“Phone Home” for The Weekly Standard.

Always a pleasure to work with Philip Chalk of the Weekly Standard, who’s become one of my most steady regular clients over the years. I got a kick out of playing with all the different coloured circles in this.

Wrapped up 2016 with some work for T Brand Studio and Guinness! This was some of my first advertising work, and it was an exciting change of pace from editorial illustration. The piece above is part of a series done for a timeline highlighting key moments in Guinness’ history, which can be viewed here: http://paidpost.nytimes.com/guinness/great-times-in-beer-history.html

“Are You Covered” for MoneySense

Thrilled to be in MoneySense! I love financial conceptual illustration, and I’ve wanted to be in that magazine since college. Sadly, it’s moving to digital only next year.

Thanks to ADs John Montgomery and fellow Sheridan 2012 alum Erin McPhee!

Christmas Spirit: Lost & Found for War Cry Magazine

Here’s a Christmassy piece that I did back in August, though just published now. A touching essay (I got a little choked up reading it!) about a couple of new parents and their daughter who was born with spina bifida just before Christmas.

Thanks to AD Roger Selvage for the assignment, and such a lovely presentation in the spread.

Here’s another Facts & Arguments illustration for The Globe. A falling snowflake triggers a childhood memory for the author, transporting him to housing complex in Beijing, where a tenant had hidden one-, five-, and 10-yuan notes in their walls. It’s an interesting story, and quite a powerful memory. You can read it here.
