Most importantly- no one else is teaching this stuff and ideas are the most important part of what you’ll do as a creative.
How?
I’ll share specific approaches that teach you to utilize client projects as opportunities for personal growth.Great ideas aren’t pulled from the ether. They are pursued, shaped and refined. The world of commercial art requires the professional visual artist, illustrator, animator and designer to work within the confines of time, space, audience and content. The IDEATION Lab introduces a specific methodology for generating authentic ideas within the limitations of commercial projects. Discovered and put to use through my career as an illustrator, artist, writer, and as founder of Legendeer, this program outlines an explanation of the problems that we face, and delivers a specific process by which to solve them. I have shared and refined the principles of this course over years of teaching professionals and students across disciplines as varied as illustration, animation, design, painting, gaming, comics, science fiction, fantasy, fashion, business, dance, advertising, editorial, and illustrated books.

LEGENDEER ZION 2017ZION NATIONAL PARK, UTAH
MAY 28- JUNE 4, 2017
JoinLegendeer this summer, as we host a week-long intensive creative incubator, focusing on direct mentorship and skill development. Our basecamp located on the Eastern Ridge overlooking Zion National Park will be equipped for daily lectures, workshops and studio time. Throughout the week, take part in expeditions into the surrounding wild spaces of Zion’s canyons, forests and mountains.

This summer, I’m taking a bunch of creative nuts out to the Canadian Rockies for 5 days and 4 nights of camping, drawing, writing and giving shape to our creative voice and content.
We’ll be priming for the Expedtion with a two-month online program filled with creative challenges and exercises. Think of it as “creatively training” for our adventure. Following the Expedition, we’re running a 2 day, industry skill based workshop in Calgary. Attending the Expedition gets you a free pass into the Workshop, where you’ll be working hands-on to give form to the stories captured in the field. We’re hoping to spend some time after all of this to continue working with folks online to make your Legend real.
