Smulders as a bisexual marine veteran private investigator and her best friend/extremely slow burn boyfriend Jake Johnson who is an ex car-thief turned bartender I SAID THANK YOU!!!

This show feels fresh and new, despite the format being similar to plenty that have come before. None of the characters are perfect, friendships have their struggles, families face bumps in the road, and Dex’s flaws are laid bare for all to see.
But I adore the overwhelming love that Dex, Ansel and Grey have for each other (their little individual relationships within their unconventional family are brilliant).
I also love the way the cast interact as well. Seems like a fun set to be on and I REALLY hope we get more seasons to see this show get going as it deserves
So, having watched Stumptown episode 13 three times today, I can safely say it’s easily up there with my other favourite episodes ❤️
The scene above really made me smile, I’m not sure exactly why but their facial expressions were just great They came off like a pair of naughty school kids lol

It struck me that the degree of closure both Dex and Grey had gained from episode 15 was cruely torn back open in major style by the finale episode 18
Grey being messed around by his dad and essentially thrown back into some dodgy world he wants to stay away from made me so sad for him.
And Dex? Well, her mum was clearly the last person she wanted to see…and I feel like a whole can of worms has been opened where her emotional journey is concerned.
I hope if we get season 2 that these two are able to continue being there for each other. Sometimes it’s like they’re the only people they can rely on
I’m intrigued by how S2 is gonna pan out, honestly. And curious how any restrictions to filming due to the current situation will affect possible storylines etc

Hey guys I’ve not been around much - had a lot on IRL but I’m very nearly finished with Chapter 3 of my Stumptown fic ‘Crossing the Line’
It’s turned out a little longer than I’d planned but I hope you’ll like it I ended up re-writing big sections of it and it hasn’t been as easy as the first two.
I’ve also been busy rewatching Season 1 and solidifying my love for these characters and the show!
