There’s a trend called #GrisSwimsuit in the digital art world right now. The swimsuit is entirely fictional so I decided to make it myself.
The design was difficult to match, since the connecting bodysuit appears to be some sort of clear plastic material. Plastics rip easily when sewn and don’t have any stretch, even latex would need some sort of zipper. I decided to use a metallic power mesh, which both has the shiny quality, is transparent and has 4-way stretch. My mom gifted me a serger for Christmas but I haven’t set it up yet, so I had to do the whole suit with zig-zag stitch to maintain the stretch. I also worked without a pattern, just loosely based it off another bodysuit I have and made some adjustments. Super happy with the result!
