“She’s the one! She has come to break the spell”
Here’s my version of Belle from the iconic 1991 movie “Beauty and the Beast”. I wanted to include as many roses as possible in this picture, since roses are a big iconic element of this fairytale and also I think the roses helped to create a more romantic atmosphere. Her dress was also super fun to paint!

An illustration for the lovely folks at Fireside Fiction, an independent short-fiction magazine. The illustration accompanies a story titled “synthia.pi” by Hal Y. Zhang. A woman creates a simulation of her ex-lover in the Python programming language, and while doing so reflects on their relationship.
This story and other publications can be found at firesidefiction.com. “Synthia.pi” is part of the Summer 2020 Issue, featuring over 100 pages of stories and artwork in both print and ebook.
