Did anyone else think “Ophelia!” when they saw Mirabel from Encanto, or is that just me?
ilt’s been a while i came here, I read the mirroir visitor from C.Dabos, it’s amazing , it’s a french fantasy story (you can read those in english
. It s a mix i think between miyazaki s movies , a pride and prejudice relationship steampunk , court skeaming, magic , and so much more.

Happy Halloween everyone ♡
Christelle Dabos’s “The Mirror Visitor” series is one of the best things in my life right now, so I made a quick picture of my favourite characters to celebrate Halloween
After reading almost exclusively fanfic for years, I forgot that Real Books™ have to be edgy and kill off characters or make them somehow disappear at the end
(it was a pretty good book but that was by far my favorite character and it is Not Allowed)(especially when it’s a super neurodivergent traumatized character that’s way underutilized in the first place)(okay he’s not fully dead but it was the end of the book series and there isn’t going to be more)

I finally read The Mirror Visitor (La passe-miroir) and devoured the four books in as many day while on vacation. So of course i had to draw Ophélie and Thorn especially That Scene in The Memory of Babel.
I really loved these neurodivergent and disabled characters, especially Thorn, and of course the wonderful world building, since that’s my entire jam.

You know that feeling that something could totally become a hyperfixation if only you had someone to talk about it with? But instead it’s sort of an unanchored obsession that you can feel slipping through your fingers?
Yes, that one.
If you want to spend a time reading something, get yourself a favor and dive into “The Mirror Visitor”! Ophélie is such an interesting, strong and well-developed character!

Finally, I can show you this character line up I’ve been working on for some time! These characters are a free interpretation from La Passe-Miroir, a novel that I did like a lot.
I really wish I could make an animated adaptation, but it seems it would be very complicated :) Maybe one day!

I’m reading the french novel “La Passe-Miroir” and I drew the heroin as I picture her during a small break today :)
I’m just in the middle of the first book, but I have the feeling that this story could make a very good long feature film in animation!! Maybe I’ll try to develop more of this if the rest of the story inspires me.
