One of the nicest stories I’ve read about him concerns the birth of his second child, upon which he reportedly lit candles, put on Mozart and climbed into bed with Sinéad, Sam and the newly swaddled Max drinking Champagne toasts. This is such a nice story I don’t believe it, so I ask if it’s true. “I don’t think it was Mozart,” he says, adding that he distinctly remembers putting thedog on the bed.
