Red Dead 2 question about the Blackwater Money and bounties I wanna get some opinions on.
If the van der Linde gang had paid off their bounties… Would they have been free to… Live free?
We know Arthur’s alone was $5000 cause Milton says it when we go fishing with Jack in chapter 2. So Dutch’s is much more than that, but I forget if we know the actual number at any point. We also know Hosea has a bounty but again don’t know the number.
I’m sure certain members of the group don’t have bounties or if they do it can’t be much. So we’d be looking at out of 24 people … 1 of which is a literal child, 3 of which 100% don’t have bounties in Blackwater (Sadie, Kieran, and Trelawny. Remember Trelawny was able to go into Blackwater no problem.)
So out of 20 people in the gang
Dutch, Hosea, Arthur, confirmed bounties, and most likely John too.
Micah would also 1000% have a bounty.
Javier has one in Mexico and probably here too
Lenny has one.
Charles… Maybe? Just for running with the gang
Bill probably.
Tilly… maybe?? since she was with the Foreman Brothers for a bit. Maybe not.
Mary-Beth, Karen, Abigail nah… Maybe Karen
Molly? Definitely not.
Grimshaw… Honestly? Probably. Considering how long she’s been with the group.
Pearson? He’s a cook. No.
Strauss? Ha! No.
Swanson? Nuh-uh.
Sean, yes, bounty confirmed cause he’s captured by bounty hunters.
So 11 out of 20 people with bounties. (The others are just guilty by association but I don’t think they have actual bounties.)
If we had gotten Arthur’s bounty paid off ($5000 which we definitely get well before the big bank heist at the end of chapter 4. The Valentine bank heist alone gives around $10,000 if I remember correctly) would he have then been able to go get the Blackwater money and pay the other bounties off?
Like what stops the gang from using stolen money to pay bounties off? Would they still get arrested or would it be like in game where no bounty means no reason for arrest?
We know from the newspaper that they had stolen $150,000 from the ferry job. That is probably much more than they need to pay everyone off.
What is stopping them from paying off ONE person’s bounty (or a few of the smaller ones) and having them go get the rest of the money and paying off the rest with it???
Like is it different because it’s Pinkertons and not local law?
Is it they don’t wanna pay off the bounties cause they want the full amount?
Please, I wanna know what other people think about this.
So my phone suggests news articles to me based on my searches meaning that I get shown almost everything red dead related and I gotta say, I’m getting annoyed at the “Henry Cavill is the best man to play Arthur Morgan in a Rdr2 show/movie”articles.
No he isn’t.
Roger Clark is Arthur. He played the Arthur we all fell love with one way or another. Why give that role (hypothetically) to someone else?
I know there is no TV show or movie but why does anyone want to farm out the roles to other people when we already have people who did our blorbos justice? I couldn’t imagine anyone else giving Charles the nuance he has, giving Dutch the complexity or Sadie those equal parts powerful yet broken. I can’t imagine anyone making me hate Micah to my core or making me feel as devastated as I did when Sean died.
Articles like that just slaps the whole cast in the face by saying “here’s the real actors we’d use”. We already had real actors who poured their hearts into the characters over the course of years, I don’t need anyone else, thanks.

Okay y’all I been thinking on this for a while now. So as we all know Arthur did have a son named Issac who was the result of a one night stand with a waitress named Eliza. Yet, we do also know that Arthur did visit them for a few days after a couple of months. Tragically we do also know that on one of Arthur’s visits we know that he found two crosses outside and immediately he knew what had happened. We do also know that the perpetrator who robbed them only turned up with ten dollars once the whole ordeal was said and done (which is suspicious). Now the mystery is WHO TF ROBs AND KILLS TWO PEOPLE FOR TEN DOLLARS???
Well I think I figured it out… and it is none other than:
YUP Mary Linton. Everyone’s least favorite thot.
Now stay with me. We all know at this time this bitch Mary had ran off with another man ,even though they made plans to get married, which broke his heart tremendously. So I think right before Mary got married she had second thoughts and went back to Arthur to try to work things out. But to her surprise she found that Arthur had moved on and started a whole ass family with another girl. So out of anger and spite this bitch decides to pull a whole fatal attraction on Arthur’s new bitch which brings me to my ultimate point.
Mary Linton backwards is notniL yraM which makes no sense just like how someone kills two people for ten dollars. Unless you’re a manipulative, disloyal thot like Mary Linton.
