We’ll Never Let You Go
Words: 1556
Dirk follows the universe’s path to Friedkin at the end of S1. A brief character study.
I got inspired by my post about the Blackwing captures at the end of S1, and just wanted to do a little Dirk study/scene expansion, so here’s just a short little whatever this is.
Dirk watches Todd walk away. His chest feels light, lighter than he’s felt in years, even with the aching of his shoulder and the slight haze of the pain medication the hospital had sent him away with. The case is solved, Farah and Todd are on board with the agency, and things are finally, for once, coming together.
He turns to Farah with a smile, as she looks back at him, amused by Todd’s response, and shakes her head.
Dirk wishes later that he could just stop time here, that he could reach into the past and scream at himself to ignore the feeling he gets next, to stay in the booth, to grab Farah and Todd and run, but life doesn’t work that way, and wishes were made for naïve children.
