First we have 2020-2021 when back outside mohawks were still considered a difficult step, so most teams did them. Not KagaGOATs who did LFO-Cross Roll into RFO-Swing Mohawk (RFO to LBO, CCW)inFOXTROT HOLD. Even now with forward outside mohawks required, most teams choose to do it in kilian hold.
Most teams after their 1st difficult step/turn already break hold & switch to hand in hand or have no contact at all with side by side skating in their style B step sequences this quad. KagaPERFECT maintain close hold with effortless changes between waltz, foxtrot, & kilian hold.
Valeri does 4/5 of his difficult steps/turns in this section. First he does LFO-Mohawk (LFO to RBO, CW) switching from foxtrot to waltz hold.
Vasilisa does LFO-Rocker (LFO to LBO, CCW)inwaltz hold.
Valeri does RFI-Counter (RFI to RBI, CW) switching from waltz to kilian hold.
Kagapol both do LBO-Choctaw (LBO to RFI, CW) in kilian hold.
Valeri does RFO-Rocker (RFO to RBO, CW)inkilian hold.
Later in the step sequence Vasilisa also does her RBI-Counter (RBI to RFI, CCW) when switching from kilian to waltz hold.
So in conclusion, a JUNIOR team has done the best job this year of doing extended section without breaking hold & actually performing their difficult steps/turns while in hold.
Literally no ice dancers are hitting difficult & intricate positions like Kagapol anymore
I have been in love with Maia’s dress all year, so it’s about time I make a record of it. That skirt! Perfection. Also I couldn’t get a good look at them here but Maia’s earrings are also the best.
Glittering perfection!
Seriously, maybe the best movement of a skirt the entire season. And although it would’ve been fun to see Alex in hot pink too, I think I’m glad he went complimentary rather than matchy-matchy.
Grade: A++
Christina changed her dress from the start of the Junior Grand Prix to this magnificence in hot pink, and it was very much a worthy upgrade!
Am I slightly uncomfortable with just how deep of a v-neck Anthony’s got going on considering his actual age? Yes. However, I cannot deny it is appropriately Latin.
All in all, a fine showing!
Grade: A
At the beginning of the season, if I recall correctly, Kaitlin had on a searing orange dress that while very Latin, was also not very easy on the eyes. Thankfully she changed pretty quickly into this fabulous little number!
(This one’s from US Nationals)
Check out that skirt! Though the bodice is also nothing to sneeze at.
Jean-Luc, as you can see, took plunging necklines very seriously (actually I think his plunges further than hers) along with some snazzy stripes, and I appreciate it.
