#i’m over it

LIVE

Physically, I am still at work. Mentally, I am at home watching Obi Wan Kenobi and getting ready to post my new Andy Barber fic.

If Andy were real he would let me stay at home and watch Obi Wan Kenobi

I’ve had a emotionaly draining week so here I am with ~thoughts~ again about the stupid little murder show

What gets me is that the show is establishing how Archie is not seeing Betty for who she is.

Like this isn’t just in “antis” heads. The show is showing us that Betty didn’t just do what she had to do for survival. She’s not only doing her job when she is hunting serial killers. It’s a part of her on deeper level. It’s a passion.

Healthy or not.

It’s also the only thing she herself sees for her future.

Not marriage or motherhood. Which is a direct contrast to what Archie wants for his future. And people act like that isn’t a direct conflict?

Like the show is saying they want different things.

They actually silenced Betty’s pov on everything just to drag the storyline out longer.

Everytime Archie brings up his idea for the future Betty is just like OK. But it’s clearly not just ok. And it’s clearly not a dream for the future she shares.

Yet I still see people writing about the show - not just fans but people who cover the show - who refuse to acknowledge that reality.

Why is Betty drawn to Agent Drake? Because Drake actually sees Betty. She’s engaging with who Betty really is. And Archie hasn’t done that all season. Not once.

They’ve had some heart to hearts, some emotional beats but none of it was about them connecting with each other in the relationship. It’s never been shown as being a mutual understanding. And that’s clearly on purpose.

So when people are complaining about the possibility of cheating or how this storyline to show Betty is bi isn’t worth throwing out that ship’s development, I’m like ???

It’s not, it’s literally following the story they have been writing all season. A story they started in 601. An episode where RAS suggested in an interview Betty might have sacrificed Archie just to get him to shut up bc he was pressuring her.

But I can already tell people who refuse to actually look at what the show is saying are going to be so upset and call the plot cheap. When it’s just the Betty finally embracing what she’s already been feeling.

I’ve successfully gotten four out of six teachers on my floor to dislike me, but the only gossip they have is that I stuck up for a student who was being treated like a problem for struggling with mental health. I’m still a new-ish teacher and I’m not perfect and definitely don’t know everything, but the circumstances with this student are things that I went through at her age and I know how it affects your mental health and how important it is to get help before it builds up.

I’m just tired of people trying to start drama with me. They think since I’m young, I don’t know what I’m doing. No, I’m not a mother and I never raised teenagers, but I was a teenager not too terribly long ago and remember what it was like. I agree that sometimes I can be a little too laid back, but at least the kids respect me and feel safe coming to me for support and advice because they know I’m not going to judge them for making mistakes I made when I was the same age.

Also, the fact that these people trying to start shit are almost twice my age says more about them than it does about me…
