+ After Hawks breaks the down, he takes you to the hospital. At one point, your mother tries to come into the room but Hawks won’t let her in. You are confused why he is being so nice to you. He explains his feelings you and more. Eventually, you have to speak up to your mother but you don’t back down this time.

I groaned as I woke up to my head throbbing. I tried to move but the little bit I did sent pain across my abdomen. I cried out and tensed as the pain persisted on staying. I felt something soft on my arm and finally caught on to a voice speaking.

“Hey, it’s okay. Sh. Just stay still for me.” I choked on a sob. “Hey, hey. Can I get a doctor in here?!” The person yelled. I was finally able to open my eyes and saw a blur of red. I blinked to clear my eyes and my gaze locked on gold irises. My gaze then moved to the red wings.

“Hawks?” I stuttered.

“Yeah, it’s me kid.” He looked behind him. I saw another figure round the bed as Hawks tried to calm me down.

“Miss L/N. Where is the pain?”

“My side and head.” I saw as another flare came through. I cried softly and heard another comfort from Hawks.

“Okay Miss L/N, we’re going to give you some pain medication and it should kick in very quickly.” I nodded. I just kept my eyes closed. “Alright, I will be back to check upon you in a little bit.”

“Okay.” I laid there making a sound of discomfort and pain every now and again. Hawks kept cooing comforts at me while rubbing circles into my arm and hand. “What happened?”

“Well, I came to check on you after my patrol and heard you fall inside your apartment. I had to break the door down to get to you.” He explained. “You’re wound got so much worse. Enough that it made you pass out and get sick.”

“Oh.” I looked away.

“Where was your mother?”

“Out. She took the advice of rest and relaxation from the doctor as a free pass to have a night out with her boyfriend.” I said.

“Damn. Did she know about your wound?”

“No.” I said. “Even if she did, it would be nothing but an inconvenience to her.”

“What do you mean by that?” He asked.

“She’s a very busy woman and it would just be something to disrupt her day. Throw off the schedule.” I said. “It’s nothing new. Her work is very important to her. So…” I shrugged.

“Really? That’s bullshit.” He said in disbelief. “You are her child. You should be her priority even if you are an adult! I bet you haven’t left home because she won’t let you basically.”

“That’s not true!” I exclaimed.

“It isn’t? Alright. How about this? Every time you brought up leaving home, she would say something about missing you too much or how the house would be too empty or the nice house would go to ‘waste’? Then after so many times of her saying this, you never brought it up again. She was guilt tripping you kid!”

“I um, uh…” I didn’t know what to say. He was right.

“Am I right?”

“I um,…Yes. You are.” I whispered.

“See?” He softened and reached up to cop my face. “I got all of that from meeting her once and your reactions to her. You need to…”

“That’s my child in there!” Both our heads whipped to the door. It was my mother. I gulped, immediately thinking of how mad she was going to be. Hawks must have noticed my apprehension.

“Hey, hey. It’s alright.” He brought my hand up to his lips. “Do you want to see her? Honestly?” He looked at me in question. I took a breath and shook my head. “Okay, I’ll get rid of her.”

“O-okay.” He got up and walked to the door. He walked out.

“Oh Hawks! You’re here? How are they?”

“They are okay. No thanks to you.” He said.

“W-what?” She stuttered.

“You knew they were hurt and you made them act like they weren’t.”

“I did not…”

“I’m not done!” I saw his wings puff up. “You made them feel like they couldn’t speak up about themselves and their well being. They have a major wound on their side and then you made them clean house. Not to mention, at the accident site you made a point to make sure the attention stayed on you.”

“This is ridiculous. Let me see them.” I saw her try and push her way past him. He spread his wings out so she couldn’t get in. “Hey!”

“They do not want you to come in. I won’t get in.” He said.

“I’m their mother.”

“Then you should have acted like it!” He snapped. “You should have been more concerned by then instead of treating them like a personal assistant. Now I’m going to have to ask you to leave.” He backed up into the room and She began to yell.

“I cannot believe this! This is my child! You are being ungrateful and I am very disappointed!” She screamed. “You’re the hero! You’re supposed to be protecting people.”

“I am.” He said before slamming the door. He stood there for a moment. I saw his shoulders rise and fall before he came back over and sat next to me. He finally looked up at me. “Hey, hey. Don’t cry. It’ll be alright.”

“I’m sorry.” I covered my face.

“No, don’t be. You have every right to be Upset.” He said, retaking my hand. This time he laid his wing over me almost automatically giving me comfort. I uncover my face and look at him.

“She is going to have a cow.” I said in a hoarse voice.

“She already is.” He glanced back at the door before tucking his wing in closer. I set a hand on it. We sat in a comfortable silence. He kept his wing over me and continued to hold my hand. I even began to gently run my fingers through his feathers.

“Why are you doing this? Why one you helping me so…personally?” He lifted his head from where he laid it to look at me. “Why did you show up at my home? I didn’t think heroes usually did after accident check ins.” He took a moment to gather his words.

“I don’t know how to explain it. When I first met you, I felt something spark inside of me. I felt this immediate need to get to know you, to be close to you. That’s why I showed up to your apartment. I knew you were hurt so it bothered me as soon as you ran. I couldn’t stop thinking about you for the rest of my shift.”

“Really?” I looked up at him in disbelief.

“Yeah.” He brought my hand up and Kissed it. Before he could say anything else, the door opened up. I jumped and looked Over. It was just a doctor.

“You are awake.” He smiled. “How are you feeling?”

“Alright.” I said before squirming. “I’m a little sore in my side and arm.”

“I would imagine.” He chuckled. He went through a few tests and did a check up before administering a dose of pain meds. “Now, you should eat and then get some rest. You shouldn’t have to be in here long. Hawks?”

“Of course.” He got up and they walked to the door after the doctor handed me a Menu.

“The mother was escorted out by security.” I barely heard the doctor say.

“I’m sorry for the disturbance.” Hawks said. The doctor waved him off.

“It’s alright.” He said. “We see the type all the time.” He looked back at me. “I just don’t recommend…” I couldn’t hear the rest. Hawks nodded before the doctor left. His phone went off and he groaned after looking it

“I’m sorry kid but I’ve got to fly. I’m needed across town.” He walked over. “You eat and sleep. I’ll be back later.” He went to walk away but I grabbed his sleeve.

“Promise?” My voice shook. He looked at me shocked before his gaze softened. He cupped my cheek and leant down. He gave me a sweet kiss on the cheek.

“I promise.” He whispered in my ear. He pulled back and rubbed his thumb over my cheek. “Bye.” I nodded and he went to turn away but stopped again. He reached for his wing.

“What are you doing?”

“Giving you a feather.” He held out the feather. “I can feel what my feather feels and can control it. So if you need me, give it a hard squeeze, okay?”

“Okay.” I gently took the feather.

“See you in a while, baby.” He walked out the door.

I ate and got some more rest after he left. I laid the feather next to my head on the pillow. I woke up the next morning and Hawks had yet to come back. From What heard, he got pulled into a major villain heist. I finally took notice that my phone was on the table. I turned it on and a crap ton of messages came through. Most from my mother.

“Great.” I muttered. I went through them, rolling my eyes. Just as I went to play one of my games , a call came through from her. “Hello?”

“It’s about time you answered you ungrateful little brat.” She Spat.

“Hello mother.” She mocked me before going on.

“I cannot believe you have done this. You were barely ever hurt and you have milked this. You have got the #2 hero wrapped around your finger and you are wasting his time. My god!” I gripped onto the red feather as she went on. “You have gone way too far to get attention. Do you know how this makes me look? You over dramatic Child. You…”

“Over-dramatic?!” I exclaimed, interrupting her. I am the one being over-dramatic?“ The rushed sound of my door being opened stole my attention long enough to see Hawks coming in alarmed. "I was majorly wounded mom! Bad enough that I should have gone to the hospital immediately! But because of YOU, I hid it and ran away from someone who was just trying to help me! You have me so messed up that I put everything else, especially you before myself.”

“How dare…”

“I’m not done! You knew I was hurt but you didn’t care enough or at all to even be the slightest bit concerned. I’m not even a child to you but more of a, a, an indentured servant. I have had enough of it.” Hawks sat down next to me.

“Is that so?”

“Yes it is. I am moving out.” I said with no hesitation. It was silent on the other line. I looked at Hawks and he was smiling. He took my hand that was holding his feather. He kissed it. I brought the phone down and put it on speaker.

“N-now my baby. there’s no need to go that far. We can work this out.” Hawks raised an eyebrow, both of us knowing what she was doing.

“No, you had 21 years to 'work’ on this. I am your child, not someone for you to order around.” I said calmly. “I am moving out and that’s the end of it.”

“Well don’t expect your…”

“And if any of their belongings are missing or damaged, I will hold you personally responsible, Mrs. L/N.” Hawks chipped in. I heard her gasping, trying to find something to say. “I will be coming to collect their stuff so be prepared.” He took the phone and hung it up. I let out a shaky breath.

“I just snapped.” I said. “She called me over-dramatic and I snapped.” He laughed.

“And I’m so proud of you! You stood up for yourself.” He said. “You can be your own person now.”

“Now to find out who that is.” I bit at my nails. He gently grabbed that hand and brought it down. “And to find a place to live.”

“You’ll stay with me.” He said gently. He wasn’t looking at me but I knew he was serious. “I meant what I said. I want to be close to you. I have more room then I know what to do with and you can have your privacy but I want you near.”

“Alright.” I said. His head shot up in shock.

“Wait, seriously? No arguments? I mean you are essentially moving in with a Stranger.”

“Yeah. You’ve already done so much and I feel I can trust you. Like a…Spark of something” I said. He chuckled before nodding. “Thank you, Hawks.”

“Keigo.”

“Huh?” I wondered why he gave me the random name.

“You can call me Keigo. My name’s Keigo Takami. I think it’s okay for you to know.”

“Oh, well… It’s a pleasure Keigo.” I said. I reached up and cupped his face. His winging puffed a little before relaxing, one coming Up and laying over me again. He nuzzled into my hand. “I look forward to the future I have with you.”

Why Did You Hide This? Pt. 1 - Hawks x Platonic!Reader

+You are the only child of a prominent business woman. You may be a young adult but your mother still has a tight grip on your life. There is an attack on your mothers business building while you are there. You and your mother both get hurt but you hide your injury when Hawks comes to help due to being a inconvenience to her. No matter how hard you try though, Hawks seems to notice something is off.

Chaos had consumed the building. Someone had set off either their quirk or a bomb in the building, causing bad damage. Parts of the building collapsed in. Thank god there was only 4 stories. Mom and I had been out on the balcony when it happened.

“Mom?” I called out as I pushed up and brushed rubble off of me. A stitch in my side made me pause a bit.

“Over here.” She yelled back. I went over and saw there was a piece of rubble pinning her down by her back. I ran over and somehow got the rubble off and turned her over. “Ow.”

“Crap. I need to go and find some…”

“No, do not leave me alone.” She grabbed my arm. Pain shot up and I gasped.

“Okay, Okay. I won’t go anywhere so just let me go.” She let go and I held the arm to my chest. I sighed in relief as the heroes showed up. I was kneeling and watching from my spot next to my Mother. She was groaning in pain from the wound that was on her side and expanded across her stomach.

“Please make sure they see you so they can come get me to the paramedics.” I looked down at her. I nodded. “ You’re alright, aren’t you? can’t have two of us hurt.” You would think it was sweet but I knew my mother. The underlying tone of annoyance in her voice told me otherwise.

“Yes mother.” I glanced down at the nasty cut on my arms and the one I knew was under my shirt. “I’m fine.” A shadow went over us and I looked up to see Hawks flying over. “Hawks! Hawks! Over here!” He paused in the air before diving towards us.

“Are you two alright?” He asked as he landed. I was about to answer but Mother get there first.

“No not really. I got hit in my side and stomach badly.” I stood back as Hawks knelt down to see.

“How about you?” He glanced back at me.

“They’re fine. They assured me. Please.” Again speaking for me again. I nodded and pulled down my sleeve as he looked over my mom.

“You know you are as handsome as they say.”

“Well thank you ma'am. I like to think I am.”

“Oh you definitely are.” I rolled my eyes.

“Alright, I’ll be right back. It’s not safe for me to fly you out with your injuries. I need to go get someone who is more suited. I can take you out though since…”

“No! I need them to stay with me.” Mom exclaimed. He paused but nodded.

“I’ll be back.” He stood up and told me. “I’ll be quick, I promise.” I nodded with a tight smile.

“Thank you.” I said before he took off.

“He’s dreamy.” Mom said.

“Mom.” I groaned. She waved me off. We waited and true to his word, Hawks came back quickly with help. They all got us out and to the safety beyond the fire trucks and ambulances. The paramedics immediately got to Work on my mom.

“Don’t get in the way, YIN. Let them do their jobs.” She told me while I was already standing out of the way. I nodded none-the-less and winced as my side throbbed. I turned to walk out of the way more. I sat down on some steps.

“Ow.” I whined and pulled down my sleeve. I flinched when the fabric stuck to the wound. My stomach turned when I saw marred flesh and blood slowly seeping from it.

“Hey kid.” I jumped, yanking the sleeve down. I turned to see Hawks walking towards me. He had a smile on but a questioning look in his eyes. “What was that?”

“Oh it was nothing.” I smiled. He raised an eyebrow, unconvinced. He stopped just in front of me. He held out his hand and made a motion with his fingers to give it to him. I hesitated.

“Now Kid. I just want to help.”

“My mom needs…”

“Your mom is being taken care of. Now I need to take care of you.” He held out his hand. I relented and set my wrist in his grasp. He sat down next to me and grabbed a hold of the fabric.

“Ah!” I flinched and tried to pull my arm away at the tug on the wound. He kept a tight grip on me.

“I’m sorry.” He went gentler this time and revealed the wound. “Shit, kid. Why were you hiding this?” He pulled the rest of the sleeve away and inspected it. He looked off towards where everyone was at. Suddenly a clean rag was floating in front of us and I saw a small flash of red. “This is going to hurt.” He pressed to the wound. I flinched but stayed put.

“You were right.” I bit my lip and he chuckled.

“Again why did you hide this? You said you were fine.” he chided. I looked down in shame. He sighed. “Are you going to tell me?” He asked firmly. I shrunk into myself. “Look Kid, I just went to help you. I’m going to go get some supplies and then fix this up. Okay?”

“Yeah.”

“Stay.” I watched him walk away before I looked at my mother. She was giving me an unhappy, questioning look. I just looked down. “Okay, here we go.” Hawks sat down again. He had with him some rubbing alcohol, ointments, and bandages. He got to work fixing my arm. A few whimpers, loud exclamations, and quite a few flinches later, he finished wrapping it.

“Thank you.” I said softly. He nodded but eyed me. “What?”

“Where’s the rest?” I was about to say there wasn’t anymore but he knew I would be lying. I slowly lifted my Shirt to show the wound I hadn’t even looked at. His gasp sent panic up my spine.

“What?”

“Kid… you have talent to hide wounds like this.” He said. He gently reached up and ran his hand over the skin. I hissed and grabbed his wrist. “I’m sorry.” I looked away from him and saw my mother with a pissed off look. Hawks went to touch it again.

“I’m fine.” I said quickly. He wanted to talk but I didn’t let him. “Really, I am. Thank you for helping with my own but I’ll take care of the rest at home.” I hopped up and backed away. “I better go see my mom. See if she needs anything.”

“Kid. No, wait!” He tried to stop me.

“Bye!” I ran off.

To say my mom was upset was understatement. She yelled at me for distracting and taking up a pro’s time. I also got yelled at for lying and leaving her alone. When we got home, she told me to pick up the house so there was no chance of her getting tripped up and hurting herself more.

“I need to get this cleaned up.” I brushed my hand over my throbbing side. I nearly doubled over in pain when I did.

“YIN, I am going out.” Mom walked out of her room. I looked up at her in shock.

“What? The doctor said you need to take it easy and relax.” She looked at me like I had two heads.

“ Yes. Exactly. So I am going out with Lee to relax. So don’t wait up.” She looked through her bag for her keys.

“That’s not what he meant … Mom.” I went to walk up to her.

“I expect this to be done by the time I get back. Got it? Oh, and be careful with your arm, I Guess.” She waved her hand before walking out the door. I just stood there in shock. I looked around and sighed.

“I can’t believe…” I shook my head and went back to work. My side got worse and worse until I couldn’t even move without it hurting. I was dizzy by the time a knock on the door spooked me. “Coming!” I yelled and went that way. Just into the entrance hall, a wave of intense dizziness hit me. I fell into the wall with a thud.

“Kid?” I heard a muffled voice through the door. I went to walk forward but my legs wouldn’t work. I fell to the floor and black surrounded my vision. “Hey, kid? You alright?”

“Hawks?” I whispered.

“Hey what was that thud?” I turned over with great effort onto my back.

“Hawks!” I tried to yell. I took a big breath. “Hawks! Help!” I croaked.

“Shit!” I heard him mutter. I blanked out after that. I vaguely remember him breaking in the door and appearing above me. I also vaguely recall him asking when my mom was and me answering. After that, I completely blacked out.

tw: smut! overstimulation, male ahegao, spit swallowing, do tell if i missed any!

does anybody else think about pro-hero hawks in there on the bed with you in the cow girl position.

you‘ve ridden him with all your might and now his hands are gripping your ass like a fucking vice. his face is blissed out after you‘ve brought out his fourth load of the night.

he‘s surely near overstimulated as he whispers your name underneath his panted breath. sweet calls of your name as he swallows the mix of yours and his saliva.

but you don‘t stop there.

you start riding him once again with your hands now on the headboard, your lust filled eyes looking at him tauntingly as his golden ones widen. there‘s a whine that leaves past his swollen lips as the hold on your ass becomes weak.

but he hasn‘t said the safe word, so you continue.

with every downward movement, his face becomes more and more dumbed out. his eyes are half lidded with hearts on the pupils, his tongue poking out more and more. an abundance of his whines growing higher in pitch with every thrust.

for such a fucked out, overstimulated baby you‘d think he‘d beg you to stop or for him to simply allow you to take over.

but he doesn‘t. it surprises you that he even is still thrusting upwards matching your speed to meet your hole even though his cock is pouring cum with every twitch.

don‘t worry though, he isn‘t broken, you haven‘t broken him in yet. because if you have, he surely would be bending himself over and spreading his own cheeks with the pleas of “please fuck me!” leaving past his lips.

synopsis with it being your birthday, you’re aware of the gifts you’ll get. but the last thing you expect is for a generous, handsome man to make your night

You blew out your candles as your friends hit the last notes to your happy birthday song. They cheered, a few taking pictures while the others had their flash right in your face for video memory.

“Our girl’s finally 21! How’s it feel, ___?” Your friend closest to you, Jasmine, nudged your shoulder.

You hummed. Taking the candles out of your cake. “I don’t feel any different. Just can say I drink at the legal age, I guess.” You sneered, garnering a slap on the shoulder from Jasmine.

Spending your 21st at a high priced club was certainly not your idea. You would’ve settled for shots and cake at your apartment but your friends shot down that idea before you could even finish. Settling for your local ( and go to ) bar was something you also would’ve been down to do. But, of course, they insisted you all needed to be at the best in your city for your birthday.

You appreciated it. Especially since they all collectively covered the table. But the lights and music were starting to get to you. You had done your fair share of dancing, fair share of drinking, fair share of talking. Now, you just wanted to go home and sleep off that drinking portion of the night.

“Don’t tell me you getting tired,” On the opposite side of the table, your other friend deadpanned. Having the rest follow with a chorus of complaints and whines.

You held your hands up in defense. “My head is spinning and I want to be in my warm bed. Is that too much to ask for?”

Another friend countered. “Yes when I spent my whole paycheck to cover part of the table, hoe.” You snorted at her response.

“Fine. I just need something to get me back into…” You were saying as you brought your glass of water to your lips. But as your gaze drifted acrossing the seating area, your eyes locked with a pair of hazel ones. Hazel eyes that belonged to a very handsome man. And for some reason that handsome man was staring at you.

If your glass had been any closer you’re sure you would’ve choked. But you just placed it down and quickly averted your view to your friend group.

“Are you alright?” Jasmine cocked an eyebrow at your sudden flustered appearance.

“Hot guy at 3 o’clock.” Your whispered through teeth. Jasmine eyes circled into saucers as she tried her best to be discreet.

“Oh blondie. He’s hot. He’s been watching you like a hawk ever since we got our table though.” She admitted nonchalantly before taking a sip from your drink.

Your jaw fell ajar. “And you didn’t care to tell me!” You whisper-shouted.

“I’m just suprised you haven’t noticed.” Jasmine laughed. You shook your head. Your curiousity took over you and you let your eyes flicker back to his table. Your chest fell in relief seeing as he was making conversation with a waiter.

But your anxiety levels rose again when said waiter was beelining for your table right after talking to hazel. The waiter had caught your whole table’s attention.

“Is something wrong?” One of your friends immediately inquired.

“Ah! No, Mister Keigo would like to know if he could take over the bill of this party.” You physically paused, along with your friends.

“Who?” The waiter answered your friend’s question with a point of his pen to where hazel or better yet, Mister Keigo, was seated in mid coversation with one of his tablemates.

You gulped. “He insisted?”

“Yes ma’am.”

Before you could refuse the offer, Jasmine cut in. “Tell him thank you!” Your eyes widened but none of your other friends seemed to argue.

“But—” her hand slapped over your mouth.

“Thank you.” She iterated.

The waiter nodded and made his way back towards Mister Keigo’s table. Your table sat in shock, similar looks on their faces.

“A hot guy paying for your table bill? He wants you.” Your friend opposite from you proclaimed. This time you actually choked. Your hand smacked Jasmine’s hand away from you.

“He does not!”

“He so does.” They all mused.

You scoffed, a slight pout on your face. “I feel bad.”

“Here you go,” Jasmine rolled her eyes. “Just accept the sweet offer, ___.”

“Iam, but I feel like I need to thank him.” You glanced over to his table to where he was obviously signing something from the waiter. Most likely your bill.

Jasmine smacked her hand on your shoulder. “Then do that. While you’re at it see if he’ll take you home, I bet he wants some birthday cake if you catch my drift…”

Your friends laughed as you glared at Jasmine. “I will only be saying thank you then taking my leave.” You peeled her hand from your shoulder, shuffling from your seat at the booth.

“Don’t act like you don’t want him!” She called while you were already a couple feet from the table.

You didn’t, right? You tried to convince yourself that. You weren’t the type to do hook ups or sleep with strangers. But with every step you took closer to the V.I.P section, the pit in your stomach dug deeper. You knew his eyes were following you. It sent chills down your spine. But you continued to stride to the velvet rope and buffed security guy who held said rope.

“And you are?” He asked.

You stammered, opening your mouth while no words came from it. Your hope of thanking him started to slip but then a voice cut in.

“She’s with me, Vince.” You both simultaneously looked over to who it came from. And lo and behold, Mister Keigo in all his glory saving your ass from being booted from his section.

“You sure, Mister Keigo?” He strode over, clad in a sleek black suit, his sharp honey eyes fixated on your figure. You looked away, you barely knew him and he already had an effect on you.

“Now why would I ever lie, Vince?” His voice fit him so well. His tone that toed into teasing territory nearly made you shudder.

“Alright, lady.” You pursed your lips as the velvet rope was opened for you. Taking the opportunity to step past it and land in front of Mister Keigo.

Your eyes still fought for whether you should try to hold eye contact with him or just stare at the floor.

“Looking for me?” He asked. You squeezed your eyes shut, starting to heat up in embarrassment when you simply nodded.

His laughter is what had your eyes flicker up to meet his for the third time tonight. He basically towered you, he was intimidating. But something about him also made it clear that he was chill.

Maybe it was the way he spoke. Or just how you got a slither of the way he carries himself.

“Well?” He lifted an eyebrow, a smirk etched on his face.

“I-I just wanted to thank you for paying the bill, Mister-”

“Ah,” he interrupted you. “Call me Keigo, I don’t mind.”

“Really?” You thought back to what the waiter and security guard referred to him as.

He nodded, his blonde locks shifting a bit. “Completely fine with me.”

“Oh, okay. Well, I just wanted to thank you. There was no need, I appreciate it.” You finally got what you wanted to say out. Internally sighing in relief andvictory.

Keigo smiled. “No problem. Just consider it a birthday gift from me, yea?”

“Ye-yea, of course.” You nodded. You didn’t know what to say. Here you were, talking to one of the prettiest guys you’ve ever seen, who had pay for your bill like it was nothing.

“No problem…” Keigo titled his head as he trailed off.

“Oh! It’s ___, call me ___.”

“___.” He hummed. “What a pretty name. It fits you perfectly, in my opinion.” The way he lifted his eyebrow nearly made your knees buckle underneath you.

“Ah, thank you. But are you sure there’s no way I can repay you?” It was out of your control how your tone automatically borderlined on lustful. His presence made you feel hot. And his mesmerizing gaze didn’t help.

Keigo smiled devilishly, leaning forward a bit, a few inches from your face. “Is there anything you had in mind, Miss ___?”

Your breath got caught in your throat. You could practically hear your friends squealing from the other side of the room.

“It would be up to you to pick wouldn’t it?” You tried to best to match his energy. But he was so smooth. Keigo laughed, it was deeper this time while there was this particular glint in his eyes.

“Is that so?” Having no rebuttle, you nodded again. Silently letting him win.

Keigo stood upstraight again. “Here,” he took a napkin from a nearby table. Quickly asking to borrow a pen from a passing waiter.

“We can discuss it over the phone, if that’s fine with you?”

Your eyes followed as he wrote his digits down, his name in nice print right above it. “Yea. That’s fine.” You answered like you were in some trance.

“Great. I’ll be looking forward to it.” He handed you the napkin. You took that as your signal to head back to your section.

“I’ll make sure not to lose this then…” You smiled, walking away slowly but surely. With another one of his entrancing smirks, you turned around. Releasing a deep sigh before reaching Vince. But before you could exit through that velvet rope.

Keigo’s voice hit your ears again.

“Oh! And happy birthday.”

Hawks pulling you closer in the middle of the night. You’re groggy and your mind is barely awake. You felt his warm arms wrap around you and hold you close. Your head under his chin listening to his heart beat. “ Keigo? Is everything alright?” You hug him to you and at that moment ,in the middle of the night, there’s just you two. His silky skin and his warmth. The arms that pull you so close they’re your home.

“Yeah…just a stupid nightmare.” His voice shakes and he pulls you even closer. “Do you wanna talk about it?” You try to pull back enough to see his face but his grip never loosens. “No. Not right now. Tomorrow baby bird.” You nestle down in his chest. The rise and fall of his chest lulling you back to sleep. “Its okay Keigo. Everything’s going to be okay. Im here.”

He stills just for a moment.

“Always?” The question lingers in the air and you answer with a sweet kiss.

“Always. As the moon falls and the sun rises.”

The moonlight flows through the curtains and covers you in its loving light.

Hawks headcanon: Jealousy AU

TW: unwanted advances, creepy asshole

Being in love with the Pro Hero Hawks had its perks and ,very few drawbacks, one of those perks was being able to inviting your sweet boyfriend out to events with you. This time you invite Hawks to a semi formal work event held by your bosses in appreciating to their employees. Everyone so far has been very professional with him. No one had crowded him or overwhelmed him. They patiently waited until we did our rounds with everyone I personally knew.

Your bosses and coworkers loved him. He had a certain way with people that just drew them in. An hour in, he excused him self to bring you some food and another flute. He trailed his arm around your waist and ghosted his fingers around the fabric of your waist , “I’ll be back, Little Feather.” He let you go and moved through the crowd to get you something to eat and drink. You stayed chatting with a coworker when an arm slithered across your shoulders. You’d know that slimy feeling anywhere. It was *That* coworker. The one who thought he was so hot and Gods gift to men.

You shrug his arm off your shoulder sending shivers down your spine as his arm dropped. Goose bumps rose on your bare back. You rose your glass to your lips and turned around. “What do I owe the pleasure? I thought you weren’t coming tonight.” You looked around to where Hawks went but couldn’t see him inbetween the crowd. “Well aren’t you glad to see me? Came here just to say hi to you.” His stupid face carried his stupid smirk and you felt the anger build in you.

“ Awww didn’t you miss me, hun?” He moved closer to you trying to move his arm back when you were yanked out of the way. “Woah there my love, I got you.” You were pressed against a firm chest, arms wrapped around your waist. You look up in surprise and see Kegio’s face looking down at you. He smiled warmly at you but there was a glint in his eye. Something with an edge.

He pressed you closer to him cuddling into you, snuggling his face into yours. Your heart filled with love and you couldn’t help but snuggle back in happiness “I’m sorry Little Bird did I take too long? I brought you something to eat.” You thanked him and stayed in his arms while plopping a grape happily in your mouth. He raised a finger to caress your cheek and hmmed in happiness. “How’s my beautiful girl? Did you miss me for long?” He cheekily smiled at you pulling an exasperated sigh out of you. You rolled your eyes at him, “Mmmm idk but I missed these grapes.” He pulled away form you, “Gasp! This just means I have to give you more of my love!” He pulled you closer to him winning a giggle from you.

“Umm excuse me. We were having a conversation here!” The creep was still there body squared with his chest puffed out. “Is this asshole bothering you, hun?” Hawks body went stiff and his smile dropped. He looked at his general direction looked him up and down scoffing. “Anyways babe, since it looks like you weren’t with anyone important lets go talk to your work bestie I saw her earlier with her boyfriend. I was talking to them about double dating.” He pulled away to stand next to you, putting his arm around your waist and pulling you from the unwanted man near you. You were so excited talking to Hawks about the possible double date. You never even noticed the wicked bone chilling glare he sent to the other man.

You know its funny you never did hear from him again.

Hawks Headcanon

Being with Hawks was something unexpected. You never really thought you’d end up with him in the first place. He’s a wonderful guy who could talk a person into anything he wanted really. But it was the things that made him, him, that had you falling for him.

It started off slow at first and you didn’t catch it right away. Whenever you were together he’d always want to eat. He’d take you to some street vendor and you’d eat in the park. You take a walk afterwards and he’d hold your hand sweetly stealing some kisses.

During a date you always stop by to eat somewhere. Anywhere, from a ramen restaurant to the rare expensive restaurants. He would even randomly show up during his patrol. He’d swoop in, walk with you and casually offer you some snacks.

After a while he’d wake up early to have breakfast with you in the mornings. He’d hide your favorite snacks in your purse or jacket. He’d still swoop in during the day to spend time with you but when he was busy he’d see you just to drop off some food. After a while, Hawks was a staple at your dinner as well.

By the time you noticed, Hawks would be with you ever meal. When you confronted him about it he smiled, “Aww Y/N I gotta take care of my Baby Bird some how, I just like making sure you eat.” He tiled his head and touched your cheek,” I love making sure you stay healthy and happy and I know you miss your meals.” He touched his forehead with yours, “ I’m sorry love, I just wanted to take care of you.”

Your heart just about melted and you said it was fine. He pulled away and looked up at you with excitement in his eyes, “Really Y/N great! Lets go get something to eat its dinner time!” You let out an exasperated breath and followed him squeezing his hand as a sign on love. He was just so sweet.

Happy Meal

-As a young mother YN didn’t know what to do when the number 2 hero had taken the last happy meal that her son so desperately want.

Chapter 11: He Saw

Hawks knew something was coming. He shouldn’t have gone with the other villains.

Why had he come along with them instead of staying with the leader. He was stupid.

But luckily Twice, one of the villain he was with, was stupider.

He was sent to retrieve something ‘important’ from a close doctor friend of Tomura. But he wasn’t aware that Tomura was going to attack.

What makes things worse is it was the city where you lived. He was worried, why had they chosen Hosu to attack?

Did they find out….?

Hawks was definitely putting too much on his wings. His speed was probably the top he’s gone before.

He needed to get to Hose. He needed to get to you

But unfortunately, when he got Hosu in his eye of vision… he was too late. He could see three large figures getting ready to launch towards the city, one of which was flying.

“Shit.” He muttered.

They were nomus. Ones that are planning on attacking the city.

He had to help the people… but his worry about you was too much. He wanted to see you more.

“Fuck fuck fuck fuck!!!”

Could he even handle the nomus?

His debate with himself was cut when he heard an explosion not far ahead. The nomus had gotten to the city and began their rampage.

Heroes were evacuating the civilians. The few ranked heroes present fought the nomus.

He could see Endeavour at the area fighting against one Nomu. The other one was being held back by fatgum and his recruits.

One. Two. Where was the third one…?

The flying one. Not that many heroes can handle that one. What if that thing flew to your direction?

He frantically searched looking for the third nomu. He left feathers around to save the civilians. His feathers were decreasing and so was his speed.

He was getting slower and slower. As much as he needed speed to get to you, he also needed to save civilians.

The daycare was empty and smashes. When he got close. And to make things worse, the nomu came out from the broken wall.

When it started scheeching, he figured you must’ve escaped already. Your car wasn’t anywhere close so he felt more relieved.

He was about to land so he could take care of the nomu until he saw Tsunagu. Tsunagu immediately restrained the nomu with best he could.

“Hawks? You fucking bastard where the fuck were you?”

“Why aren’t you with Y/N???” He panicked.

He was sure he told you to call Tsunagu.

“Why the hell would I be if the city is under attack???”

“Fucking idiot!” Not giving even the slightest explanation to the other hero. He flew.

With so little feathers left he could barely do so. They were taking too long to get to him.

He was lucky he knew where you lived. He just hoped you were there.

He looked at every side in hopes of seeing you anywhere at all.

And when a powerful force sent him aback a few inches followed by a scream he knew things weren’t well.

After all the scream he had heard said, “Don’t touch him!!”

He was either close or you were panicking so much you screamed so loud.

He saw you. Looking above in panic. Four men sprawled on the ground.

“Come on baby, please…”

To Hawks’ shock. He saw Sato floating two meter or three above you. He was crying and clenching his fists as if he would fall if he hadn’t.

“Baby please, mommy will get you. Come on, please…”

Sato was about to ease until one of the men tackled you.

“Mama!!!” Sato reached out.

Like he thought he began falling. Hawks zoomed towards him just in time to catch him, and using his feather as a sword, he attacked the villain attacking you.

When he got the two of you safe, he finally calmed down. Releasing a sigh of relief.

“Haws….” Sato cried holding unto Hawks’ shirt. He was trembling with his tears staining the shirt.

“Oh my god!” You finally came around and ran to Hawks and Sato hugging them as if they were your life line. Your cries broke Hawks’ heart.

He gave you back rubs to comfort you burying your face on his shoulder.

“Don’t worry.” Finally he gave you and Sato’s head a kiss. “I’m here now.”

To Hawks’ luck, he saw two figures. Both of which was staring at you three only to vanish after some kind of warpy thing enveloped one, but not before the sight finally became clear.

It was Tomura.

He saw you three.

Happy Meal

Hawks / Keigo Takami X Reader

-As a young mother YN didn’t know what to do when the number 2 hero had taken the last happy meal that her son so desperately want.

Chapter 9: Trouble Happened

Finally getting in touch with Rumi, Keigo had absolutely regretted it.

Whilst roaming the sky he continued his patrol. He pulled out his phone remebering Rumi had needed him.

“Guess what you bastard?”

With a yawn while scratching his ear he replied, “I don’t know. Did someone die?”

“We might as well fucking had! President came since you were unavailable. What the fuck were you doing?”

“Come on, so what if you got scolded or something. It’s okay, she just really missed me and had to take it out on someone.”

“Get the fuck off your cloud because you are 100% getting fired you ass. She was attacked!”

The shock of the even took Keigo aback and he lost his focus making himself free fall until he was an inch from the ground.

Shit

“What the fuck happened?”

He put the title of ‘Fastest Hero’ to good use and zoomed to where the HPSC is.

“She didn’t say. She said it was really important. She had called Endeavour to meet with her too.”

“You have no clue?”

“Tsunagu was pissed you three are in cahoots. What the hell is it?”

“Yeah, maybe next time. I have to be there.”

Of course he had to be there. There could only be one reason as to why he’d be called to the hq that way.

Dropping the call he went faster and pocketed his phone.

He was scared. Scared of what it would do to his mission. To the people he had grown too fond of.

He had to get there fast. He had to know what the hell happened. He forgot all his plans as his nerves panicked. Thinking the worst case scenarios, he hated everything that was happening.

As expected upon reaching the buikding, just as any sane person would do after they get attacked, there were guards surrounding the place.

He flew and every level he could see a bunch of people stationed to guard. Every corner was covered.

Keigo was always extra, he always visits his boss after his flight so the president was nice enough to make an entrace for him.

There was someone stationed there as well of course so after his knock, the door was opened.

There he saw papers scattered on the floor, on the table there was one single bond paper.

A clearly nervous president sat in front of it and a serious Enji across her.

“This is trouble Hawks. A huge one.”

Then a ping on his phone made him jump. It was you, he just then remembered his plans.

Chapter 6: Haws Papa

“Excuse me?” Chuuya blinked.

Hawks looked at the child around his leg then at Y/N. A huge shit eating grin came to his face, the blush was clearly evident but that didn’t stop him on walking in sunshine.

He let out an inhumane sound as he picked up Sato crashing his face on the child’s torso. He hugged him tightly you were sure your son was going to suffocate.

“H-Hawks!” You called softly but loud enough to indicate your emotion.

“He called me papa! He called me- AHHHHHHHHH!!!” Once again using your son to muffle his screams.

Sato giggled at the sensation.

Rin and the other fathers blinked. Looking at you and Hawks.

“L/N-San???” Shibaya called.

“A-Ah… Hawks…”

“Shush! Fatherhood!”

“Sa-Sato!”

Your son looked at you, you motioned for him to look at the man holding him.

“Eh…? Haws?” He placed his little hand on Hawks cheeks which made the man blush. “Mama, Haws Sao Papa?”

Everyone was looking at you expectantly, especially Hawks. It was making you blush.

“Woah! Sato’s dad is Hawks!” Gintoki marveled getting away from his uncle.

“That’s so cool!”

By now Chuuya had lost the kids’ attentions.

“Hawks is totally cooler than uncle!!” Gintoki grinned touching Hawks’ wing.

“Can you make me fly?! Sato said you made him fly!!” Shizuo asked.

“I wanna fly too!” Megumi pouted.

Hawks was glad of the attention. That was until he saw the men in early 30s who was looking at him and Sato. He laughed nervously and turned to you only to see Chuuya looking at you in an emotion he didn’t quite like.

Being petty, Hawks pouted and held onto Sato like he was supposed to. Sato snuggled into Hawks making Hawks proud. Whoever that guy was totally had nothing on you now.

“Y/N, Sato asked something… Should I answer for you?” He smirked.

“H-Hawks! Stop it!”

Hawks laughed and put down Sato.

“Mommy doesn’t want it. Sato, mommy won’t let me be Sato’s Dad…” He frowned exaggerately trying to appeal to the child.

Sayo just looked at him, “Oh… Haws no Sao Papa. Sao will see Haws someer els en.” Ignoring the man Sato waltz towards you.

Hawks looked at Sato in horror. He was betrayed.

“Sato…” Hawks called sadly still trying to appeal to the kid.

“Hawks,” A booming voice called the attention.

Then Endeavor in his hero costume came in, holding a happy meal bag.

“I have a busy schedule. If you brought me here since your son is a fan, I think I have to leave.”

Endeavor walked over to Sato and knelt down to his level.

“I’m sorry I’m busy. But your dad really wanted me to give this to you, I already signed it.”

With that he headed toward the door.

“A-Ah! Endeavor!!” Hawks then ran towards Sato. “Y/N I’ll bring him back after a few! Thanks! See ya later! Love ya!” Picking up Sato, he flew across the room and outside.

You just stood there, looking at everyone.

“H-He isn’t Sato’s dad!” You cleared up. “I’m so sorry. You don’t have to stay over anymore.”

Gintoki looked at Chuuya, “Neh, uncle, can you do that too?” He asked pointing at where Hawks and Sato had disappeared to.

Chuuya felt embarrassed of his being there. He wasn’t even acknowledged by either of the heroes. And the fact you were blushing over Hawks while Sato was calling him dad made him realize that, maybe Rin was right. He didn’t have a chance on you.

“No I can’t.” Chuuya sighed.

“Sato is lucky. He has Hawks as his dad so he’ll be close with all the cool heroes…” Shizuo pouted. “I want to be friends with heroes too…”

“Me too!” Megumi added.

Soon all 5 kids were crying about how they want to be friends with heroes.

“Leo is also a hero!” Nanase-san reminded.

Panicked Leo looked at the dads. “Y-Yeah! I’m also a hero! I’m friends with other heroes!”

“But you’re not cool at all!” Gintoki sobbed. “You don’t have cool hero friends!”

“G-Gin! D-Don’t say that!” You scolded softly. “That’s very rude.”

Suddenly you felt a light kiss on your cheek. You shrieked and turned to see Hawks carrying Sato just beside your face. Both of them began laughing.

It was really a sight to the 3 fathers who watched Sato grew. You could mistaken them as father and son easily.

“Sao is here.”

“That was fast…”

“Endeavor had an emergency so we’ll just do it some other time.” Hawks explained gently placing Sato in your arms.

“So, why are these little kids crying?” He dispersed his feathers and they gently picked up the children who now stopped crying.

“Uncle Chuuya isn’t cool and we want cool hero friends too like Sato!”

“Ehh? Chuuya?” He tilted his head.

“A-Ah, h-here…” Chuuya felt so small.

“Oh! Leo!” Hawks flew in front of the man. “What do you mean he isn’t cool?! Leo is so cool! Did you guys know he’s in the same agency as Best Jeanist?! Best Jeanist is the 3rd strongest hero and he works with Leo! That’s so cool!” Hawks marveled enthusiastically in front of the children.

The fact Hawks knew him made Chuuya better. In fact it made his heart skip. He was weirdly blushing at the fact, so he cleared his throat and turned somewhere else.

“But you’re cooler…” Tsugumi mumbled.

“I am cooler and stronger but that doesn’t mean he isn’t cool. I heard Leo is going to bring Best Jeanist over here next time. Best Jeanist told me.” Chuuya turned to Hawks in shock. As if he could ask that from his boss who probably doesn’t even know of him. “But I think he won’t come anymore since you said his friend isn’t cool.”

“No! Uncle is really cool!!” Gintoki cried. “I’m sorry! Please tell Best Jeanist to come uncle!”

“Yeah! You’re so cool Leo-san!!” Choko joined.

“A-Ah…”

Hawks leaned towards Chuuya’s ear.

“Don’t worry, I’ll handle that part. Just say yes.” He whispered.

Chuuya felt shivers down his spine and his eyes widen in embarrassment.

“Y-Yes!” He squeaked.

“Wooow! So cool!” Hawks cheered flying towards your side now. “He’s so cool!”

He gently tried to wrap his arms around your neck but you stepped away and placed Sato in his arms.

“Y-You guys, come on. It’s time to leave.” You smiled at the kids.

You mouthed at the parents, “I’ll explain next time.”

Then they started leaving one by one.

“I’m really good with kids. Still don’t want me?” He asked lying mid air with Sato playing his new Endeavor toy on his chest.

“No. I’m sorry.”

“How about we eat out? My treat?”

“No thank you.”

“Great! I’ll drive, can I borrow your keys?” He smiled and settled on the ground. “I’ll get your bags, where are they?”

Unexpected Diagnosis

anon asked: I requested this a while ago but I think tumblr ate it. Could you maybe write Hawks comforting his S/O who recently got a diagnosis that’s freaking them out? I was recently told I might have a heart condition and it’s been freaking me out. If this isn’t okay for you to write then feel free to not write it. Thank you!

Characters: Takami Keigo (Hawks), Aizawa Shouta (Erasurehead), Usagiyama Rumi (Mirko)

a/n: I hope you are faring well and just know that you’re giving an amazing battle no matter the disease you might have, know I’m proud of you for being such a strong person and pulling through this. Also know that my messages are always open for anyone who feels like ranting or releasing pent up feelings, I’m here for you. Love ya <3

TW: bad diagnosis, no disease mentioned just the bad news, crying and breaking down.

KEIGOreceived the news through text. It was short and curt, a sign someone else had written it and not you. His heart dropped to his stomach upon the diagnosis, the files in his hands slipping away and spilling near his feet, eyes glued to the screen. He flies out of the agency and straight to the hospital, frantic labored breathing escaping his lips as he checks in at the main office and is led to your room. Your parent is standing outside, a troubled expression on their face as they clutch your phone in their hands. They step aside allowing him to enter, tear strikes on their cheeks as they quickly look away. You’re sitting on the bed facing the wall, fingers playing with your feather necklace, eyes blank as silent tears run down your cheeks. He sits next to you in silence, wings enveloping you as a shield and gently nudging you to lean on his shoulder, his fingers searching yours through the deafening silence. You begin to sob then, uncontrollable and loud, cutting off your breathing short and as he quickly brings you into his chest, he too feels your pain at the news. He strokes your hair, humming a small tune to calm you down, wiping away your tears with his thumb and leaving small kisses on your hairline. “Everything’s gonna be alright. I promise you we’ll get through this.”

AIZAWAwas there. He witnessed the doctor’s crestfallen face, your smile disappearing, how your hands trembled and your face paled at the news. He caught you as you fell to your knees, thanking the doctor on their way out and holding you tightly to his chest as sobs wrecked your body. The news were bad, devastating and right now as you fell apart in his arms he didn’t know what to tell you to make you feel better. So he didn’t say anything. He just rocked you both back and forth, arms tightening around your frame and letting you claw at his chest. No hero training could prepare him for something like this, in reality he too wanted to burst into tears. Right now he wouldn’t because you needed him to be strong, you needed him in these moments and you always came first in his mind. Kissing the top of your head he grabbed your hand bringing it up to his lips allowing his actions to speak for him. “Shouta I can’t-” “Of course you can.” His voice was soft and soothing almost as if he was afraid to break the silence. “You are the strongest person I know and if anyone can beat this it’s you. You’ll pull through, you’ll make it work.” He knew the sun would shine through, even if the sky seemed clouded at the moment.

The email came on RUMI’s phone. You had given the clinic her email address for some reason and she was the first to know. Reading through it, at first she thought they had made a mistake. This couldn’t be right… You were perfectly healthy! This must be a mistake. But upon continuing down the diagnosis she began finding things that had changed throughout the past few months. Symptoms that the both of you had taken too lightly blaming it on allergies, the weather, the strong wind or the rain that you had been caught in on the way home. How was she supposed to tell you? How was she supposed to look you in the eyes and share something like this? Dialing your phone number she asked you to meet her at your favorite cafe and order whatever you wanted from the menu while you waited. She found you with an untouched strawberry shortcake in front of you and a brightnining smile, not a care in the world. Sitting down, she intertwined her fingers with yours giving them a firm squeeze and running her finger over your wedding ring. With a deep sigh she began: “I have some news, darling…”

When I make up a scenario about this song in my head I picture a former Hawks x Reader and he always put everything before her, so she left him for Dabi.

Then like he’s soooooo upset about it cause he didn’t realize how much he loved u until he lost you.

Dabi loves u and he puts u before everything else and your genuinely so happy with him it makes u wanna cry.

You’re on a date with Dabi on a rare occasion yall go out cause he’s a wanted villain

Hawks developed a drinking problem because of your breakup and he sees y’all dancing and you look so flipping happy.

During the part of the song where it goes “cause I remember how much you loved to dance” he’s just watching Dabi dip you down, and his happiness just doesn’t come back like literally ever.

He loves you, but he never showed it so you left, and now Dabi is treating you the way Hawks should’ve.

andypantsx3:

okay but a fanfic where hawks keeps snapping open his wings around you, and at first you think it’s some kind of bird intimidation thing. look bigger, look scarier, etc etc. you end up working well together; he looks embarrassed every time and he apologizes so you think it’s not a big deal. just one of those things people with mutation type quirks can’t always help.

until one day you’ve got one of those bbc nature documentaries on in the background while you go about your chores. there’s this bird on screen that keeps whipping its wings out in the most extra mating dance you have ever seen, trying to draw attention, trying to look bigger.

the movements look super familiar actually, and you have to stop and think where you’ve seen this before. have you seen this in a gif, maybe?

A few hours passed of you and Hawks mingling, sometimes with other heroes, but mostly with politicians or officials who’s titled eluded you.

It was painful to see Hawks go from bubbly and happy when talking to heroes, to refrained and quiet when talking to politicians. It was like a switch flipping inside him, so effortlessly going back and forth. He was young and immature with other heroes, solemn and cold with the elites.

It was as if he had been trained to behave that way-

-and maybe he had been.

It was hard to determine which one was real: the starry eyed youngster or stone faced man. That thought left a stinging pain in your chest: a harsh reminder that you didn’t really know Hawks.

Even if he had shared a side of himself that the rest of the world wouldn’t know, was it really him when the mask was off, or was it just another?

But, there was one thing that you knew was real: the countless lives that he had saved. Sure, he accumulated a lot of wealth from that; but, Hawks never asked for the payout when detectives and police came his way, and you had written reports for many things that he was never properly credited for by the media.

That would have to be good enough, and who were you to ask him for more? His assistant, his partner. You couldn’t bring yourself to call yourself his friend, even though you wanted to.

His lover-

Oh well, you didn’t even allow yourself the delusion. You were nothing of the sort, just a convenient partner for him to play with, not that you minded. After all, you were getting something vast out of the arrangement, too.

It would just have to be enough.

Late into the night, your feet were a little sore and the winged hero, unsurprisingly, didn’t look the least bit tired. The band had calmed the theatrics and were now playing a mellow jazz ensemble to quiet the crowd into the night.

Apparently, Hawks intended to see this whole thing through, even at your insistence that he could head out and you would cover for his absence.

It didn’t occur to you that he had an ulterior motive.

Sometime around midnight, he gently took you by the elbow and ushered you through an empty hallway, away from the commotion. You trailed behind him down an empty hallway, completely oblivious to his intentions.

This was a public place after all, and surely Hawks wouldn’t risk anything?

He guided you into a dark room, where you couldn’t see far past the light shining in from the hallway. He closed the door behind you and pushed your body against it, pinning you between his weight and the mahogany. Still, despite the faint warning of what was to come, you gasped when his lips fell over yours. His tongue slipped inside, and you could taste the champagne he had toasted a few minutes ago with a stuffy, high-class lawyer.

You sunk back carelessly into the door, letting Hawks push harder against you. Your mouth opened wider, encouraging him to explore to his hearts desire.

It was a bad idea, really. You could get caught, and that would be a terrible look for him.

But, his hands were heavy where they cupped your waist like a perfect belt, and his taste was dragging you back into that careless, submissive role you had crafted so beautifully together.

Hawks pulled back with a soft smack, before trailing wetly down your throat. His teeth nipped your skin, picking away at your crumbling will power. He had barely touched you, and an ache was already blossoming between your legs.

“Tell me ‘no’?” he suggested, panting softly as he shamelessly pressed his torso against the soft curves of your body, enjoying the squish of your breasts against his muscular chest.

You grunted an unladylike, disagreeing noise, and Hawks chuckled darkly.

“You want me,” he growled approvingly. “In public, too. You little slut.”

A strong hand grabbed at the back of your knee, pushing the fabric of your dress up your thigh. Once he had it high enough, he hiked your leg up onto his hip. He pressed the dress further up, until he could easily reach beneath.

He didn’t fumble for long with the material of your panties, pushing the fabric aside so his fingers could venture deeper. His free hand slapped over your mouth just in time to silence a cry as the pad of his middle finger pressed against your clit in a well experienced motion.

Hawks’ fingers gently dug into your cheeks while his palm pressed hard over your mouth. He leaned in close, lips almost touching his own knuckles, and stared imposingly into your eyes.

“So wet for me,” he praised, letting an evil grin curl his lip.

You had no idea what this room was. There was a safety bulb plugged into an outlet near the floor, giving enough light to let you see Hawks just barely through the darkness, but not much beyond him. You could hear the muffled commotion from the grand hall, vibrating through the door. It likely was loud enough to block out your sounds; but, Hawks seemed to enjoy silencing you.

“Want to be touched, don’t you?” he murmured hoarsely.

You nodded weakly, only to suddenly twitch at the shoulders when his hand twisted around. A calloused finger pushed past your folds and straight into your heat. The slick sound was startlingly loud, and had your thighs twitching against his waist.

“-fuck you with my fingers?” he continued his line of hoarse questioning, drilling his digit in a way that forced fleshy, wet sounds.

Your eyes fluttered shut from the pleasure.

“Look at me,” Hawks growled, anger seeping through his tone.

You opened your eyes, blinking rapidly, and dug your fingers into the shoulders of his suit.

“Look away again, and you don’t come,” he threatened, snarling against the back of his hand. You could almost feel his warm breath seeping through his own skin onto yours.

“Look away again, and you won’t get my belt,” he added on lowly.

His teeth flashed in an evil smile when you shuddered at his words.

“Ahh. You want that, don’t you?” Hawks taunted, huffing out a breath that nearly betrayed his evil tone.

Suddenly, his hand was pulling away from your heat and gripping your thigh to carefully drop your leg back down onto the floor.

“You’re gonna be good for me, aren’t you? Yeah, you are,” he mumbled darkly, leaning over your shoulder to breathe hotly into your ear.

Hawks removed his hand from your mouth and grabbed at your inner elbow, pulling you away from the door.

“Walk over there,” he commanded, guiding you further into the dark room.

You obeyed on wobbly legs, fearful that you might trip over the unseen. After a few steps, suddenly, he shoved you forward, and you cried out as you nearly collapsed, only to land chest-down on a wood surface that had to be a desk. You laid there in a stupor for a moment, wondering how Hawks could see through the dark.

“Straighten up,” he growled.

You leaned up on your elbows and adjusted your posture, moaning when his hands lifted your dress until the fabric was pooled over the curve of your ass.

You gasped when he tugged your panties down your thighs, tugging the fabric harshly. You felt him shifting, kneeling behind you, and he lifted each foot to help you step out of them, ensuring they didn’t catch on your shoes.

You didn’t know where your panties went after that; the thought was lost when you heard the metallic clanging of Hawks undoing his belt, and the whooshing sound as he pulled it through the straps along the waistline of his pants. The sound echoed in your ears, a sweet promise of what was to come.

“What do you say?” he asked, dragging the belt gently up the back of your thigh so you could feel the leather against your skin.

“Pleas-”

He didn’t even let you finish, tossing his wrist so that the smooth, leather of the belt cracked over your skin. It hit right beneath your behind, along the meat of your thigh. He was much gentler than he had been with the proper toy; still, the harsh sting of pain had you screaming.

“Hm? What do you say?” Hawks demanded in a harsh whisper, smacking you again with the smooth, flat side of his belt before you could even inhale.

He struck you a few more times, alternating sides, and received a pathetic sob or cry each time, depending on whether or not you had managed to catch your breath.

Remembering his demand, you managed a pathetic, “thank you, sir,” breathless and disgustingly lustful.

The belt dropped to the floor with a noisy clatter before you heard a thump. You barely had a second to be confused over what had happened before something wet was dragging up your folds. The rough drag of his chin hairs filled in your imagination to what he was doing.

He wasted no time slipping his tongue inside, wiggling against your velvety walls. Your thighs shook, and Hawks growled into your skin.

You whined, cheek smooshed into the desk, and resisted the urge to reach back and grab at his hair.

Just because master didn’t bind your wrists, didn’t mean you had permission to touch him. Oh, but if you did, then he would punish you, wouldn’t he?

Spurred on by that thought process, you reached back and carefully slotted your fingers through his hair, reveling the softness of those messy strands. Hawks moaned into your flesh, sincerely enjoying the drag of your digits through his roots.

But, of course, he couldn’t let you get away with that.

Hawks pulled back and rose to his feet with a growl. He pushed your extended arm onto the desk, pinning your limb with his strong grip. He arched over you, and you felt the weight of his chest press down on your back, and then his hot breath into your hair line.

“Did I say you could touch me?”

When you didn’t answer quickly enough, his hand collided harshly with the skin of your ass. You managed to bite back a scream, jolting at the rough touch.

“Hm?” he demanded in a harsh hiss.

“No, sir,” you panted out.

He yanked you to your feet, so harshly that it left you a little dizzy. Luckily, he held you tightly against his chest, ensuring you couldn’t fall. He peppered soft kisses against your cheek, releasing a breath that smelt strongly of champagne.

Delirious, you turned your head, and moaned loudly when he granted your silent plea and allowed his lips to fall over yours. His hands made quick work of your dress, skillfully undoing the top bindings until he could pull it off your shoulders. The fabric fluttered away and gathered where it was cinched at your tummy.

You gasped when he spung you around. With an effortless heave, he had you lifted and deposited onto the desk. The surface rattled beneath your leg. One of your heels slipped off your foot and clattered noisily to the floor as your legs swung up to drape elegantly over his hips.

Hawks busied himself with your now exposed chest, sucking harshly on one nipple while his other hand tugged the other between his digits. You sobbed helplessly, back arched and legs tight around his waist. The heat of your center begged for attention, desperately empty.

Desires he had denied you bubbled up: you wanted his cock buried inside you, to pump your cunt like a sleeve until he was satisfied. You wanted him to cover your mouth with his hand while he did it. Or maybe, you wanted his hand around your throat at the threat to squeeze if you made a sound.

His hand curled over your core and you whined as a couple fingers trailed along your wet slit teasingly. Your eyes were closed, head a little dizzy; but, you smelt that champagne breath again and parted your lips obediently. Hawks laughed darkly before slotting his mouth over yours, just as he slid two fingers into your heat, and gobbled up your sob.

His wings flapped behind him, a dramatic gesture that stirred air in the stagnant room. Vaguely, you realized he was doing it to catch sounds from outside. It was amazing, really, how he could manage to focus on so many different things at once.

Feathers slipped free from his wingspan, separating to disappear into the darkness. Some fluttered around the room, and many others crawled all over you.

It should have felt invasive or unpleasant: feeling his feathers curl around your thighs, along your chest to pinch at your nipples, up the back of your neck and into your hair. Perhaps, it was the knowledge that they were Hawks’ feathers that made it pleasant; they felt familiar, like his touch. You squirmed from the pleasure as one found your clit.

You tore your lips away from his to murmur, “-m close. P-please, can I-”

“Really?” Hawks uttered back darkly. His condescending tone had you fluttering your eyes open to meet his gaze. In the darkness of this room, staring down at you, with shadows cast over his face and eyes glowing, he looked evil.

But, you were anything but scared.

“You’re gonna cum on a strangers desk?” he whispered hoarsely.

“Actually, that’s a lie-” he corrected himself with a harsh chuckle, “-this is Takao’s office.”

Takao? Who-

-oh, that’s right. This was a region organized fundraiser, and Takao was an appointed lawyer, and one who wasn’t at all shy about his distrust of heroes, especially ones like Hawks, and had even threatened him legally on many occasions.

You probably - definitely - should have been mad about it. Maybe, you were more vindictive than you originally knew, or maybe the winged hero was bringing that out in you. He really was a bad influence, wasn’t he?

Oh, but it felt so good.

“Maybe I should turn you over, so you can scratch it up,” Hawks suggested, grinning down at you like a madman.

You shuddered, despite the thought of what a terrible idea that was. Hawks pushed your legs up higher with his free hand, until they brushed his ribs. He leaned in closer, practically climbing on top of you, and drilled his fingers faster.

You could feel sweat glistening on the surface of your skin, prickling as your orgasm grew closer. Hawks trailed nibbling kisses along your chest, and his hair tickled your skin. His wings would flap periodically, the sound not quite loud, but a delicious thrum in your ears.

“-use my belt to tie you to it, lick you until you’re crying,” Hawks mumbled, ensuring you could hear him, despite the words sounding like they weren’t intended for you, as if he was just pondering thoughts out loud.

“-spank that cute little ass 'till it’s red,” he added on, voice rough like tumbling gravel.

He leaned up and kissed at your hair line before resting his lips over the shell of your ear. Your eyes had closed at some point, and you were vaguely aware of how badly you were shaking.

“Beg me to come,” he snarled.

“Sir, please,” you whined, head tilting back.

His free hand released your thigh, disappearing from your skin. He scooted back away from the table and dragged you closer to the edge.

“Please,” you cried again, even though Hawks hadn’t slowed his hand, and was clearly intending to get you there.

The pace of his wing beats had grown faster and his feathers vibrated against your skin where they pinched and twirled. His shoulder moved against your leg, back and forth, and you heard the most sinful moan pour from his lips across your skin.

You came with a cry, shaking against the table, skin burning hot and thinly layered with sweat. Hawks slowed his fingers as you came down. His feathers calmed, but remained close, clinging to you as if they had nowhere else to go.

You were sharply aware of the movement of his arm, and whined pitifully into the dark room.

“Sir,” you called out to him, wiggling around in an attempt to break free from his old.

“Sir, please, let me,” you continued.

Hawks leaned his head up and looked down at you with his eyes half-lidded and lips parted, an almost pained look on his face as he touched himself.

You couldn’t stand it.

“Let me - please, please, let me,” you complained like a scolded child.

“You’ll ruin your suit,” you added on fiercely, chest heaving with your labored breathing.

“Master, please-”

That seemed to be the final straw, for Hawks let out a frightening sound, a growl that rumbled through his chest like the roar of a motor. His arm’s jerky movements finally came to a halt.

“Shut up,” Hawks snarled, warm, champagne breath washing over your face.

“Shut the fuck up,” and again, venomous and angry.

It was thrilling. The wild look of his gold eyes stirred up powerful emotions inside you. You reached for him again, ignoring his earlier threat, and clawed weakly at his coat like a needy, senseless child.

“Fine,” he uttered darkly.

Hawks pulled you off the table, and let you drop inelegantly to the floor, crumbling to your knees at his feet. One of your knees landed directly on his shoed foot, not that he seemed to care. The positioning brought you eye level with his cock, which you stared at shamelessly where it hung out of his barely opened pants.

Even through the dark room, you could see the beautiful shade of purple tinting the tip. Pre-come was oozing out the slit and, as you slid your hand over his length, you could feel the angry throb of the vein on the underside.

You sucked him down immediately, gagging at your overzealous efforts. There was a loud noise as Hawks’ hands grabbed at the edge of the desk. He hunched over, gripping the wood so firmly, it squeaked in protest. You could feel his legs trembling as you bobbed your head.

“Ohhh-” he moaned, the sounding breaking off into a hiss.

At this angle, you couldn’t see, but you could feel his eyes peering down at you. It was a bit disappointing, honestly - just a bit, for you wanted to see the look of pleasure on his face, watch him go cross eyed as you suctioned tightly on the tip before going back down as far as you could.

The desk squeaked again, and you briefly worried he was going to break it.

“Fuck-” he cursed hoarsely.

Recognizing that tone, you didn’t dare slow down.

“-agh-!”

One of his hands let go of the desk. A moan broke through the room before it was abruptly silenced, no doubt by him biting down on his own hand. The warmth and salt of his seed filled your mouth, and you carefully swallowed in patient gulps, ensuring none of it spilled past your lips and got on his suit.

Hawks exhaled hoarsely when you slid up and down his length a few more times, slow and careful, as his orgasm waned. You lingered, feeling his shaft throb from the intensity, and gagged when the soft tip brushed just a little too deep.

His hand finally touched you, fingertips sliding carefully over your exposed shoulders. Only then did you finally remember how obscene you looked, breasts exposed, dress partially undone, hair likely a hot mess. His fingertips traced the protrusions of your shoulder blades in delicate patterns.

“That’s enough,” he sighed, shifting his free hand to cup your jaw.

Rather than moving back yourself, you let Hawks remove your mouth from his length, carefully pulling you back until his tip slipped from your lips. You peered up at him through glistening eyes, and was startled by the absolute look of adoration on his face.

“Good girl,” he praised, petting your cheek with a large hand.

He leaned over, hooked at arm around your waist, and pulled you up onto your feet.

“Good fucking girl,” he praised again, voice hoarse and blissful, before pepping your lips and face with soft kisses.

He pressed against your mouth and carefully dipped his tongue inside, tilting his head and smooshing your cheeks together. You whined as he explored, as if ensuring you hadn’t wasted a single drop. His hands caressed your exposed back, holding you tight against his clothed chest.

The taste of champagne and your own essence lingered, weakening the longer you kissed, until all that remained was just him.

Eventually, Hawks pulled back, and started tugging at your dress. You helped him pull the straps back up and sighed when he smoothed out the fabric with careful hands, leaning back to ensure you were properly covered.

You reached for your hair, but found his feathers beat you to it, tugging at loose strands. His own hands joined in. With some careful finger-combing, and reassembling your ties and pins, he returned your updo to something more presentable.

You were pulled into an embrace, bare feet tiptoeing atop his dress shoes.

“I should have asked first,” Hawks commented softly, his wings flapping again.

“I don’t recall complaining,” you retorted smoothly.

He hummed, satiated, and started fumbling with your dress again.

“Are you okay?” he asked softly.

“Of course,” you replied brightly.

You held onto his shoulders for balance, and stepped back into your shoes. Hawks tucked himself away before one of his feathers delivered his belt into his hands. Before he could thread it through the belt loops, you gently smacked his hand away and used your fingers to tuck his undershirt back in. He laughed quietly, but otherwise made no effort to stop you.

After some fiddling with his tie and smoothing out the wrinkled shoulders on his coat, Hawks pulled you back into an embrace, forcing your head to lean into his shoulder.

For a moment, you stayed like that, hyper-focused on the muffled music carried down the hall and Hawks’ large hands curled against your back. He swayed slightly where he stood, moving you, as well. It likely wasn’t intentional, as he was just helping you down from a scene; but, you couldn’t help but think about how he couldn’t do this with you out there.

A slow dance with his assistant-

How improper…

He pulled away and gave you a final look over.

“Oh, my - ugh-” you uttered, realizing that something was missing.

With a grin, Hawks reached into his pocket, and fished out something small and wadded up. He held it up to show it you, as if triumphantly.  You stared at the sight, briefly expecting him to hand them over. However, before you could even think to reach, Hawks was shoving the dainty material back into his pants pocket.

“I’m keeping these,” he answered boldly.

His eyes locked on yours, expressing an unspoken offering, that he would gladly hand them over if you only asked. However, the thought of him walking around this stupid party with your underwear wadded up in his pocket, like some kind of trophy, was oddly alluring.

“Yes, sir,” you answered, lips twitching into a faint grin.

You pulled away from Hawks, and heard a pleased, chuckle-like sound escape him.

“Do I look okay?” you asked, stopping at the door.

“Yeah,” he breathed.

Better, actually; but, Hawks decided not to say that out loud.

The Domestic Life w/hawks

warnings: slightly spicy/implied sex/breeding, neutral reader

the sun shone through the curtains, casting a delicious glow across your bare back. Keigo watched as you slowly breathed in and out; completely content in whatever dream filled moment you were experiencing. This had become a habit for him; waking up an hour before you just to watch you sleep. He loved it, just watching how peaceful you looked, laying in his bed, under his sheets and up until a few hours ago in his arms, His honey coloured eyes drifted over to the wedding band that sat proudly on your finger; subconsciously he fiddled with the matching one that sat on his ring finger. If you had told him years ago that one day he was going to settle down; he would’ve laughed, but you changed that, you changed him. You let the little bird out of his cage and offered him something the hero commission could never of; you offered him your heart and he adored you for it.

His eyes drifted over to look at your face, moving his hand he tucked the few strands of hair that was blocking his view, he gently caressed your jaw with his knuckles, his heart swelling when you ever so slightly moved pressing your face to his hand, your body chasing his warmth and love. It was moments like these that made Keigo wonder what was next for the both of you. You had gotten married in secret and celebrated by disappearing into the countryside, god how he never wanted to leave that little cottage the both of you called home for that week, it made him wonder what it would be like if he just disappeared with you; abandoning the hero life, he’d take you somewhere deep in the countryside, he could picture the little cabin you would both make a home of, the cobblestone path leading to the front entrance, the beautiful garden that you’d both lounge in, cold mornings where both of you would stay cuddled up in bed, bare skin on bare skin the sheets messed up from the night before. Maybe you’d even start a family with him, keigo thought he’d make a pretty shit dad but as long as he had you, he could conquer the world. Both of you had talked about having children, you were like an open book to him and he appreciated every page of you, you had told him; that of course you wanted kids the idea of becoming a parent was one you wanted to indulge in, he however was a little more apprehensive, don’t get him wrong he wants kids 3 or 4 to be specific, however he wants to be there for them, being the number 2 hero meant he wasn’t around a lot; it almost killed him just to leave you at home while he left for work, how on earth would he manage with kids, what would they look like? would they look like you? smaller versions of his angel, that sounded almost too tempting, to see what the combination of him and his angel would look like. Focusing on you again, he wondered what you’d look like pregnant, so beautiful with your swollen belly, full of his children. The idea of breeding you was beginning to turn him on, after all in the end you had left the decision up to him; telling him that it was his choice to decide when you both would start trying for children, you were so good for him; you wanted him comfortable with the idea before forcing him head first into fatherhood. But maybe he had decided. Yeah he had. He wasn’t gonna kept delaying his life in order to keep others happy, he’s going to make sure him and his baby have the happiest life possible.

Glancing over your body, he imagined how he’d do it, maybe just bending you over?; maybe he’d keep you in bed for days and just fill you up, over and over again. Folding you into the mating press, running his hands all over your body, nipping and marking you all over, even thinking about this set off a part of his brain into a feral frenzy, his member straining against his boxers, oh god how bad he was going to- “whats got chu thinking s'much this morin” your voice still slurred from just waking up, your eyes squinting at him adjusting to the light, god you looked perfect to him, this being your purest form something he and only he got to see. “oh baby if only you knew”

My Masterlist

——————————

Hoshi City - Friday, late afternoon

The air was crisp, with a little bit of breeze moving between the buildings. It was supposed to be the coldest temperature of the winter season thus far tonight.

But you were smiling as a small child passing by bundled up in their stroller waved out to the two of you on your patrol. Your partner Quake waved cheerfully to the child and their mother as well before he looked back to you.

“So you finally got Eraser to say yes, huh?” The tall, muscular hero asked with a little surprise.

“Well I’ve been wanting to go to that restaurant with him since they opened. I love Italian food, but it’s kind of hard to find the real thing around here you know?” You’d been bugging Aizawa for a very long while about it, yes. But he was always so busy with his work at UA. You understood of course, but sometimes it was just nice to have a chance to play at being a normal couple for once.

“He’s coming in tonight to stay for the whole weekend this time.” You added a bit proudly. It really had been ages since you could last say that. “So we’ll go there to that Italian place for dinner later. And I’m going to try and get him to keep his laptop closed Saturday as well to go out on patrol with me.” Honestly you were almost more excited about that idea than the actual dinner too. Because working together in the field just brought out a whole other level of trust and intimacy. One you missed experiencing with him ever since he left full time hero work to become a teacher really.

You were so thankful that your normal teammates were this flexible too. Yet you still asked one more time regardless. “And you’re sure that you’re okay going solo for tonight’s patrol though?” There were only three of you normally at your small hero agency. Yourself, Quake, and Sunstar. But Sunstar had had her sister’s wedding to go to out of the country this week. She still wouldn’t be back until tomorrow morning.

Quake just scoffed however. “I’ll be fine. Just as long as I can get some sleep once Sunny’s back in. Remember, Maya’s birthday party is Sunday afternoon too. And my wife’s still wanting me to help with the party setup.”

Maya was Quake’s oldest daughter, and you still couldn’t believe she was already going to be six years old. You remembered when she was just a babbling little rolly-polly ball of a baby. It was amazing how time flew.

“You should bring Eraser by the party if he’s still in town by then. He likes kids on cupcake and fruit punch sugar highs right?” Quake added with a chuckle, of course already knowing that statement was actually somewhat based in truth. Despite the harsh exterior, Eraser definitely had a soft spot for children.

And your smirk in response made it obvious that you knew all too well what topic was then coming next.

“You really need about four or five of your own you know? You two have been dating long enough to know if it’s for real by now. I mean, come on.” Quake teased a little.

You didn’t mind the bit of ribbing. Quake’s heart was always in the right place. He just didn’t want to see anyone waste their time was all. But you and Eraser’s careers still always seemed to get in the way in the end. “You realize how long I had to work on him just to convince him he was ready to get his own cat, right?” You asked somewhat seriously.

But Quake only laughed. “Or maybe you two just adopt Eri for real one day, instead of passing her around the UA staff like you have been. You adore her don’t you? She needs a set of loving, permanent parents. And Shinso is already in as the big brother role right? Might as well keep him too.”

“We can’t just kidnap a teenager! Hitoshi does have his own family you know.” You laughed a little at that. “And yeah, of course Eri deserves the world after all she’s been through,” You agreed. “But…” Were you really good enough for her? “How do you even know when you’re capable of being a good parent?”

“Oh, that answer’s easy.” Quake replied immediately. “You’re never ready. You’re never good enough. Never. But you keep improving. You get through it together one day at a time. You love them and you do the best you can. Just like hero work. You’ll win some days, and fall short on others. But you just keep moving forward. You’re their protector and biggest cheerleader for the rest of your life. That’s the important part.”

You sighed a little. “And who made you so damn inspirational today anyway?”

“It was the street tacos we had for lunch. Well, your lunch and my breakfast since I slept in to cover for you tonight of course. But I swear cilantro makes me more thoughtful!” He joked.

“Okay, there’s the weird Quake I know. He’s back now.” You were smirking again, the two of you just stepping off the curb and onto a crosswalk then when you saw that first blur in your peripheral vision.

Coming down the street like a missile, it was locked onto the both of you as your muscles started to tense. In fractions of a second, almost involuntarily, you had made a large shield of light as protection. While Quake had lifted up the pavement just with his mind to do the same. Dirt, concrete, and asphalt rose simultaneously to shoot up into a defensive wall alongside your light.

But the monster only slammed into both those barriers with no hesitation, creating a shockwave that blew out all windows in a three block radius.

UA High School

The chalk squeaked as it cut across the blackboard. It was the last minutes of the last lecture of the afternoon, and Aizawa knew without even looking back that too many in his class were already mentally elsewhere. Teenagers now thinking of their Friday night soon ahead, daydreaming pitifully as if they hadn’t cumulatively turned in the worst excuses for mission debriefing paperwork he’d ever seen earlier.

The paper pushing side of things might not be as flashy a part of the job. But if you couldn’t outline proper mission reports, and the Hero Commission ever had to question or kick back your agency’s filings one too many times, you could quickly find yourself without any income at all.

He was writing out the key points of this yet again on the board, this time with references for mandatory readings over the weekend on how the Hero Commission processed and divvied up hero salaries based on multiple factors of your submissions when the most obnoxious pop song erupted as a ringtone from one corner of the class.

The embarrassed squeal of Mina Ashido and the terrified rummaging through her backpack that followed was finally enough to have Eraser then glaring back over his shoulder.

“Idiot,” Bakugo grumbled under his breath, yet with a smirk that announced his clear anticipation of whatever punishment may befall her. This class was finally getting a little more interesting in his opinion.

“I forgot to turn it back off after break! I’m so sorry!” The pink skinned girl apologized loudly to both Aizawa and her equally disappointed looking class president Tenya Iida, even as she shot a glare in return to the smug Bakugo before looking back to the front of the class. “It was an accident, Mr. Aizawa, I swear, I-”

But before Eraserhead had even decided the suitable punishment, he saw her expression completely change as her eyes really met the phone’s screen.

“Mina?” Her friend Uraraka asked a little more worriedly, quickly picking up on that expression as well.

“It’s a news alert.” Mina blurted, standing up suddenly as she continued to read the message, scrolling quickly. “Another nomu attack! Two nomus! It’s happening right now!”

And it was like a wave of invisible energy ignited through the room at those words, palpable as the other students tensed and many left their own seats to start crowding her to be able to read the alert as well.

“We’ll kill them all this time! Dumb bastards! Where are they!?” Bakugo nearly took her phone from her as he rushed up, but she twisted her body quickly away from him.

“It’s-” She paused again when another awful realization struck her as she continued to read. But her anxious eyes rose back to Aizawa soon enough as she had to tell him. “It’s Hoshi City.”

The room fell briefly silent as he just stared back at her.

“That’s where Ms. (Y/N)’s agency is.” Midoriya mumbled nervously though, unable to help himself. But he kept going even though they could all still hear him. “It’s a smaller city, surrounded by rural areas. Her agency is the only one within a very wide range, there would be no backup immediately available. They don’t even have any sidekicks as the crime rate there doesn’t warrant more than three pro heroes normally. But she said Sunstar was going to be on vacation this week, so that only leaves Ms. (Y/N) and Quake, they-”

The hit was audible as Bakugo slapped the back of the muttering teen’s head hard enough to interrupt him. “Shutup, you weirdo! You think we don’t know that!?”

But instead of being angry at the cheap shot, Midoriya only looked ashamed for a moment as he realized how insensitive it might have been to reiterate all that aloud.

Yet the tension simply grew as Aizawa’s neutral expression and continued silence betrayed very little. Only if the students were truly observant would they have noticed the new tension in him. His body wanted to fight, he actually wanted to move immediately.

“Class is dismissed.” He announced coldly. “I will notify another teacher to escort you to your dorms. This attack may only be a distraction, or the first of multiple. I’m sure the principal will decide to put UA on lockdown momentarily.”

“But we can’t just do nothing!” Kirishima cried out, no longer able to contain himself as they all watched Aizawa moving towards the door.

“Iida, you’re responsible until another teacher arrives.” Was all Aizawa answered though, his focus now singular and far away from this room as his pace quickened.

Iida only hesitated briefly before responding forcefully though, “Yes…yes, sir!” and then Aizawa was gone.

——————————

Eraserhead was already in a full run as soon as the door to his classroom had closed behind him. His mind was calculating every possible option of how he could get to you. But each was only a dead end.

Even by bullet train it was still a forty minute trip. And the next train didn’t leave for over an hour. He was supposed to have been on that train tonight actually.

You shared his faculty apartment here with him on campus occasionally, even doing guest lectures and trainings with the students at times. But you also had your own apartment near your agency. You’d wanted him to come stay there with you this weekend, having worn him down about finally having a little personal time together again.

As he rounded the blind corner in the hallway, he had to quickly slide, dodging Present Mic in an instant as the two nearly collided. The other pro hero had been in full run as well. And by the expressions that the two old friends traded in that single moment, they both knew the other was already fully aware of the situation.

“We can take my car!” Mic said quickly, grabbing Aizawa briefly by the forearm.

“We’ll only get stuck on the highway.” Eraser rejected the idea immediately. It was late Friday afternoon. Businesses and schools would all be closing now, everyone getting on the road at the same time to commute home. Not all the roads from here to there even had emergency lanes. There’d be no way quickly through.

But his face was finally starting to betray more emotion as he could see that fear also mirrored behind Mic’s yellow tinted glasses. “Mic, we can only try to call in help for them. It’s all we can do.” It had to be someone who could fly, someone who could cross large distances in a short time.

He started to move again, continuing to his original destination of the teachers’ group office. Where their computers and hardline phones were. But he kept talking to Mic even as they now ran together. “Is it on television yet?”

“No idea, I was in class too. Midnight called my cell, asked me where you were. She was with some kids down at the gym. She’s coming back. I don’t know if-”

Principal Nezu’s calm voice interrupted over the intercom. “Attention staff and students, due to a confirmed and ongoing nomu attack in Hoshi precinct, UA is now on lockdown. Staff, please assist in escorting all students back to their dorms for the evening. We will report any further news as needed. Thank you.”

“I’ll text Midnight back, let her know to get our classes too for us,” Mic spoke quickly, already typing on his phone even in mid run.

As they did finally reach the group office and flung the door open, the mouse like Principal was there standing on a table as he lowered the microphone he’d just been speaking through.

All Might was there as well, his thin, drawn face looking immediately to Aizawa with concern even as the other passed right by him.

“Has someone already called Endeavor? Dragoon?” Aizawa asked as he went quickly to his own computer to start pulling up the direct hero agency hotlines that only the Hero Commission, schools like UA, and the police had access to for the most critical emergencies. Those numbers rang straight through and were always answered no matter what, unlike the public lines that may wait indefinitely in queue depending on current call volume.

“We did.” The Principal answered easily. “Endeavor’s personal vendetta against the nomus had him already on the way even before our call. But with the large distance he has to cover from his home city, his agency still estimated his flight time as over twenty minutes.”

“And Dragoon?” Eraser asked even as his eyes didn’t leave his computer screen, scrolling through the database for more flighted heroes that might be close enough to matter.

“She said she’d do her best. She was off the mainland, on an island mission when I called her.” All Might answered as well. “But she had a lot of open ocean to cross.”

“What about Hawks?” Mic butted in, even though he was now across the room turning on the massive flat screen television on the wall and starting to flip through the news channels.

Nezu frowned slightly. “His agency left him a voicemail for us on his cell phone. They didn’t know where he was currently. He didn’t pick up.”

“Typical, lazy ass flyboy!” Mic complained, even as he finally found a channel with a breaking news alert scrolling across the bottom and stopped on it.

“Here at channel 9 evening news, we have our helicopter en route to the remote scene! But as you can see from our local affiliate already on the ground, the damage is widespread for this normally quiet city!” A female news anchor called out excitedly as a shaky camera shot cut to a live street view of the small downtown area.

There was a haze of concrete dust still in the air, the exteriors of the buildings clearly cracked and windows shattered. Water shot out from broken water mains and pipes, while cars were strewn about up and down the street like used up toys.

Aizawa, Mic, All Might, and Nezu were all staring at the screen now, immediately analyzing the sight from so many combined years of experience. They could all envision the kind of quirks that could carve such a violent path.

But imagination became reality as the news anchor kept on while the camera view abruptly changed again.

“What you’re seeing now was sent in to us only moments ago, recorded earlier from a citizen’s phone not long after the initial attack! We apologize for any language or upsetting images. This is unedited footage!”

But any apology was just a mockery of course, as if these vultures didn’t live and die by the blood that spattered their camera lenses at times. Being the first to show something was often far more important than it being right or even decent to show to the general public.

Yet it was also undeniable that no one could have looked away either. Aizawa felt a tightening in his chest as he first heard your voice screaming from that TV screen for the people to get back.

The cellphone view was bouncing violently around as if its user was running as told, a metallic sound screeching in the distance before a car almost crushed him. The gnarled up vehicle flew past to crash right in front of him on the pavement as he cursed and slid.

But even through that shaky footage, Aizawa saw the distortion of one of your force fields. It was no off chance that the car had missed the man. You had protected him as it’d bounced off your field before meeting the pavement in front of him.

Yet now the man was somewhat trapped, his main path to escape blocked as he turned the camera skyward. “Holy shit!” The man cried as the blur of you and a crimson red nomu went over head to crash down into the storefront beside him, more glass and debris exploded outward with the force before the fight spilled back out into the street.

It was obvious that this wasn’t actually the beginning of the fight.

Aizawa stood now, taking in every additional detail as the camera got its first full shot of you then. Your costume was already badly torn and dirtied, your mask half missing and blood running readily down your face. But both your eyes were open, that unfaltering focus glowing in them as you dodged the monster’s next strike, then landing hit after hit of your own on it before you took to the sky once more.

You wanted it to follow you. Aizawa knew that immediately. You couldn’t fight as hard as you needed to with so many people and buildings still around.

But then there was the second nomu, solid black as it entered the frame as well. They were hunting you in tandem, like wolves encircling prey as they chased your already injured form into the sky and out of the shot again.

“Where’s her partner?” All Might asked aloud, but like all of them was surely already afraid of that answer.

“I know him. His hero mame is Quake,” Eraser answered, his scowl deepening as this anger grew. “If he was still able to move at all, he wouldn’t let her face this alone.”

“Goddammit,” Mic hissed, “He’s got a wife and kids too doesn’t he?”

“Three daughters.” Aizawa replied as the dread in the room deepened.

“But he’s alive!” Midoriya’s sudden voice intruded as all the teachers looked to the doorway in surprise.

“We were asked to wait for a teacher to escort us back to our dorms!” Iida yelled, hands physically on Midoriya as he tried to pull him back out of the room.

Yet the other students seemed to be ignoring Iida entirely as Bakugo stepped in next, forcing his way past the both of them. “Round face found another video on her phone. The nomus broke that earth quirk guy’s back, so (Y/N) had to leave him.”

Uraraka ignored Bakugo’s rude nickname for her as she entered the room too, but at least a little more meekly. “Quake has a rock dome up protecting the other side of town where they evacuated most of the people to. (Y/N) helped him to that safer spot and then led the nomus away.”

“You really do have the most insubordinate class, Aizawa.” Nezu commented in his odd, light tone.

Iida and Momo Yaoyoruzu were the only ones that looked properly ashamed at the principal’s comment however as the rest of class 1-A just filtered into the room.

“Well you can’t expect us just to stand around like a bunch of extras when shit is hitting the fan!” Bakugo growled.

Mic rolled his eyes even as All Might tried to hurry over to help control the situation. “Young Midoriya and young Bakugo, we must really insist that you go back to the dorms for your own safety in case another attack occurs. I’ll escort you!”

“But can she hold two of them off on her own or not?” Bakugo only asked instead as cold and serious as anything as he ignored the skinny All Might’s pleas. Bakugo’s eyes were focused on Aizawa only.

“Kacchan!” Midoriya admonished in shock and dismay at the harsh question.

Eraser’s glare moved onto Bakugo briefly, but not because of the impertinent question. The boy was right to be so disatisfied. Aizawa also hated that he could do nothing more for you than be here right now. And he hadn’t seen any flighted hero in the registry that could possibly get there any faster than Endeavor or Hawks now. Though why wouldn’t Hawks answer his agency’s calls? But that’s when he did have at least one other idea.

Weak, like grasping at straws, but he would do or try anything if it meant saving more lives, including your own. “Tokoyami!” Aizawa called out suddenly, disregarding Bakugo fully as Tokoyami only looked up in surprise at his name.

Aizawa’s voice was now fully commanding, leaving no question that this was an order as he continued. “Get your phone out and you tell Hawks to go to Hoshi city. Now.”

Nezu, All Might, and Mic all looked at Aizawa curiously. But it was only Nezu who smiled a little as Tokoyami frantically began texting as told.

Aizawa was very clever in guessing others’ weaknesses after all. And sometimes in emergencies even heroes could find their own manipulative sides.

Unknown location

Hawks groaned a little, feet dangling off from the ledge of the cell phone tower he now sat upon. The cold wind was cutting across his face as he read through Tokoyami’s increasingly pleading messages. Putting his phone on do not disturb after his agency’s first calls to him didn’t seem to be quite enough.

-You’re the only one fast enough to help now. Endeavor is coming from farther away, he likely won’t be there in time. Please answer.

-I know you always have your phone on you.

-Hawks, please. We all know her at UA. She doesn’t deserve this. No backup is close. She’s fighting them all alone.

Okay, so yes, his little bird of the night tag along had become slightly more than just a tool for getting information on UA as of late.

They’d spent just enough time together that Hawks might say he did care a bit about what happened to the kid by now.

But how could he explain to his teenage work study protege that they had no idea the political minefield they were now asking him to dive headfirst into? After Endeavor’s previous fight with the nomu that Hawks had secretly instigated and thereby had a front row seat for, the Hero Commission had explicitly asked him to keep his wings out of any further nomu instances for a while.

They didn’t want him to draw too much suspicion and risk his double agent status with the former League of Villains, now the Paranormal Liberation Front. There was too much to lose with him being the commission’s only informant and possible way to stop the coming war before it started.

Dabi and the others were only just starting to let him further into their organization. Everything was up to him in not taking a severe misstep now.

The phone only vibrated yet again though.

-Hawks. I probably shouldn’t even tell you this, but you’re always asking about my class. She’s also the romantic partner of my teacher Mr. Aizawa. Her loss would devastate him. I know it would even if he isn’t open about it. If there’s anything you can do at all. Please do!

“Romantic…partner?” Hawks’ gloved hand covered his face briefly in secondhand embarrassment as he spoke aloud to himself. “God…Tokoyami. Just say girlfriend, fuckbuddy…whatever. They shack up, they sleep together.” It happened in the hero community probably far more than anyone cared to admit.

But Eraserhead, seriously? There was a girl out there who had decided that out of all the heroes, that was the bed she wanted to hang around in? Really? Hawks’ curiosity was actually almost peaked now as to what kind of woman that could possibly be. Because he couldn’t imagine such a creature in his mind’s eye.

He almost started to type back reflexively before he stopped himself.

Wait…no. Oh, no this was bad. Was he really considering-

But how many people would have died the day Endeavor was attacked by the high end nomu if Hawks hadn’t been there to pull everyone out of the collapsing buildings?

Was this really okay?

A hero all by herself. A distress signal sent multiple times, and him here pretending that he couldn’t even hear it.

Ah…

……

….

Fuck it. He was still a hero wasn’t he? Even if things were complicated, if he could save someone, he had to try. He’d just have to weasel his way out of getting into real trouble with the Hero Commission later.

Hawks finally texted Tokoyami back as he stood then, wings spreading into the lowering sun.

-Eraser has a GF??? That I’ve got to see. I was patrolling in a cell service dead zone. And I try not to text and fly. I’ll do what I can. I’m sure I can beat old man Todoroki in a race to get there at least.

Hoshi City Outskirts

You were panting, forcing yourself back to standing through the incredible pain. You’d carried the fight to these fields outside of the city. The surroundings were gently rolling hills that flowered in the spring, but were still covered with soft winter grasses now as both nomus dove for you yet again with unreal speed.

They never seemed to tire, even as you steadily did.

The sun was getting lower and lower, the sky darkening in increments under an already overcast sky as you took yet another brutal hit that you couldn’t dodge quickly enough. You could hear cracking each time the blows connected.

Your bones were fracturing, the taste of blood strong in your mouth as you spit out some more of that red liquid as a mist in midair.

Your light energy wasn’t endless. Even with some sunlight still left for you to reabsorb, you couldn’t replenish the energy as fast as you were having to use it. And despite taking the beating that you now were, you still tried to hold some power in reserve instead of using it all for shielding.

If you used it all up now and still failed to stop the nomus, they’d only return to the city to finish what they’d started there.

You could still remember the furious look in Quake’s eyes as you’d had to leave him behind with his broken body. He hadn’t wanted you to go and take the enemy on alone. He’d begged you not to take such a risk.

But you’d only yelled back at him that there was no other option. Too many would have died in the city had you not drawn the nomus away. Maybe Quake’s own family among them if you hadn’t left when you did. The local hospital that his wife worked at and the elementary school that his children attended had been so near the original attack scene.

Yes, with every fiber of your being you were only trying to stall for time. Not for you, but for everyone else. There was no other way.

Yet you hadn’t considered that anyone save another pro hero would be foolish enough to follow you out here now.

Your eyes widened in surprise as you first heard that beat of helicopter blades.

Both nomus turned their heads at the sound, and you knew instantly that your plan had just changed entirely as your heart sank.

UA High School

“Hawks is on his way now.” Tokoyami affirmed, though still looking as uneasy as everyone else.

Mic huffed, still frustrated it’d take that long for any pro hero to respond regardless. “What kind of idiot ignores direct emergency line calls from his own agency to begin with?”

“Hawks is young, but he’s still the number two hero for a reason.” All Might offered, trying to keep the atmosphere from turning any more negative than it already was.

“Yeah, and that reason is just because you retired!” Mic grumbled. “That and people dig his stupid flyboy look for whatever reason.”

“Says the other guy with yellow glasses and in your face blonde hair…seriously Mic?” Midnight chastised as she entered the room. She understood all too well the stress here, but this kind of bickering wasn’t going to help anyone.

But she wasn’t alone. After having left the other students (except class 1-A obviously) at the dorms with Vlad King, Cementoss, and other faculty to protect them, she’d had one student that had insisted in coming back to be here with Aizawa instead.

Her heart couldn’t say no either to that request as Hitoshi Shinso moved from her side to rush to his mentor Eraserhead.

Neither of those two knew what to say to one another however as they exchanged looks.

“Eri is safe with Mirio, Nejire, and Tamaki in the third year dorms,” Midnight added.

But before anything else could be said, the news anchor’s voice grew excited and louder once more. “And our helicopter has now reached the active battleground! The remaining hero is standing her ground against the two nomus! After All Might’s final battle in Kamino and Endeavor’s brutal fight in Hosu, we have upgraded our former traffic helicopters with the latest in HD cameras and long distance specialty microphones than can filter out even the unwanted sounds of the helicopter!”

It was sickening. Even now they were still advertising their equipment for their own ratings sake.

But this fight wasn’t the same as in Kamino or Hosu. In both those instances All Might and Endeavor, the strongest heroes of the modern age, had been the villains’ only targets.

By contrast, you were not famous. You were not a symbol. You were only another hero in their way as the monsters’ attention had instantly shifted to the noisy helicopter at its arrival.

And that was the first moment that Aizawa’s anger and adrenaline had faltered to fall into real fear. The notion of losing you had been lurking underneath all along of course. He knew all too well that nomus fought to kill. He knew what was at stake for you.

But when you’d been fighting alone, you still could have chosen to escape with some breath left in your body at the last moment, it still could have been an option in the end.

Now that door had been closed. You would have to defend those in the helicopter as well. It was no different than if Eri had been standing suddenly in that field, or Shinso, or anyone else that you cared about. Even if that news crew were strangers to you, you would not value your life as worth more than their own. Because he knew you.

You would sacrifice yourself.

Aizawa heard one of the female students gasp as you’d struck the red nomu out of the sky with a sudden, brilliant white blast of energy just before the monster had reached the helicopter.

“Fucking media assholes!” Bakugo yelled, clenching his fists as the helicopter still didn’t move any farther away after the near miss.

And no teacher in the room thought to correct his language, only watching that HD live feed together as they all came to silent similar conclusions as Aizawa.

———————————

Hoshi City Outskirts

When you struck one nomu after the other back down with those energy blasts, you felt the ache all the way through your burning muscles. And it was well enough to get their attention again as they launched back at you full force, the sharper claws of the red one nearly meeting your throat.

The energy you used for your attacks was the same that you used to fly with and create your force fields. There was so little left then, even as your body glowed bright white with that energy output in the now setting sun.

You were a guiding light in that moment, a true target for the enemy as you took hit after hit again in order to draw focus away from the helicopter. You only raised thin force fields brief enough to slow what could have otherwise been fatal blows.

But that was still its own damage as well. Few understood the way your force fields really worked. Every hit against them you still felt. That recoil force went through your bones and tissue even as the monsters struck your shields. It reduced the direct damage but only by so much.

Yet you refused to scream or cry. You just had to dig deeper. Before you lost consciousness, before the setting sun left you in darkness with no other real light to take back.

Yes, you were losing strength faster and faster. So everything had to be now. All you had, it had to be now.

They both slammed you down next, into the ground like a meteor coming to earth. You heard and felt your right arm break fully that time.

You could no longer use it as you stared up into the monsters’ dead eyes and open maws of fangs.

You were no All Might. You were no Endeavor. And you would never pretend to be. But everyone needed to remember that outside of those few godlike figures, there were countless more nobodies just like yourself. Heroes that no one worshipped, that no one may ever remember. But in the end, ones who would still give every last bit of their own bodies to defend those who could not defend themselves.

You had no choice. Every time you let the nomus get any distance on you again, if only so you could take a breath, they just went straight for the helicopter to try and kill all those on board.

There was no other way you realized. Two final attacks to try and finish them both. Even if it was gruesome, even if it could cost you everything.

Just this quickly was how fast a life could change.

As your glow grew ever brighter and brighter, you thought more of your family, and all of your friends. You prayed that they could forgive you. If it ended up that this really was the end, you hoped that they would understand that if there had been any other way you would have taken it.

But there was no other way now as your one good arm seared in pain while the last real remnants of your energy overloaded through it.

You forced your bloodied palm upward to splay out against the abdomen of the red nomu, the strongest of the two. And he seemed to realize that something had changed in your intent then.

But it was too late. You did what you had to do, reaching farther into yourself than you ever had before.

The blast of light from your hand was the biggest you could ever remember making. It actually blew through him, viscera and bone vaporizing as the hole was big enough to actually see through before his body crumpled down into the crater that had been made when your own body had last hit the ground.

The black nomu tried to take to the air again then, whether in a surprise burst of self preservation on its own part or just another attempt to go back after the helicopter, it didn’t matter.

You could no longer fly then. And as you staggered forward, raising your barely working arm to him as well, you already knew that you couldn’t make that previous kind of blast twice. But for him you did something equally desperate and horrible in your own mind as you made just enough of a force field with all you had left to enclose around his throat instead as he tried to evade you.

Even if the Hero Commission had approved the destruction of nomus based on the fact that they were more a homunculus of former living body parts than a real human any longer, you still felt sickened as you saw him begin to struggle in midair.

You’d used your fields to capture enemies countless times before, but always alive. Never like this as you clenched your fist as tight as you could with the last of your will, tears edging at the corner of your eyes from the horrific act rather than the pain.

And he only gave one last inhuman cry before his throat collapsed, followed by the audible snapping of his neck vertebrae. His body hit the grass with an anticlimactic thud as you just stood with the cold wind biting across the bloodied scene.

You could have sworn you heard distant cheering from the helicopter then. But in that surreal and terrible moment, you never felt for one moment that you’d actually won.

Somehow your instincts still knew better. Yet there was truly nothing left for you to fight or defend with. You didn’t even know how you were still standing before a razor sharp tendril from the red nomu abruptly pierced through your back and out through the front of your abdomen like a spear.

Your remaining breath left your body at the force of the hit. The pain and shock felt numb and distant however as you saw the monster out the corner of your eye. He was crawling steadily out from the crater behind you even with his entrails still dragging the ground behind him.

So many quirks forced into one undying body…they really were abominations.

He ripped that tendril back out of you just as quickly though as you saw your own blood and tissue splatter to the ground.

Your vision was fading even as you tried to lock your knees to keep from collapsing. The will to live and the adrenaline alone was all that was keeping you here now.

You had failed.

UA High School

Aizawa was sitting down, as if he wasn’t in this room at all. He looked even paler than usual.

Present Mic was one one side of him, Hitoshi Shinso on the other.

But what could anyone possibly say to him? They’d seen everything. You’d been forced to use your quirk in brutal ways that they knew would still have haunted you even if nothing else had happened after. Yet even in that momentary flirt with victory, it still had been too little, too late.

A shot to the back, through the back that you’d had nothing left to stop.

This could be the last time that anyone would ever see you alive and they all knew it.

All Might couldn’t help but be reminded of his master Nana Shimura’s death as he gritted his teeth, and of his friend Sir Nighteye’s death so much more recently.

Mic and Midnight were thinking of Oboro now. Those same painful feelings resurfacing as well.

It was never right or fair when these things happened.

“Endeavor or Hawks should be close now,” Shinso tried more desperately however, even with his own voice wavering. The silence was just too unbearable otherwise. “They could take her to a hospital, there’s a Level 1 trauma center one town over. It’s the best in the area.”

Mic only gripped Eraser’s shoulder as Aizawa said nothing in return.

Midoriya was looking to All Might now, the beginnings of those tears in the boy’s eyes that the former number one hero had chided him about letting flow too easily so many times before.

But this was not one of those times to hold back emotion. All Might put an arm around Midoriya even while inwardly still praying for some sort of miracle.

But they wouldn’t be called miracles if they happened every day. Hope was almost non existent now.

“The nomu has stopped moving! The crimson nomu that was approaching the badly wounded hero has suddenly stopped!” The reporters broke their own shocked silence to take notice of this.

“And…there’s a fire! There’s a fire in the grass!”

Shoto Todoroki looked back up immediately at that as did all of the room, expecting the orange and red flames of Endeavor and maybe the chance of that last minute rescue after all.

But it was only like another punch to the gut as Bakugo all but snarled in realization. The flames were blue. “That patchwork piece of shit! He just waltzes in at the end again! Fucking coward!”

Aizawa’s quirk activated involuntarily at that, some kind of final emotional reserve breaking within him. His glowing red eyes bored through that screen in such utter internal hatred as his hair lifted up off his shoulders at the sight of Dabi now casually walking towards you.

————————————————

Hoshi City Outskirts

Dabi had seen well enough. The sun had set at last, and he knew your time was over.

The nomus were at his command of course. And it was his job to signal when to bring them back or what was left of them anyway. The red one would regenerate fine. The black one whose neck you had snapped might take a little more work. He wasn’t sure if you’d actually killed that one or not. But it didn’t matter. As long as they weren’t completely vaporized like with the Endeavor fight, the parts could all be reused.

The point of all this had actually been to collect more nomu donor pieces. They’d specifically targeted an area that the top ten heroes would have more trouble reaching. If they could defeat some lesser heroes here and there, those heroes’ corpses were like bargain grocery shopping for the doctor.

But then you came along. And things actually got a little interesting.

It’d been a rather good fight really. Not that one sided boring shit like watching All Might in his prime or Endeavor with lesser villains just steamrolling through the opposition.

You’d fought your heart out. And you weren’t even afraid to play dirtier in the end. It still hadn’t worked out for you of course, but Dabi felt compelled to appreciate this a little more up close and personal before the very end.

And he was pleasantly surprised as you lifted your head at his approach. So you could still see and hear even with that amount of blood loss?

“Are you just too stubborn to die or something?” Dabi taunted. One hand in his pocket, but the other still ready to unleash more flames in an instant if needed. For now only a protective ring of fire circled you both to keep that helicopter at a distance.

And he’d seen a lot of faces at the edge of death. Heroes, villains, and nobodies alike who he’d all burned down at one time or another. But there was still something refreshing in that stare of yours even as you didn’t immediately respond to him. You didn’t look hateful, or angry, or even afraid in that moment. There was a calmness. As if you were just what you were and he was what he was. Like any two fated people meeting in this cold, starlit field tonight.

But he still tried again regardless, wanting more reaction. “So was it all worth it, hero? Does throwing your life away really serve that greater good you’ve all been brainwashed to believe in?” He asked cynically even as he knew he really needed to be exiting soon before others finally came.

———————————

You were still standing as he approached. You could hear Dabi’s words, but it was like listening to something far away. Like a television someone had left on in another room. Maybe it was sheer willpower, or maybe your body was on some kind of autopilot now. But you were doing something you’d never done before.

He didn’t seem to notice, because he was watching your face. But even that dark blue light from his flames was giving you something to use. You were taking that light energy and making shields again, but inside yourself. You were holding your own body together, slowing the blood loss with internal pressures applied.

You did choose to try and talk then, to keep his eyes on your lips rather than the faint glow that had to be coming from that hole in your stomach. You covered the wound as much you could with the hand from your unbroken arm.

“I don’t think I’m special…if you’re wanting some kind of valiant speech…forget it.” You breathed.

Why they liked to talk so much sometimes, you’d never understand. But you could oblige if it was buying you even seconds more of time. It seemed futile still, but you owed it to everyone you loved to just keep trying to stay alive until the true end.

“Thenwhy,” he pressed, clearly not satisfied with that. “Why die for nothing?”

“I thought you guys were all about choice…” You met his cold eyes again then. It took so much just to keep forming those words, but you had to do it. “I choose to suffer so that others don’t have to…I can help people. So I do. It’s nothing deeper than that. Life would only feel wasted if I stood aside and did nothing….this is the only thing that does make it right.”

—————————

Dabi didn’t know if these answers made him more frustrated with you or not. It seemed like ages ago now when hero killer Stain’s ideals had first lured him into joining the former League of Villains.

But oddly, he wondered then if Stain himself would have believed your words.

He smirked cruelly even as he felt himself still hesitating. “A hero that doesn’t think they’re special, and wants to suffer just to alleviate burden from others? Sounds a little masochistic don’t you think?”

Actions always spoke louder than words, but he’s the one that had pressed you to talk. It’s not like he could really mock you too much for the simple answers.

He should have already killed you though. He needed to go. Was he really just in this good of a mood after watching your fight? Or did he believe you deep down, and was it that nostalgia for Stain coloring his judgement now?

But hell, even Shigaraki had often spoken about being free to kill the things he didn’t like. Which still implied leaving the far fewer things he did likealive.

Dabi didn’t know you. Not your real name, not anything. But he knew something with potential when he saw it. Something that would still be wasted and wouldn’t exist again if your corpse just went to the doctor’s chop shop to end up as spare parts for the nomus still in progress.

No…he was about to do something impulsive here. Something he might live to regret.

He spoke up again, knowing he could be heard all the while with the communicator they’d given him hidden in his ear. “Ujiko, go ahead and pull us back. She’s not what you were looking for. Leave her here.”

And at that, thick, black substance ran from both nomus’ mouths immediately, the sludge expanding to cover them until they disappeared through those portals.

Dabi could feel the black goop rising in his own throat as well even as the two of you made eye contact once more.

He grinned at you, even as he first heard the flap of large wings in the distance. He really had almost waited too long. But how interesting. Would even Hawks be able to get you help in time? Or was it already too late?

“Good luck.” Dabi growled through the black liquid, a final taunt to you even as he shot a parting burst of flames to incinerate Hawks feathers that tried to reach him as if to stop his escape.

Was it all for show on Hawks’ part? Maybe, maybe not. But if you lived, Dabi already knew what he was going to ask of the winged hero next. An all new test of loyalty with you involved would be something further entertaining at least.

This wasn’t over.

————————————

You could only be left staring as Dabi disappeared just like the nomus through the portal. He could have easily incinerated you as well before leaving for as close as he’d been standing to you. You wouldn’t have been able to make a shield strong or fast enough right now for that level of heat.

But the flames had completely circumvented you as they’d gone for Hawks’ feathers alone.

Why?

“Hey, let’s go.”

You didn’t even realize you were trembling until you felt a heavy jacket suddenly fall around your shoulders. You looked to the source of the new voice, the jacket’s owner actually, just as you were unceremoniously picked up into Hawks’ arms.

Emergencies didn’t really leave time for consent. But it still startled you a little, even as you could tell he was trying not to aggravate the broken parts of you anymore than necessary.

Yet before he could even take off, the news helicopter came nearer than ever before. No doubt wanting this dramatic final shot as your fingers clenched reflexively against his chest.

You’d never even met Hawks before, but you could see the brief annoyance in his eyes as the wind of the helicopter blades forced him to fold his wings around his front to protect you.

Yet that wasn’t the only thing incoming. It looked like a red hot comet streaking in, blinding for a moment in the dark. The number one hero landed only feet away, and even from here you could see the disgust on his own face and feel the heat emanating from his body.

“You let them get away!?” He barked at Hawks.

Despite Endeavor’s harsh reputation, even then you still saw that anger for what it was in the moment. He was furious at himself for clearly being too late.

You thought Hawks understood this too as he didn’t even argue back. Though he was still yelling over the sound of the watching helicopter. “They’re gone! I’m taking her to Tsuki Hospital! Head back into the city, number one! I’m sure others are hurt or worse!”

And with that Hawks took off instantly, but you could tell he still tried to shield you from the cold as he held you close against him.

As you saw Endeavor’s trail of flame launch skyward as well, but in the direction of your city, you could only hope that your sacrifice hadn’t all been in vain. But you couldn’t fall apart any further now with those emotions. You were still concentrating to hold off the blood loss with your quirk as much as you could.

Endeavor’s brief light had even given you a small boost, but it wouldn’t have been possible for him to carry you instead. For as hot as he had to burn to reach his full speed, the heat probably would have killed you outright.

As it was, Hawk was still even faster. That sense of speed of moving with him now was far greater than when you flew on your own. But it was as if the noise of the wind was going in and out after a bit. You realized then that it was actually your sense of hearing that was coming and going. Maybe he sensed your brief losses of consciousness as well as your body shifted against him.

It was a race to get you onto an operating table now before your body completely shutdown.

“Hey! You have to stay awake you know. They’re going to want to interview you tomorrow after some of the pain meds have worn off. You’ll be the new hot item for sure after all this.” He only half joked.

But maybe he saw that bit of odd look you gave him. Not ungrateful for the transport of course, but the last thing you wanted to care about was the media’s future interpretations of your actions today.

Yet Hawks just smiled, it looked cheesy even in the darkness. “Oh, that’s right. You’re Eraserhead’s girlfriend, yeah? I almost forgot. What a weird combination. No offense. So you hate the spotlight too then?”

And that was a comment that actually surprised you. Besides your oldest friends and some of those at UA who couldn’t help but see it, you didn’t broadcast your relationship to the public. It was a choice Aizawa had made from the very beginning. He thought that was the most rational decision to not have that closeness used against you.

“So…is Tokoyami really that much of a gossip then?” You forced yourself to ask, quickly assuming the likely source of the leak. Hawks wasn’t wrong to try and keep you talking though. You would have done the same with a trauma victim like this.

“Oh come on. That kid has grown on me, but you can’t tell me he doesn’t read gothic romance novels or something in his spare time. He thought it’d give me more incentive to rescue you. In the name of love and all.” Hawks taunted back a little. “But really…Eraser, huh? He’s kind of scary, right? You’re into Dracula look alikes or something?”

You half smiled. Yes, it was too surreal to be having this absurd kind of banter even as you might really be dying. “He was supposed…to take me out for Italian food tonight.”

Hawks glanced down at you again. You could tell he was a little surprised at the personal admission. But he stayed with his whole upbeat act regardless as he smirked. “Italian, huh? With wine and candlelight maybe? Well, a lot of people would swoon over the idea of a moonlit flight with me too you know.”

“Yeah? ….Lucky me.” You mumbled, just burying your face more against him. It didn’t matter if he was a stranger. It could be anyone holding you right now. You were just trying to find any additional warmth. Which only reminded you that you must be going further into shock. You couldn’t maintain your body heat any longer.

You did feel him tuck his head down though, trying to block the wind from your own as his chin rested against the top of your head.

“Please stay awake.” He reiterated, his upbeat tone falling away a little. “Don’t let them make you just another martyr.” And somehow you thought you almost heard a trace of guilt in those more serious words. “I know it’s hard. But we’re almost there.”

Tsuki Memorial Hospital

He’d made a show of telling Endeavor the hospital he was taking you to in front of the news team. It was a calculated risk. He needed the information broadcasted primarily for them to have an operating room already prepared by the time he got you there.

It was the closest Level 1 Trauma center in the region, specializing in treating the very worst of anything. Any hero worth their salt should already know that’s where he would be going, but maybe you had regular civilian family too. Maybe they’d have no idea where to find their daughter or sister otherwise until it might be too late.

It was hard for him to imagine what it’d be like to have those kind of normal relationships though. But he tried not to lose focus in that negative direction as he first caught sight of the lighted medical helipad on the hospital’s roof in the distance.

Good, they were smart enough to realize he’d rather land from the top, as he saw a gurney and supplies waiting at the ready with a small task force of hospital staff.

The first problem with declaring his destination beforehand however was of course the continued media presence.

From the corners of his vision, he could see the camera flashes going off from rooftops all around as he came in to land. The hospital wouldn’t allow the reporters past the front lobby, but the extreme zoom of the telescoping lenses of these hungry story hunters couldn’t be denied.

He could barely feel you still breathing, your eyes closed by the time his boots contacted with the roof. The dim light he’d noticed in your abdomen had now gone out. He’d known the whole time what you were trying to do with your quirk even as you’d lost so much more blood in just the time he’d been carrying you.

As he was then helping the medical team unwrap his blood stained jacket from you to get you carefully onto the gurney, your hand caught on one of his feathers. He let that quill release immediately so as not to pull anymore at your broken body. But he still saw your fingers close around the feather reflexively, holding it to you as your eyes opened just barely.

He could see that hint of life still in those eyes, though maybe he was just imagining that you’d really looked at him with something like regret before they rolled you quickly through the open doorway.

If you died, it’d be a failure he was truly complicit in. Because how many long minutes had he sat there debating on that cell phone tower before Tokoyami had finally nagged him to his senses? He could have gotten to you sooner if he’d only chosen to.

It wasn’t like him to second guess or doubt himself this fully though. But this was an even larger guilt starting to form, greater than just those flickers he still felt every time he looked at the scars on Endeavor’s face.

How many more times was the Hero Commission going to keep asking him to put others in harm’s way for the greater good?

Goddammit. His mouth was already moving before he could stop himself, “Has any family or friends come here yet to wait for her?” He asked one of the staff members that had stayed behind to pickup the rest of the carts they’d left on the rooftop.

They told him no one had. They also relayed to him the new information that many train lines and roads had been shutdown for the rest of the night in an abundance of caution in case another attack was still forthcoming.

“Unbelievable.” Hawks sighed. Something like this never would have happened during All Might’s time. A whole region now sheltering in place just because of a single incident. This was how little control or sense of safety the heroes could provide anymore.

But sadly, he had to somewhat agree as well. There was no telling if Dabi and the others were truly done for the night. Hawks couldn’t risk calling Dabi so soon to find out. But still feeling that weight of responsibility in all of this, he couldn’t leave you alone either.

“Can you show me to the waiting room please then?” He asked abruptly with his usual smile returning.

He wasn’t much of anything. But he did know how to play guard dog…or guard bird in this case anyway. Even if he hadn’t helped you in the beginning, he wouldn’t leave you so defenseless now.

Highway 201

All Might had called in a favor for them with Naomasa Tsukauchi of the police force, getting the roads opened back up just for them. But it was still a slow go. The trains had been shut down for the night. And while the rail lines cut an almost direct path between the cities, these roads that had been built years before winded and rose and fell with the countryside.

Even with Mic’s speeding, the trip had still felt agonizingly long.

Aizawa was silent for miles, looking out the passenger window of Mic’s car and seeing little but darkness and the occasional yellowish glow of the street lights as they cut through a small town here or there.

He’d tried to call the hospital earlier, but they’d refused to give out any patient information over the phone even when he finally did get through. Their only published phone number had just rang busy for the first several attempts. Yet he could only imagine the amount of reporters likely calling in to flood the lines right now.

How many would just be pretending to know you? Claiming to be relatives or worried friends when in reality they were only strangers sitting at computers, typing up news breaks they hoped to send soon enough. Everyone would want to be the first to know if you would live at all, or if you would be disabled or permanently scarred even if you did. If you would ever fight as a hero again after this.

As it was, he and Mic had had the foresight to let the police follow them as well, even as Mic raced ahead of them. It’d likely be the only way they’d be getting in themselves. With the police physically there to verify their identities and let the hospital staff know that they were legitimately part of your inner circle and deserving of being here tonight for you.

There would be days and many hours ahead to try and understand the implications of all this. Why Dabi had acted so unexpectedly in letting you go, and why your city was ever targeted at all.

But for now though Aizawa didn’t even know if you were alive or dead. Midnight was watching the news back at UA and texting anything relevant to his and Mic’s phones. But nothing more had been released since Hawks had first reached the hospital with you.

Tsuki Memorial Hospital - Private Waiting Room

Hawk’s legs were stretched out in front of him, his wings aching a little as they pressed uncomfortably against the chair back, each wing hanging wide over the armrests and down to the floor. If he was ever in one place for this long, it’d usually only be to lay down to sleep.

Sitting this way after a while was just awkward, even as he stared at his phone once more. The Hero Commission was already on him of course as the messages had begun coming across not long after he’d arrived here, and he only tried to deflect them for now.

-I’m still at the hospital, can’t talk freely.

-We expect you here tomorrow to discuss these developments.

-I’ll be there.

It wasn’t going to be good. He locked his phone again, leaning his head back against the wall with his goggles pushed up into his blonde hair.

Some Friday night this was.

There’d been silence for a good while, only a curious nurse or two coming by every now and then to check on him. He hadn’t missed the looks they gave him.

They might be sneaking cellphone photos or video of him for all he knew. But the only thing he felt improper about was your blood still drying on his sleeveless top. His jacket and gloves were in no better condition, but he’d shoved them under his chair for now.

He didn’t want them to just end up for sale in some morbid online auction if he let them out of his sight tonight.

But when the door finally opened again, he saw it was no hospital uniform walking in this time as he sat back up with renewed at
