“King Kong Escapes” (1967) seems to be the only “King Kong” movie where the woman on board the ship heading for Kong’s island is there because she’s a crew member. (Lt. Susan Watson played by Linda Miller.)

The pounding sound of Godzilla’s dorsal fins as they charge in King of the Monsters is taken from the sound of King Kong’s fading heartbeat from the end of the 1976 remake. This is revealed in the Blu-ray audio commentary for King of the Monsters.
As John LeMay discusses in his Kong Unmade book, the Heisei King Kong vs. Godzilla remake fell through because Toho could not come to an agreement with Turner Entertainment for the use of the character of King Kong. Toho evidently mistakenly believed Turner owned Kong, even though the company only held the rights to the 1933 film. As you can see, Turner is credited here for the character of Kong on the tag for this 1993 Bandai figure of the monster.
