Well… the highest large navigable lake in the world, anyway. At 3812m above sea level, Lake Titicaca is definitely the largest lake in South America by volume of water. Llamas gather on a hillside overlooking Peru’s Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest-altitude navigable body of water. Because of the llamas’ ability to move heavy packs over the rough Andean terrain, native people in this region have used them as pack animals for centuries. At one time thousands of llamas grazed the lake’s high basin.
