#joy is stored in the spaniel

LIVE

There’s something so fulfilling about watching a spaniel moving through brush, following a scent trail. And occasionally checking in with the thumb-monkeys, before continuing to catalogue all the available sniffs.

@thelittlespanielthatcould ’s Kovu got to thoroughly explore and sniff; his delight was infectious.

AKovu came to visit us! Both Spaniels absolutely adored having him with us. The resident thumb-monkeys had a great time playing with the kissy cuddly wriggler, and visiting with Kovu’s human.

I love looking out the window at Kovu as he wanders the yard because he’ll just be like, sniffing a rock with nobody around and wagging his tail with his entire body. Every day is the best day of his life and I love him so much.

Kovu was on a mission today at barn hunt. He usually LOVES getting to paw at the rat tube but today he didn’t want to waste time with the first one - he just gave it a cursory sniff and paw before getting back to work.

It’s very cool to see how his skills are developing. He’s definitely gotten more collected and focused but has lost none of his enthusiasm. Here’s a glimpse of his happy little wagging in between runs (’:

Since we’ve started barn hunt, I’ve been hiding his dental chew for him every morning to give him a “hunt” at home. It’s getting harder and harder to fool him in the house, so I tried hiding it in the field at the power lines. It was really cool to watch him follow the same steps I walked with his nose to the ground.

the name of my blog makes me so happy. it perfectly captures having a ridiculous little dog with a can-do attitude

everything he does he’s automatically the best at because he’s so enthuastic and sincere and adorable about it that everyone around him is like “I don’t need to know what game he’s playing to know that he won” which is exactly how it should be
