NECA Pan’s Labyrinth 2-pack: Faun and Ofelia
General
What is this?
This is a charity fanbook celebrating the animated series Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia.
Who is organizing this project?
This fanbook is being organized by me (Charles Tan),Colin Tan, and Ashley Simpson.
Will the book be physical or digital?
The book will be physical. Only contributors will receive both a physical book and a digital version of the book. There are no plans to produce a digital version of the book for sale at this time.
Where will the proceeds go?
Proceeds will be donated to the Anton Yelchin Foundation.
How is this project being funded/produced?
Unlike the fanzines that I had organized previously, production costs for this project will be funded by me personally. The goal is to donate all proceeds from sales to the Anton Yelchin Foundation.
So there will be no pre-orders?
There will be no pre-order period for the fanbook. Once the books are printed, they will go up for immediate sale. The actual online storefront is to-be-decided at this time.
Is there a limit to how many books are being printed?
Yes, because I am funding this project personally, there is a limit to how many books will be produced. The exact number is also to-be-decided at this time.
Will there be a second-run of books?
Most likely not, once the initial run of books are sold out, that will be it.
Contributor-related
Who can apply as a contributor?
Applications are open to artists, writers, and cosplayers.
Is there a theme?
Yes, the theme is perseverance in the face of adversity and fear. Or in short, bravery, we just wanted to get a little more specific.
When will applicants be notified if they’ve been accepted or not accepted?
Everyone who applied will be notified on February 11 and the days that follow. The notification process might take a few days due to the number of applicants. We do ask for everyone’s patience as we send out notifications!
How many contributors will the book include?
We are currently looking to have between 30 to 40 contributors. This is, however, subject to change.
Are there any content restrictions?
Yes, because Trollhunters is primarily a show for a younger audience, we will be keeping the content of the book the same as the shows: PG to PG-13, or the equivalents of your specific region.
Can contributors publish their pieces outside of this project?
Yes, once the store opens, contributors are free to do as they please with their respective pieces. Ownership of content belongs to their respective creators. We only ask that contributors do not share their pieces in full during the production period of the project (crops and previews are acceptable).
Are OCs (original characters) allowed?
Not as the primary subjects. Because this is a fanbook that is a dedication and celebration to the show, we would like its content to be reflective of that.
Does the portfolio site matter?
No, you may use whatever platform to host your portfolio that suits your needs. We are looking to review your body of work, not the website it’s hosted on.
I don’t have a portfolio, what should I do?
To put it simply, make one. As mentioned above, you can use any site to host your work, we recommend either Google Drive or Dropbox if you’re unsure about which platform to use. Simply input the folder link as your portfolio site and the specific links for your samples.
Do the samples need to be related to Trollhunters?
No, your samples should be what you think is your best work.
Is there a schedule?
Yes, please refer to the following blog post for our schedule!
