• • •( ` she feels slightly uncomfortable with a camera watching her every movement, but that is something she’s learned how to endure during her time as a ballet student. in fact, as a ballet student there were multiple cameras watching her every move to catch all of the mistakes or missteps she might’ve taken. despite how awkward it is for her to do this, she hasn’t shown signs. ` ) hello, my name is kim hyunjin. ( ` she gives a cute smile, eyes gleaming as if she was genuinely excited. the young girl gives a deep bow, tossing her hair over her shoulder as she stood straight again. smile. ` ) i’m seventeen years old, and i’m a student at the school of performing arts seoul! i was a former ballet student in new york city, but i moved to seoul about three years ago. i look forward to showing everything i have to offer! ( ` she almost cringes; that sounded a little weird — mostly forced. she hesitates, noting that there isn’t more to add, but she thinks she said too little. however she still smiles, cute and poised like a doll. ` ) thank you for this opportunity and please take care of me well!

• • •i want to dance! ( ` it’s simple and she’s confident. truthfully, there isn’t more to it. since she was a young girl, she’s known all along that she wants to be a dancer. being able to convey emotions through the art of dance was something she wanted to do for anyone willing to watch. ` ) i like the idea of performing for other people, yes, but there is something about expressing yourself through your movements that i really like. i would like to dance for the rest of my life if i could. ( ` however, she is starting at the bottom again. after leaving new york city and relocating to seoul, she doesn’t know where to turn to for another opportunity to study at such a prestigious academy. spots are limited and her korean still needs a bit more work. ` ) one day i will be a professional dancer. it’s my goal to find the happiness i left back on a stage again.

• • •   hyunjin is more than used to being in front of the cameras, after all, she takes her time to film and edit youtube videos where her face is on full display… though an interview is a little bit different. you need to be serious and careful with what you say and mention, the girl has learned that sharing too much information isn’t something one should do. “hello, i’m hyunjin! i play the violin and make youtube videos on my free time”, she says, a bright smile on her lips as she tries to focus on the cameras and not seem nervous.

• • •   “ambitions?” hyunjin repeats, finger tapping on her chin as she thinks about what she might want to do in the future. well, there are endless possibilities and hyunjin is known for always changing what she wants to do… even though she likes to believe she’s way over that phase of her life. “maybe take part in a orchestra? i’ve seen my uncle play the piano and perform ever since i was young and.. i want to be like him”

• • •“something about me?” hyunjin laughs lightly, a hint of nervousness in her voice. it’s like she’s suddenly reliving every first day of school she’s had to go through (man, how many of those are under her belt now?), how she has to face the awkward silence that comes after the dreaded question. hyunjin has her hands resting in her lap, twisting and pulling at her own fingers because she’s not really sure what to do with them. “um, i’m hyunjin! i’m nineteen, and, well…” she begins, trailing off. it takes her a second to think of something. “i’m good at working hard?” she’s grinning to herself, still chuckling nervously, eyebrows turned upward. this doesn’t sound like a great start. “i may not be the best right now, but you can count on me to give it my all from here on out.”

• • •hyunjin finds it hard to answer the questions ‘what do you want to be? what do you want to do when you grow up?’ whenever she’s faced with them; especially now, sitting in front of a camera and lights in front of her. she chews on her lip, taking the time to breathe in, then let out the air in a long exhale. “to be honest? i don’t really know.” she decides to say first, offering the interviewer an easygoing, apologetic look. hyunjin’s shoulders sag as she continues. “i want to be an idol, but i can’t tell you what i really want to do with that. what do i want out of it? i don’t care that much for the fame and fortune. those are the perks, but there’s a lot of hard work that goes into this, right? so i think if anything, i want to be an inspiration and motivator for people who might be like me and not know what they want.”

I wanted to spend this November 15th, my birthday, with everyone but ㅠㅠ
Because of the recording for MIX NINE I can’t spend it with you guys, it’s so unfortunate and sad..ㅜㅜ
However this isn’t my last birthday!!!! So later on I want to have my birthday with the fans by any means >< I love you hehe
