Arthur and Lenny ride again…
deserved better.
In Memory of Lenny Summers.
“Leonard, Leonard, Leonard…” - Arthur said reproachfully. I’m sure you are remember that moment.
There’s a silverlineover the horizon
And it fades the dreams we’ve lostlong time ago
You are near, there’sno fear
Lostbutnotalone, going home
We are rolling home, we’re rollinghome
No morehearts to break,no more to roam
There’s no one waiting, there’s no one to say goodbye
Soguided by a wanderin’ star, we’re rollinghome

I’ve been working on a bit of a Arthur Morgan/reader drabble. Dunno if it’ll ever see the light of day cause I just wanted to get my writing flow going to finish my other series. We’ll see!
I dunno who to tag because I don’t spend much time on here anymore, so if you see this consider yourself tagged!

… Arthur pulls Lenny aside, out of your hearing.
“Listen, Lenny. I’m only telling you this because out of anyone in this gang, I trust you the most.”
Lenny’s eyes light up, “Well, thank you Arthur.”
Arthur’s hand remains on Lenny’s shoulder. He looks into Lenny’s eyes and reads his authentic honesty and trust.
“Is…everything alright?” Lenny asks.
Arthur sighs, “There is no job. I’m sorry to drag you into this, but I couldn’t say ‘no’ to Dutch lest I bring up any suspicion.”
“Suspicion?” Lenny quirks a puzzled brow.
Another sigh and Arthur gazes at his feet before turning his head towards you. You stand blissfully unaware of their conversation as you pet your horse’s neck and utter adoring words to her. You talk to her as if she’s a person, carrying on a one-sided conversation. The warm summer breeze blows her mane and your hair towards the eastern sun.
Arthur turns back to see Lenny’s eyes darting back and forth between you and Arthur.
Arthur sees the gears working in his head.
He always knew Lenny to be the smartest one in the gang.
“In all honesty, I just wanted an excuse to spend some time with her.” Arthur whispers.
Matchmaker, matchmaker. Make me a match!
I match you with…
Lenny Summers
- Hmm, so you say a fox and an owl? So I’d say wise and cunnning; a quality many would envy.
- Lenny. Loves. To. Read.
- A young guy like Lenny, he’s actually one of the smartest guys of the gang.
- He finds out you love to read and gives you a new book to read almost weekly, and checks up on how far you’ve gotten in it.
- It’s actually how he woos you, with a new book to read that you both discuss afterwards.
- You can see how excited he gets when he sees you finishing the book and he cannot wait to get your input on it.
- Lenny likes your sarcastic humor, it lightens up the tense moments that happen at camp.
I found this in my drafts and god knows how long this has been in there. @fandomfaerie I’m so sorry I never fully fulfilled this request!
How’s everyone day? ☀️ ☁️
