This comic popped into my brain after seeing Styx/REO Speedwagon/Loverboy’s Live and UnZoomed Tour promo vid back in December(?????) last year, been whittling away at it since lol. (Tacked on the bottom panel as a suitable ending - don’t know if that actually happened lol)
Had an idea pop into my head for an art series based (again) on Gowan’s Lost Brotherhood music video (the uncensored one)
Each mask type is featured(dr*gs, v*olence/g*ngs, and s*x work respectively) as well as Gowan himself (half donning the blue makeup he had in the video for a blink-and-miss-it moment)
I also corresponded with Gowan on the design for certain aspects, so its kind of a collab project lol.
I decided to paint that Gowan light/value study sooner, rather than later!(I was in the groove)
The background was a it of an experiment that payed off in the end(I think!) With neon colours and a misty ambience. With a bit of fashion-magazine-feel thrown in with the GDW lettering. (Made a sans-logo version for my RedBubble shop)
Done entirely in SketchBook in about 12 hours total.

Rb kept flagging it for copyright because I had Versace or Criminal Mind in the title(getting automatic pings from Versace and Criminal Minds respectively) so I had to title it “The Criminal Rides In Style” to get around this lol
Been poking at the idea of adding Gowan’s son into the SuperStyx League Universe as a sort of Nightwing/another Batman-esque sidekick.
Although, initially, I toyed with his son taking on the Robin role, but then I thought by me passing the torch - so to speak - would be too much of a change for a lot of people, since the idea of me being Artistic Robin had been around pretty much since the beginning of my SuperStyx League concepts(with me being nominated by Gowan himself to be “his Artistic Robin” after the conception of BatGowan) about 5 years ago now.
Gonna try to conceptualize something in the coming days, and if Gowan approves or comes up with something else entirely, I’ll share it with y'all.
Shortly after whipping up the ref sheet for my "Gowan as a Loki Variant” idea, this mock cover popped into my head!
I felt that he needed a badass piece to kinda show off one of his main powers: pyrokenesis (inspired by the “flash paper incident” from back in the 90s)
I also felt that Toronto City Hall would fit perfectly as a vortex-like backdrop.
Done in SketchBook in about 18 hours total over the past month.
