“Excuse me,” I began as I approached the clerk of my favorite tiny hole-in-the-wall bookstore I’d discovered one rainy day, the lithe elderly man smiling up at me. I felt bad about not remembering his name, given my weekly visits to the shop, but his friendliness quickly shooed all worry out of my mind. “Could you help me find something? I’m looking for a good book on ancient Babylon, but i have no idea where to start.”
“Hmm, Babylon…are you a student?” He asked with a smile, curious about my inquest. I shook my head and shrugged with a smile.
“Nope, just curious is all.” He huffed out a chuckle and fixed his glasses that slid too far down his nose, leaving his seat at the counter to guide me to the proper section.

Richard smiled at the cameras flashing before him, nodding at some of them and waving his hand. It was surreal that he was invited to the Oscars, let alone be nominated. He stood alone in the red carpet, waving with his hand while he kept the other in his pocket. The action made his wedding ring glisten from the flash, and he was once again reminded that you weren’t with him in the Oscars red carpet.
