Chief Warlock Hermione Granger-Malfoy and her husband, Auror Draco Malfoy, looking over the week’s to-do list.

I wasn’t planning on posting this yet, but as of today I have 800 followers! Thank you so much!! I appreciate all of you so so much! With all of your likes and comments over the past year and a half you’ve made drawing and posting art fun for me again. I feel like I have a reason to finish things for the first time in a looong time. So, have some early art! :D

Title: The Teacup Problem

Status:Work in Progress

Summary: Hermione spent the past several years working to guarantee the rights of house-elves. Over the past six months she’s begun to notice just how much her life has changed around her while she did so. She’s also come to realize why her new townhome was so cheap, and she’s not sure if she likes the answer…

I suppose I should have shared this when I first posted the story. Oh well!

I finished it!

I promise it has a happy ending, even though it doesn’t seem like it…

So, I personally don’t consider most of what happened in the movies canon (Probably because I read the books before the movies came out–well, books 1-4 anyway). As such I usually don’t think of Hermione having her Mudblood scar. However, given its prevalence in fan fiction, I find myself spending a lot of time thinking about what would happen if Bellatrix hadn’t finished the job, so to speak. What if she got interrupted (ideally by Draco), and Hermione only has half a slur on her arm?

The question then becomes how much of the word would be there? And would the significance of the scar be different for her, or others, depending on how complete, or incomplete, it is? Like, if she only had “Mu” or “Mudbloo” or “Mud” etc. (or what if Bellatrix spelt the word wrong?)

Because I feel like it would change a few things in how she, and others, approached/viewed the incident (especially if someone interrupted the process of her getting it in the first place).

Anyone else ever wonder about this?
