submissions for the second issue of the Ash Tree Journal open TOMORROW, January 31st!
you can see our detailed submission guidelines on our blog, but if you need a quick reminder, follow these rules:
- up to five poems or other works
- feel free to get experimental, we want interesting
- send it in a word document, preferably
- send it to the email address, [email protected]
- include your name, one-sentence 3rd person bio (include the city/country/state where you live), and the titles of your works in the body of the email

Hi everyone!
As we approach the opening for submissions to our next issue on January 31st, we are doing everything we can to publicize! We created a Facebook page which you can find here, and we would love for you to ‘like’ us!
Additionally, for those of you interested in ordering a print copy of our first issue, we put out a link via our Facebook page that should allow you to purchase one via PayPal or credit card. As we mentioned before, shipping can be quite expensive for those living in the U.S., Canada, and Australia.
Thank you so much for your continued support, we are looking forward to reading your submissions for our spring issue!

november’s theme,RECIPE, is broken into two categories: an actual recipe of your own (with an additional blurb for context) or recipe-inspired works (ie. formatted/read like cookbook recipes, etc).
december’s theme is GROWTH. feel free to reflect on the year or write whatever comes to mind surrounding the theme.

SUBMISSION FEATURE: Self-Portrait as a Castrato with Flowers from an Adoring Fan
Hi everyone! We realized belatedly that we incorrectly formatted the line breaks in one of the poems featured in our June issue. Because the initial post has already been reblogged and viewed many times (thank you so much for your support!) we felt that it wouldn’t be the best idea to take all the links down and reupload, so we’re instead giving the piece its own separate post so that it might better reach all our readers on their dashboards.
