Fantasy Suite
An Adam Rippon/Gus Kenworthy Drabble. RPF.
So the day has finally come, when Adam’s longtime boyfriend Gus Kenworthy is set to go ask him to be with him the rest of his life. Ever since they met at the 2018 Winter Olympics the two have been inseparable. They have exchanged phone numbers and have even gone together for two years. Although two years is a short relationship Adam and Gus had both felt that they were meant for each other. As if they had crossed paths only to find each other’s soulmate.
Today Gus has a big surprise planned for Adam to take him to the fantasy suite at the beaches of Santa Monica, California. He rented out the entire room for the night and had laid out red roses on the bed and bought every single bottle of Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc and reserves them all. What Adam doesn’t know though is that Gus is planning to pop the question.

”Adam, I believe someone is here for you”. Vernetta Jameson editor in chief for Skating Fashion, the magazine Adam is writing for comes into his office and gives him the news. ”But it’s only 3:00, I told him 5:30 is when I get off”. Adam replied a bit irriated. So Adam makes it down to the office’s main entrance he was surprised to find Gus Kenworthy at the entrance. ”Gus, what are you doing? I don’t get off until 5:30. You know that”. Adam replied. ”Yeah, that’s the thing. Do you think you can arrange to leave early”? Gus asked. ”Leave early? Yeah, Gus just let me grab my things and go. Sure Vernetta’s going to love that”. Adam replies with irony in his voice. ”Adam, please just this one time. I may not get this chance again”. Gus pleads while giving Adam an unexpected peck on the lips. ”Gus, let me get back upstairs”. Adam sighed.

Gus hated that Adam had become a workaholic since his injury to his hip forcing him to retire from figure skating. He was getting old, and he knew that he wouldn’t skate forever but a part of him would never leave the ice rink. Gus knew that figure skating was Adam’s passion and he hated the day when Adam’s heart was shattered when he was told that he could never skate again. It broke his heart as much as it did Adam’s. Gus figured that working was Adam’s only way of coping with the heartache.
To Gus’ surprise, Adam came back down to the building’s main lobby came up to Gus. ”I’m ready”. Adam looked into Gus’ eyes with his sparkly green eyes and smiled. “Adam this is so great. I’m glad Vernetta let you off early”. Gus exclaimed as they left the building and into his car. ”It wasn’t easy”. Adam added. ”Look, I know she can be a tough cookie. But I’m glad she let you. You know, she must think a lot of you if she does that because she doesn’t do that for just anyone”. Gus explained.
As they got into the car, Gus starts up the car and Adam gives him his famous side eye and asks ”Gus, you never told me what this is about. Can you explain to me what is going on”?. Gus couldn’t wait to tell him but in doing so would ruin the surprise he had in store for him. ”You will see, very soon”. Gus replies as he was driving.
Finally, Gus and Adam arrived at a beach house in Santa Monica. ”Santa Monica? Gus, how am I supposed to get back to Los Angeles”? Adam asked irritated. ”Let’s not think about that okay, baby”. Gus added while kissing Adam on the cheek and blindfolding him with one of his neckties. ”Now, let me get you in”. Gus directed Adam out of the car and into the beach house and then into the fantasy suite.
As they entered the fantasy suite, Gus gently takes the blindfold off of Adam and surprised him with a bed full of roses and the fridge stocked all with Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc. ”Wow Gus, you did this for me”? Adam asked astonished all while fighting back tears. Tears he had been concealing since his figure skating career had come to an abrupt end. ”Yes, Adam just for you and for me. For us”. Gus replied with most certainty.
Later that night, after the two had finished dinner Gus decided that he would pop the question although he knew that Adam is probably tired and wanted to rest he decided that it would be best to join him in the shower.
As soon as Adam got into the shower and started the water, Gus followed and joined Adam he knew that it wouldn’t be best to startle him so he gently takes the soap and starts lathering it all over him. ”Adam, I got a very important question for you”. Gus said as the water hit both of their bare bodies. ”What is it”? Adam asked.
Gus then turned off the water, and got down one knee and proposed. ”Adam Richard Rippon, will you marry me”? Gus asked Adam in the sexiest way possible. ”Augustus Richard Kenworthy, Yes I will marry you. You make me the happiest I’ve ever been and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you”. Adam replied and gave Gus a long-awaited passionate kiss on the lips.
After the proposal, they spent the weekend together in the fantasy suite and drank all the wine and slept in the king-sized bed together as this marked the first of many beautiful moments together.
