The first recorded use of the word “queer” to mean “homosexual” was in a letter by John Sholto Douglass, the ninth Marquess of Queensbury. He wrote in a letter to his son that “snob queers like Rosebery” had caused the death of his son Francis (Rosebury being the Lord that Francis had an affair with).
Douglass’ other son, Alfred, was an affair with Oscar Wilde, and grew so angry that he started the trials that led to Wilde’s imprisonment and two years’ hard labor for criminal indecency.
The word “homosexual” (and heterosexual) was first coined in a pamphlet by Karl-Maria Kentbeny, a Hungarian civil rights campaigner who decided follow his “instinctive drive to take issue with every injustice” after his close friend, a gay man, died by suicide after he was blackmailed by an extortionist.

Gender and sex are not the same thing. Gender is a social construct designed in assumption of peoples’ reproductive roles. Sexuality is dependent on sex and factors like primary and secondary sex characteristics, which are determined by biology and different cultures may have different norms about what is attractive.
My dick does not rise to social constructs. How can queerios claim nonbinary identities have existed for thousands of years despite the word being invented in a human context in 2014, but say homosexuality never existed as a concept before some German activist invented the term in the 1800s? Pronoun pins are not buttons that activate and deactivate sexual attraction even if they indicate a level of cringe that can turn me off. This post is so homophobic I swear to God. If you have a problem with the “born this way” narrative you are homophobic.

Cute how people who say this shit dont say transphobia doesnt exist just because shitty parents might kick out a trans kid because they think it’s because they’re gay. It’s all terrible and parents being bigoted and neglectful and abusive. To parents like that it doesn’t matter if you’re gay or trans or ace, it’s all the same to them and they don’t want you in their family.
Using this as a “gotcha” to belittle the experiences of those who’ve gotten kicked out after coming out with the bonus of not even being believed for what they came out as is disgusting.
If you’re someone who’s so wrapped up in your exclusionary ideology that you’re denying the experiences of fucking children kicked out of their homes and abused after coming out, for the love of whatever you believe/don’t believe in, fucking re-evaluate.

In this recent UK study cis asexuals were the most likely to have conversion therapy equal to cis gay/lesbian people. And the most likely to have it offered.
Stop basically yelling Fake News!1 and re-evaluate why you refuse to listen to victims of abuse.

1) Stop equating sexuality to behavior. Don’t do it with gay people, don’t do it for ace people.
2) Faith based groups, especially those who are not pro-LGBTQ don’t magically see aces as acceptable. They view them as not-straight therefore wrong.
3) If you are abstinent it’s supposed to be a sacrificeyousuffer through to show your strong faith. Sex is meant to be your reward for being married. Being abstinent in a faith based groups works until you are meant to get married, be fruitful, or summit to your husband. The moment you decide you don’t want any of that for yourself now or in the future it’s a seen as a problem.
4) You’ll note that lots of number 3 is sexism, sex negativity, and the forced continuation of nuclear families something that directly and indirectly adds to homophobia and transphobia. And instead of saying “hey this ace, this victim of abuse, gives us an opportunity to discuss all of those wrongs in society, plenty of people just reblog “but why would you kick a virgin out??”

In nursing homes, hospices etc people with dementia and other similar issues may forget that they are old and out of the closet with a wife and kids and panic and think that they need to hide their sexuality all over again. It is very traumatic for them and their family, often is the people who had violent and homophobic parents who suffer the most severely.

i get that callout posts are often useless and sometimes downright fictionalized. i don’t expect this to even rly impact kash given she’s been like this for at least a decade, has been called out before, and hasn’t improved one bit. regardless, nothing written in the doc misaligns with my experience with her, and one way or the other i think there’s utility to spreading the word on why she’s ~*~toxic~*~
the lion king is a kid’s franchise, so most of the fans are kids. they’re gonna recolor screencaps and make “cringey” OCs and draw characters poorly bc thats what artsy-fartsy children do. and kash has, continues to, and will likely keep finding, harassing, and mocking those children on purpose bc she, as a 30-smth y/o woman, doesn’t like what they’re doing
that in and of itself, i think, is a good reason to learn who kash is and why to avoid her, but as detailed in the doc she’s also frequently been racist (specifically anti-black) and homophobic (speaking from experience!), and she doesn’t show any signs of shedding her ignorance anytime soon. this carries with it the inevitability that she ends up saying racially or sexually charged bullshit to tlk fans of color and/or lgbt fans who are, ya know, very likely literal actual no-hyperbole children just minding their own business
