Beyond his art, Neal Adams is rightfully remembered as an eternal champion of creators’ rights and for the part he & his work played in the Comics Code revision of ‘71 but his contribution to John Stewart’s creation is – I think –  a rather underrated aspect of his career, especially as it’s such a great reminder of the kind of person he was. i feel like not enough people know/appreciate the fact that hal and john got into a bar fight in coast city before either of them were lanterns. it is now canonically the first time they ever met. hal got his ass handed to him. dc please acknowledge this again
