Petra walked away in the small hallway of the spaceship, leaving Akira free to approach.
From where he was he could see Leandro’s legs behind the curtain that covered half of the bunk, only protected by an old blue blanket. He came closer, until his eyes met blue ones.
Leandro was supine on the hard mattress, his head resting on two big pillows that probably weren’t so soft and comfortable. His limbs and entire body lyed clearly tired, but looking perfectly fine. Even under his white t-shirt, where not so many hours earlier Akira had seen those biomechatronic parts explode and fall to pieces on the floor of the alley, his chest breathed so calmly now. “And still it seems so real.” Akira couldn’t stop himself from thinking.
«Hey.» Leandro had a firm but gentle expression on his face, probably trying to do his better to look calm.
«Hey.» Akira echoed, sitting on the bed’s edge.
They looked in eachother’s eyes for a few moments, then the Cuban smiled. «So… You didn’t tell me you were a Galtean.»
Akira chuckled; he knew Leandro enough to know this was his way to make his first step into the inevitable discussion. And even after all that happened, it was so reassuring to see that there was still something that he knew for sure.
«You didn’t tell me you were an android.» he answered with a smile.
«Yeah, for that one…» Leandro paused, making his gaze slide on the bunk walls, «I think I owe you a story.» he finished with a sigh.
Akira nodded, then he arranged himself right in front of the boy, with his legs crossed on the bed, taking advantage of the space Leandro was leaving spreading his legs and waiting for him to start.
Leandro took a long breath, and then spoke.
«It all begins with a song.»
So, uhm, yeah, I felt like writing too. (￣▽￣;)(English is not my mother tongue, but I tried)

My youngest grandson had begged me not to return to Paris. So, I had a very special gift made for him, to make the separation easier, for both of us.
But… we would never be together in Paris.
A dark shadow had descended down upon us. So many lives were destroyed that night. What had always been was now gone forever.
And my Lancelot…. my beloved grandchild…..
I never saw him again.

Before the world ended and the dead took it for themselves, Keith didn’t have much to look forward to anyway. The ranch was less than ideal. He had Shiro for a while, until he left. He got kicked out of school, isolated from pretty much everyone except for his alcoholic father. The only thing that Keith really had was Artax and the wide open Texan ranch, and even that eventually ran out of charm.
Honestly, it only did so much to help him get through it. For so long, he just struggled to make it through life. It was like he was waiting for something. He was always looking to the horizon, wondering what was next, what life would throw at him and if he’d make it through it or not.
