• • •   okay, so maybe yeji thinks this is stupid, but she doesn’t exactly stop her friends from convincing her to record this video. ‘as if anyone will ever see it,’ she thinks huffing as she takes a seat in front of the camera. a smile still blooms on her face the moment her friend motions to indicate he was rolling - “hello, hello - hwang yeji here.” she hums out, waving cutely at the camera. “i’m twenty years old, and i’m currently a sophomore at university. i’m attending for aesthetics so like … dance.” she chuckles, painted lips curled into a soft smile. “so, i’m a dancer, above all else. i also do a little bit of modeling here and there, to pay the bills, ya’know?” she says, winking at the camera. “and i’m just excited to be here.”

• • •   “i really just want to make a difference in people’s lives.” yeji says honestly, with a shrug. “i guess people would wonder why like … i’m not a nursing major or like, something actually helpful.” she chuckles, shaking her head. “but honestly, this is more fun. and it’s more me.” she doesn’t mention that she feels like the family disappointment, like maybe she should be taking her future more seriously like her siblings. the worries creep into her head as she smiles at the camera regardless. “but for me, dance does the same thing.” she points out, winking. it’s the only thing that keeps her going some days - the only thing that forces her to not become just some burnout student in a major they hate. “and i know i’m not the only one out there who has dreams as big as their eyes - i’m here to prove those dreams can be met.” even with self-doubt creeping up in her skin.
