• • •Donghan has prepared for this thoroughly, bought clean white sheets and a large flashlight for his recording setup. It’s not the most professional, but it’ll do, as there is no money to rent a proper studio plus camera. A phone is attached to a selfie-stick, held up inside the hole of a plastic outdoor table standing in the middle of the teenager’s room, aimed at the white sheet taped to the wall, lit up by the flashlight on the table. Donghan takes his position in front of the sheet, attempts at fixing some lines in his unsteamed button-up before clearing his throat, eyeing the camera. “Hello, my name is Kim Donghan, born in Busan and currently nineteen years old. I’m a dedicated worker with a passion for the entertainment business and I dream of one day becoming an inspiration like my idols have inspired me. My interest lays with producing music and singing, and now I shall sing a piece of one of my favorite songs; The Other by Lauv–”

• • •“When I was little, there was no music played at my house,” Donghan starts, smiling briefly to himself as his gaze is shortly casted down at the ground. When he looks back at the camera, there is this sparkle within his eyes, something pure, a memory that fills him with motivation to this day. “One day, my grandparents took me to the city, and there was a busker at the park, had all this fancy electronica surrounding him and with a couple of button pushes, he created the most insane beats. I remember turning to my grandma and said ‘grannie, I want to do that too’. She laughed, patted my head and told me to work hard for my dreams. I think that was the day I decided to become a producer.” He halts, chuckles softly. “I was six years at the time.” After a content sigh, Donghan smiles at the camera again. “After I moved in with my grandparents, I’d be stuck watching performance shows like Music Bank and Mcountdown all day, absolutely fascinated by all the different groups and the music they’d created. So I started helping my grandparents out at their fish farm to gain some money in order to afford instruments and private tutoring. It has been a while since then, but with my gained expertise, I feel ready to enter the music industry now and make a name for myself.”
