Photo set of my artwork of the Covenant Empire Aliensfromthe Halo series.. The Covenant (especially the Prophets), are my favorite thing about Halo; the Prophet of Regret ( double crescent crown + “earrings” wattle piercings) being one of my all time favorite characters.

First Panel
Panels 10 and 11 from my in progress comic based on Halo: Contact Harvest, a novel written by Joseph Staten.

These two panels were both really cool and fun to work on as I attempted to create an “animation cel” like feel about it, but the most difficult.
I did both of these in the same PSD file; both with their own separate line art and base colors/shades/highlights/etc for Fortitude (red robes) and the Cleric. It made it difficult with so many layers, as I am still working with the ancient Photoshop 5.0 (from 1998) which actually has a layer limit and no ability to group layers into folders for organizational purposes like newer versions. It was literally like having two separate illustrations combined into one… which you can imagine began to bog down PS (the memory hog that it is).
To make matters worse, older versions have memory cap limits. Mine usually begins to freeze up at 1.8 million K with no ability to increase that limit.
Yes, I wish I had the money to upgrade. OTL

Spartan IV, Olympia Vale and Sangheili, Usze ‘Taham
Personal project: This is not a commission. Version One.
It’s finally done… I’ve been working on this off and on for a month.
I instantly fell in love with Olympia Vale in a very similar way that I did with Kat back before Reach came out, but with the added benefit that Vale fits in way too well with a personal fantasy of mine: acting as a liaison between the UNSC/ONI and the Sangheili. She is fluent in the Sangheili language and an expert on their culture.
Though my fantasy wasn’t involving the Sangheili, it was still rather coincidental and too good of an opportunity not to take advantage of pairing Vale up in a romantic interspecies scenario… since ya know, that’s my thing and all.
At the time I started this drawing I had just picked up the recent Halo novel: Hunters in the Dark and was hopeful that, based on the plot, there had to be a good Sangheili character I could pair her up with instead of just some random Elite. Turns out that there was not only someone decent to pair her with, but that they both clicked in the story further than I had even expected. That Sangheili being Usze ‘Taham, and interestingly enough, I wasn’t the only one who thought so.
I’m not considering this a OTP/Shipping thing since I don’t get involved in fandoms in that way, but I did find it pretty cool that Halo fans seem pretty positive/accepting of the concept of these two being paired together.
This is actually an ongoing project. I have a few more things planned with these two.

A female Ruutian Kig-Yar (Jackal) from Halo.
This was done for my boyfriend, H Falcon and also as a study of a female Kig-Yar for a larger piece that I’ll be working on soon for him.
This female Kig-Yar’s physical appearance is based on the description of Chur'R-Yar from Halo: Contact Harvest, though the female Kig-Yar I’ll be doing for Falcon will differ slightly in appearance to go along with his preference, I’ll still be strictly following this design/study as the book description is the most canon info we have on the females of the species.
Since there was no description for her outfit (a space suit was mentioned later on though for a specific scene), I played around with some concepts I liked. I did try a full body under suit, but I wasn’t happy with the way it looked, and wanted something a little more pirate looking

I’ve been working on this every day (except for a 2 day break) for 2 weeks… and I’m still not done with it… I ran out of time (wanted to post it before Halo 5 launch date tomorrow/in less than 3 hours) and did my best to finish up any lingering bits so they’d be passable and hopefully not too noticeable.
This is actually part of a larger illustration project I didn’t have time to fully complete, which will include Thel (Arbiter) and Locke. I hope to finish it, but with how long Chief took me, and being on a tight schedule, I’m not sure when this may happen.

About time I finally finished and posted this. If you’ve stopped by my deviantART front page any time in the last 2 years, you’ve probably seen the cropped unfinished version of this as a link button. I started it back in December of 2013, back before I had CSP, so 95% of this was done in PS 5.0 (1998 old ass version).
I figured with the Halo 5 hype and wanting to finish up several of my Halo related projects that have sat around in limbo for awhile, that I’d finish the remaining details on her (mostly her patterns, and I redid her nose and defined her hair) to post her specifically for today.
Oh, you didn’t know today was Cortana’s birthday? November 7, 2549 (11/7).
