We had a life drawing session today after work with a model wearing post apocalyptic costume and gear. I didn’t include any of my crappy 1 minute drawings, but here are the ones from the 3, 5, and 10min ones. (not in order)

It was such nice practice! :D

Didn’t draw over the weekend since I was at my sister’s. I do have a couple of comic pages in progress though (for different projects/fandoms). After this challenge month, I will probably create a sideblog for the Steven Universe stuff. Let’s see if I do something with it.

I’ve technically failed my own challenge multiple times over now. But it accomplished what I wanted; Which is to have the creativity and motivation to draw outside of work again (and to continue doing so even after this month). So in that regard, I think the challenge was a success. :)

(I do have to be in the office 3 times this week though, so expect a bit less drawings still; But I will work a little everyday on my comics even if I won’t post them. These WIPs hurt me to post lol)

You probably can’t tell at all what’s happening in this; but the clue is that it’s Fire Emblem heroes. :P

Trying to get more comic practice in, but I was brain dead after work and ran out of time cause I still had other things to do. :U

But roughly, this is how I start comics. I sometimes have a script written down or just planned in my head. Then I will start with quick thumbs like these to get the layout right and the positions of the characters.

Depending on the style or quality of the comic I wanna make, I already start on detailed drawings or lines straight after this. It means I make a lot of mistakes drawing the characters with no proper sketch in between; But it’s good practice at drawing faster and trying to eliminate making mistakes when you have to commit to each line already.

I miss doing comics. So I finally drew out this scenario I thought up back when I was working on my Resplendent Gatekeeper design. :P

My Summoner, Ecaille, is not very honest with their feelings despite the fact that they are quite chummy with most the heroes (even some villains).

Srsly. I’ve had this script on the back burner FOREVER. Kept second guessing it as I kept thinking if I ship it or not. I do now.

Man. I resisted this ship for so long because I thought it was too predictable of me to ship the “my unit” character with the lord or the prince/ss of an FE game—But the game insists on shipping them so how I can not??

Also, I finally got Ecaille to wear an Easter outfit! Been going back and forth on this design every year, so I just drew whatever this year. lol

Happy Easter, everyone! (its tomorrow but yknow…) Also this was a color palette challenge. :)

Also finally updated the look of my mascot to be more accurate to how I dress these days. Its still a cat tho.

Been a while since I’ve drawn a more dynamic group picture; So why not with these three’s sequel/modern looks? ✨

I would have been happy for just one of these to have had some new release this year–Instead all three did and 2022 is a good year to be a fan of these titles!

Was practicing odd face angles and anatomy a bit today. There’s a life drawing session coming up at work this month. :)
Tomorrow I’ll draw something more cartoon-y or anime again. :P

I played FFXIV all day, it’s 11:30pm, and my shoulder still smarts. Colors to come tomorrow.
(My rules for this challenge allow me to continue WIPs but I always have to finish the next stage. The 3 stages being: Sketch, Lineart, Colors.)

I slept on my shoulder wrong and still had to draw for work; So I’m skipping today. (I technically drew today; But for work. :P)

So for now have these random designs I drew for different characters in Fire Emblem Heroes.

I don’t know what possessed me, but I decided I wanted to do a Mucha-inspired piece of my D&D character. :U

Her name is Sascha and she’s a halfling.

Today is Milla’s turn to be finished from this old thing.

(Carol will likely come on Friday though because I have D&D tomorrow. Will likely only do a sketch of something else tomorrow. :P)

Finally decided to finish this summer themed Lilac I drew some time ago.

(Finishing an old drawing counts in my 1 drawing a day. I make the rules lol)

This is how you start an AU, right?

Probably a bit ambitious to want to make a fully colored comic page after a whole day at work; But somehow managed. :P

Very rough colors and backgrounds and its also my first time drawing Steven but eehhhhhhhh…?

Draws some of my favorite Pokemon characters in one go just because. :U

(Emerald version will always be the superior Brendan design)

Yellow has always been one of my favorite characters in Pokemon; Too bad they’re a manga only character. So I wanted to redesign them to look more like what a typical player character in the games would look life.

I opted for shorter sleeves and a few white accents, almost reminiscent of Red’s FR/LG design. I did want to keep the iconic straw hat no matter what though, but changed the color of the feathers. (I like to think they’re feathers from a shiny Dodrio; just because.)

I moved the green accents of their shirt/tunic to the belt; And also delegated that color to a few more places to make it look more coherent. I also moved the purple of their boots to the pants instead, as I was never a fan of the combo of purple boots + blue pants. Purple is also a nice complementary color to yellow, so it fits.

Lastly, I took out the boots entirely and made new shoes based on water shoes. Y’know. Cause they like to fish, and to overall give the outfit a more sporty look. (You can’t see it, but the cord lock in the back is supposed to look like a tiny pokeball.)
