Sketch 1-3: Hello I have been sucked into the Huntlow nation (Huntlow? Winter? Golden Willow? Idk) lmao. I got interested with this ship after seeing some fan art of them and now I’m fully invested after reading a really good fanfic titled “Of Balanced Stones” on AO3by@eldritch-raven. Those sketches are also a reference to a scene in this Iron Man 2 trailer.

I finally found time to finish this. This was originally planned to be finished last month, but on December 16, we got hit by Typhoon Rai and lost power for around 2 weeks, that’s why I wasn’t able to make some holiday-themed art.

The fact that “Reaching Out” confirmed that Hunter and Willow regulary text each other makes me so happy! They’re clearly developing their relationship off screen, and I’m curious which direction their dynamic will go when we see them together again. Will it turn into something more then platonic?
Okay, but the fact that we might have another huntlow interaction in Hollow Mind.
Hear me out!
If you look at Hunter’s feet, there’s a spellcircle. He is purposely doing the spell to go inside Belos’ mind. His staff is activated. It’s definitely from “Hollow Mind”. Obviously, it’s the same spellcircle when Luz and Amity went into Willow’s mind in “Understanding Willow”.
But it makes me wonder, did someone told him about it? How did Hunter know about the spell? Sure, he could’ve read it in a book or something. But what if that isn’t the case? What if someone told him about it?
Luz and Amity surely wouldn’t have told him, even though they are aware of the spell’s excistence. But as for right now, their relationship with Hunter is not so great at the moment. Gus however, also knows about the spell. He and Hunter are friends. They follow each other on Penstagram, so Gus could’ve easily told Hunter about the spell. But I feel like Gus has not enough knowledge about it. He never went in someone’s mind, and nobody went into his. He has no experience.
There is one person left who could’ve most likely have told Hunter about the spell, and that’s Willow. in “Understanding Willow”, Amity and Luz went into Willow’s mind. Willow has enough knowledge and experience, as much as Amity and Luz does.
There was immediately chemistry between Willow and Hunter since they first met. They understand and relate to each other. Hunter and Willow also follow each other on Penstagram, so Willow easily could’ve told Hunter about the spell through text or video calling.
So yeah, there’s a chance that they’re gonna interact again in “Hollow Mind”. I wouldn’t be surprised if the episode starts with Hunter and Willow video calling each other, and that’s when Willow tells him about the spell.
I wonder what Hunter’s and Willow’s relationship is going to be in like “Hollow Mind”. They must’ve texted and video called a lot during that time. Could it be that they’ve developed a crush on each other off screen by now? Or would their relationship just be platonic and it stays that way?
How funny would it be if Willow text Hunter when he and Luz are in Belos’ mind, and Luz immediately knows what’s up and starts to tease Hunter like siblings do. I would love to see it.
Silly prediction for Hollow Mind, because I want more Huntlow. Also because we need more Willow, Willow is the best.
During break, Hunter is video calling Willow. They have developed a crush on each other by now, and they’re blushing during their whole conversation. Sorry, it is how it is. I don’t make the rules. Hunter opens up to Willow about Belos, and how the segil of the Golden Guard prompts him to know more about their family history, and why he can’t do magic. But his uncle won’t tell him anything. Willow inspires Hunter to go into his uncle’s mind, and tells him the story of how Luz and Amity went into her mind, and that he might get answers there. Hunter thinks it’s a great idea.
During the ep, Willow suddenly starts to text Hunter, prompting Hunter to smile and blush. Of course, he got to text her back. Luz is suspicious, and quickly knows what’s up and starts teasing him. To Hunter’s great dismay. But Hunter quickly got saved by the plot, yay plot.
Bonus points if Hunter video calls Willow back at the end of Hollow Mind while having a break down. He opens up to Willow, and tells her what happened. Willow listens, and guides him through his break down.
