Evening Witch Tip from a Sleepy Witch

Even if you’re not Wiccan, I recommend checking out the Wiccan Rede. It’s a great spell writing aid, as it has a lot of information that most pagans adhere too.

Do not forget that the Gods are not kind, nor are they cruel, they simply are.

I’m stuck in my craft. I don’t know where to go from here, I feel like I’ve explored what I know to death essentially, and I don’t know how to branch out from here. I don’t know if I should just start over with something new? Or try to find a new angle from what I already know? Argh, I hate this.

Spells shouldn’t be stolen either

Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of spells that are posted that aren’t original, and aren’t credited. Just like artwork shouldn’t be stolen, spells are the product of time and energy put into something and we shouldn’t steal them and repost them under the guise of passing them off as original. Even if you found the spell on a site like SoM, you can always link the original page.

astralwitchling:

full moon: on the night of a full moon, leave your crystals outside to soak up the moonlight, the crystals will still receive the energy even if it’s cloudy or raining! (but make sure the crystals can safely be in contact with water!!)

sunlight: leave your crystals out to bathe in the sun for a few hours (Amegreen, Amethyst, Ametrine,  Aquamarine,  Celestite, Citrine, Fluorite,  Kunzite, Opal,Rose Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Spirit Quartz, Super Seven, Topaz, and Turquoise should not be left out in the sun!!)

sage/incense:waft the smoke over the crystals, or hold the crystals in the smoke, let the smoke reach every side of the crystal

water: let your crystals soak in a nice cool water bath, or place them under running water, visualise the water cleaning out any negative energy (Calcite, Desert Rose, Halite, Hematite, Lodestone, Malachite, Satin Spar, and Selenite should not be placed in water!!)

earth: bury your crystals in the soil for a few hours and the earth will soak up negative energies (again, be cautious about rain!)

sound:place your crystals in front of speakers and play your favourite music!! the vibrations from sound waves will pass through the crystals and reset their vibrations to their original state

flower petals: bury your crystals in a bowl of flower petals, choose a flower that has extra healing properties to help your crystals

visualisation: hold your crystal in your hand and envision a white light surrounding it, then see a white beam pass through the crystal, taking the negative energy away

Healing chakras with crystals

1. Cleanse your crystals, and the area you wish to work in. Do this in whichever way suits you(bells, singing bowls and sage are favourites of mine). Do NOT skip this step.
2. Light a white candle, and burn your favourite incense or oils. Relaxing music can add to the experience, although steer clear of anything with lyrics as this can distract the mind(rainwater, birdsong, Tibetan singing bowls, all work well).
3. Arrange the quartz crystals in a diamond, as seen in the second image.
4. Being aware of the sounds and smells around you, lie down comfortably on your back inside the quartz diamond as shown, placing the hematite on your feet as you do so.
5. Place your seven crystals on the corresponding chakras, mindfully. Think of the healthy attributes of each chakra each time you feel the stone make contact with your body. Begin with the root chakra and, continue up, to the sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, and the crown.
6. Then place a quartz crystal just above your crown chakra, and keep the remaining two in your upward facing palms.
7. Visualise each chakra being cleansed and healed, beginning from the root, and finishing at the crown.
8. Now…. Relax and let the crystals work their magic!
9. When you’re ready, remove the quartz crystals from your palms, followed by the one on your forehead. Then remove the crown, third eye, throat, heart, solar plexus, sacral, and root stones. Lastly, sit up, and take the hematite from your feet.

Enjoy!

Sleeping is hard. Especially if you have anxiety about something going on, or just plain stressed out. Our modern lives are not built to include a lot of rest and relaxation, and this can really play on how we fall asleep. If you’re like me, you make an attempt to go to bed at a decent hour, but after trying some downtime, like reading, you’re left tossing and turning for hours just to go to bed at the super late time you were trying to avoid in the first place. Next night, rinse and repeat. If you’re struggling with a decent night’s rest, try these five stones to help you get those much-needed Zzz’s.

Moonstone

Of course, the stone of the moon would help you get some sleep. This iridescent stone is absolutely one of my favorites. It almost glows from the inside. Moonstone promotes our biological clock to engage with the moons’ energy thus promoting a restful night’s sleep, and falling asleep when one intends to.

Howlite

Covered in black streaks, Howlite is the stone of relaxing energy. Although not necessarily linked to the moon, Howlite’s relaxing energy can help calm down any nervousness and get you the nights rest you deserve.

Amethyst

Another favorite of mine. Besides offering all around protection to the wearer, it also soothes energy. Perfect for a nightstand, choose a chunky Amethyst for both it’s beauty and peaceful energy.

Lepidolite

Like Amethyst, Lepidolite is another soothing purple stone. This stone is almost exclusively used for it’s relaxing energy. Set it up next to your Amethyst, and you’re ready for

Rose Quartz

The stone of self-love is said to indirectly sooth your energy, promoting restful vibes. This pink stone filters out the negativity, self-destructive talk and promotes positive energy. Mix and match your perfect bedtime crystals and find the combination that works best for you. Another idea is to acquire all smaller sized crystals and place them in a drawstring bag and either place it under your pillow at night, or on your nightstand next to you.

Sweet dreams!

*Warning if you suffer from depression, insomnia or anxiety, please seek out the advice of a medical doctor. Crystals can help the vibe, but they can not cure any serious ailments.
