Since I made most of Jeanne in a short spann of time I didn’t really document well or had time to write about it. But here it is! How I made the entire outfit!

The under shirt is wrap style, Since I had no pattern like that I put an extra fit of papper on a dress shirt pattern to alter the neckline. I shorted the sleeves but kept them a little longer so the would bunch just enough, they have elastics at the end, that I folded inside, so they would stay.

I cropped it becuase I did not want to have too many layers around my waist.

I made a mock of the white blouse, think I based it on a tshirt pattern, just to get the arm holes right.

The base belt is made of pleather to give it a stiffer base. I sewed on the red around the edge and after that gold to mimic it wrapping around without accually doing it. It fastens in the back with hooks and eyes, the bow covers it, is loose and put on with snaps.

I am never doing boot covers again.

But I started good, painted the base shoes, wrapped and taped to get a pattern. Then I cried. They look acceptable, but are pretty sad. the loose part of the shoe is like a leg warmer, they stay up because I tuck them into my socks. the ribbon is elastics.

That’s it pals! :)

I am done with the hat for my Finn Fish cosplay. This is how I made it.

To make it easier for me, I used a cheap bowler hat I had laying at home as the base for hat. (Make sure to try the hat when you are wearing the wig you will use to be sure it fits.)

Since the hat brim is brown in the reference I used some brown faux leather to cover it. I measured around the brim of the hat and cut out two circles of the leather. I then glued the fabric on to the hat and stretched it in to place.

To get a nice clean edge I made a stipe out of the same faux leather and sewed along the edges. I then glued it over the edge.

To get the right shape I measured how tall I wanted it and then sawed the top of.

To cover the hole I cut out stripes from some cardboard and glued it on the the top of the hat. I also cut out a circle of cardboard and glued it on top of the stripes.

To cover everything in white I cut out a circle and a wide stripe of white fabric (micro satin) and sewed the stripe on to the circle. I then pulled the fabric over the top of the hat and glued the edges down.

Since I could not find any similar black and white ribbon in the store I decided to make it myself. For it I used stripes of black faux leather and thinner white faux leather.

I sewed one black and two white stripes together for each ribbon and then glued the edges of the white stripes down on the back of the black stripe using some fabric glue.

To cover the gap between the brown leather and the white fabric I made a simple stripe out of the brown faux leather and sewed along one side. I then glued it on to the hat and glued the black and white ribbon in place.

I made the triangles out of craft foam and black worbla. I primed it with gesso, sanded it and then spray painted everything with gold.

This hat was pretty easy to make since I used a bowler hat as base. I still have not had the time to try the finished hat on with the wig and elf ears though.

This is how I made the fabric bracer for my Finn Fish cosplay from Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne.

I started off making a pattern of my arm by covering it in plastic foil and tape. I then marked with a pen how I wanted the shape of the bracer look and then cut it off at the place I wanted the opening of the bracer to be.

Using the pattern I draw out the shape for the bracer on some brown twill fabric. I cut it out, zigzag the edge and sew on some rigaline to make bracer stiff.

I then cut out some green velvet and sewed it over the twill. Some golden braided ribbons where sewed by hand over the seams on the sides.

I glued the black and white ribbons onto the braces and added some buckles. For the lacing I used some golden eyelets and a brown lacing cord.

It is really hard to put on by myself and it twists a bit when I move my hand but I think that can be fixed by using some fashion tape.
