Venture Bros. production art being given away at the special season 5 premiere screening at Cinemaworld. I’m glad we got a little mix of episodes though 2 are from Cremation Creek.

So I renewed my HBO Max account just to watch Matrix Resurrections. It was pretty meh, but I was still happy to see Neo and Trinity after so long. So whatever. But then I was stuck with a month’s subscription and wondering what else to watch.
I haven’t watched Adult Swim in a really long time and somehow I totally missed season 7 of Venture Brothers even being a thing! I binged it of course once I found it on HBO.
The thing that makes me sad though is how many people who like Marvel or DC, and superhero/villain crack AU’s, are totally sleeping on this amazing show. It’s all the best superhero/villain tropes, but adult themed and uncensored. It’s set in the same universe as the original Johnny Quest. And the way everything interweaves and the call back jokes that stretch across years of VB episodes is something to behold. A seemingly throw away character in one season can show up again years later. I love that. You think all MCU movies intertwine? VB doesn’t forget anything either.
The show has 7 seasons and one series finale movie still in the works. I have no shame trying to share this with anyone that I can. Here’s the video summary of seasons 1-4 below to see if this would also match your brand of humor. I beg you to give it a try if you even think that you might like it.
Finally… Here are my designs for the season 7 finale. This was one of my favorite episodes of the season too. Just a few thoughts below:
Hank, Action Man, and Phage- are all having some weird shared NDE. Oh and I think it’s pretty self-explanatory (if you listen to their conversations) what those costumes are referencing right ; )
Guild Blackout 01- these guys are like beefed up, super specialized guild commandos… Basically, Jackson Publick wanted updated guild commandos so now (based on his sketches) we have these guys.
Guild Choir & Drummer- the drummer is straight-up occult inspired, but check out the hooded cone head on the choir guy… That fella was inspired by real-life cloaked and hooded Catholics celebrating Semana Santa (Holy Week) in Spain!
Okay so that’s about it for now. Maybe I’ll post a few pages from the new Go Team Venture!: The Art and Making of The Venture Bros.book after this… Otherwise this will likely be my last VB post for a while. I hope you all enjoyed this season; we definitely put our blood, sweat, and tears into it for ya!

There’s not too much to say about these. Looks like I continued displaying photo reference where I thought it might be helpful- whether it’s to provide real-life examples of a hairstyle (in Dermott’s case), photo comparisons for likeness & costuming (for Dominique Dawes’s design), or additional gas mask options (as with Hank’s gas mask design).
FYI, some of the inks posted here are not quite finals (a lot of that red line art is rough line) that I then handed off to our inker to complete.
