This beautiful fossil is that of an ancient Calymene Trilobite. It’s a beautifully preserved piece. Trilobites were very successful during their time on the planet, making these interesting fossils relatively common.

Trilobites, though now long exctinct, were marine arthropods (think spiders/crustaceans) that existed millions of years ago. The dates they occupied the earth range between 500 million years ago (the Cambrian period) up until 250 million years ago where they were wiped out along with most everything else during the mass extinction.

There are many different species and variations, and these interesting fossils are found in many different locations around the globe. This particular little soul was ethically sourced from Morocco. It’s currently available here.

I am eagerly awaiting the day I have my own home without roommates.

I want to give all my Patrons their own more appropriate altar in the home.

Currently they all share a 3x3 cubed shelving unit, and it works well- they all have a cube and it’s all decked out just for them, but I think they’d feel more appreciated and seen in places that correlate better with their actual duties/powers.

Athena In The Library

I’ve always wanted an in home library, and Athena being the goddess of Wisdom & Knowledge would flourish and enjoy being in a place dedicated to learning and consuming knowledge. I’d decorate the library altar with things for her, for learning. It would be aesthetically pleasing and yet very obviously just for Her.

Hera In the Bedroom

I am unsure how my partner will feel about having an altar in the bedroom. I don’t want a TV in my room, but it wouldn’t be fair to make Hera the focal point of the room since my partner is not Hellenic. I was thinking a Grecian style pedestal, and sort of like gold framing diorama style to keep everything where it’s supposed to be. With peacock feathers and flowers in a vase, and something sparkly. Very elegant Queen aesthetic. The bedroom is perfect because she is the goddess of marriage and in the bedroom she can watch over and bless the marriage bed.

Aphrodite in the Bathroom.

The bathroom is where I get ready, my alone time, my reset time. I feel like that’s where I cultivate and manifest my courage and self love. Bath bombs and candles are also an easy go-to self care routine. Setting aside a place in the bathroom for seashells, a statue, fancy fabrics and roses would be wonderful during my bad days & be a light during my good days. I think she’d be happy there where I do my best work for love and care.

Melinoë in the Living Room

Being the bringer of nightmares and ghosts I had a hard time putting her in a “good” place. But I forgot that I’d always wanted a memorial wall for my passed relatives. Her altar would be best there, she is the goddess of funeral rites and is the main assistant in easing my fear of death. I could put my rabbit skull, maybe if I get the cats ashes/bones when they pass, and it would be a fairly public altar so it could also be or be near the “while you’re away altar” - the Greeks offered empty altar spaces for travelers so they didn’t feel ostracized & could set up a place to worship their gods while away from home.

Hestia in The Kitchen

The goddess of hearth and home would love the kitchen. The hearth is where family meals were made and a gathering place for all. The kitchen has always been that place for me and my family. And it would give me a constant reminder that she and the other Olympian’s require the first food sacrifice through the flames of Hestia. I could do that in my own home, I would kill for a fireplace.

Artemis at The Back Door/Window

In reality I don’t Know if it’ll be the Back Door or Window, but I want to put her altar somewhere close to outside, so it can actually see the moon and receive its blessings. A place to collect moon water or snow or whatever. For protection, for courage.

And any other deities that I begin following I cannot wait to find them proper places in my home so I can worship them in every aspect of my life, instead of hiding it in my room
