AW: Do you have any particular message or theme that you would like to deliver to the audience of [Wolfwalkers]?
TM: Yes, I suppose ultimately the film is about seeing beyond the assumed boundaries of society and its expectations of us. That we can transform ourselves according to our true nature and find our “tribe”, as it were, without having to mold ourselves to fit our society.
Here is some rare concept art from back when originally, instead of a reboot series, we were going to get a continuation to it instead. And as you can tell by the concept art above, the sequel’s artstyle would’ve been very similar to the original series instead of a Carl Barks style they ultimately went with for the 2017 reboot.
The idea was scrapped due to complications with catching up on a 30 year old show for the new generation of children being considered too difficult. So, as a result, DuckTales: The New Adventures was ultimately cancelled during development and turned into the 2017 reboot that we know about today.
While not my favorite iteration of the ThunderCats, I know that the 2011 series holds a special place in people’s hearts.
As a ThunderCats Historian, I feel it’s my duty and privilege to obtain and preserve things from these series. So, I’ve purchased, scanned, and am now uploading, these in-studio model sheets from the 2011 series.
I’m hoping that I can also do so with the original series as well whenever they show up (and hopefully I’ll have the money to drop on them). These have a right to be preserved and enjoyed.
If you’re just a regular fan, you’re welcome to save, use, or publish these. Same goes if you run general animation sites/blogs/whatever.

Batch ½ of the remaining Plant Minion Model Sheets that were not yet posted. (All of these beauties appeared in our most recent Deep Woods episode, watch it hereif you haven’t already)
Hipplant- The five legged Plant Minion known scuttling away from danger in a quick yet elegant fashion. Liligator- Watch out for this Plant, it’s got a mean bite and it might see you later! Headcrabbage- This guy’s gonna try and jump on your head for sure, watch out if you wanna keep your face. Octobulb- One of the weirder plants. It’s like, got six arms or whatever. The Dangler - This fella just loves hanging from the ceilings and stuff, swinging around all day. And yes, he des look like an onion. Don’t approach him about it, he’s sorta sensitive.
Some model sheets created for Deep-Rooted Misunderstanding (Watch it here). Included are the three growth stages of the Plant Mother, Brawl (the most loyal of the plant minions), Flower (The second generation Minion that already appeared in Quest for the Northwest), a height comparison to out main characters, and of course our dear Grunkle Stan in his morning robe.
