Pairing: Loki/Reader

Category: Fluff. Fluff without plot.

Rating: G.

Summary: Loki looks on as you slip into despair over a spilled mug of tea. But then he knows it’s not really about the tea, is it?

Warnings/Notes: Maybe this one is a little bit more autobiographical than my usual Lullabies? My husband broke one of my (many, many) mugs earlier this week and maybe I had to hide myself away and cry my face off because it was just the final straw. Things suck and it’s hard to see any real, actionable way that little people like us can do anything about it, but maybe Loki’s out there keeping an eye on us. Do what you can.

I’ve Got You

He hadn’t meant to do it.

In a way, surely, he wasn’t the one to do it at all. It was Thor. It was always Thor. If it wasn’t his loud excitement, it was his booming anger, or—perhaps most infuriating of all—his childish whininess. That whininess, and the pouting, were all that Loki could think of in the streets with his brother when Midgardian women swarmed them and begged to take pictures with the great and wonderous god. Would they fawn over him the way they did if they knew about the hundred-year strop Thor had thrown late in his adolescence? Surely not.

Seen and Unseen (Loki/Reader Lullabies #237)

Fandom:Marvel/Avengers

Pairing: Loki/Long-Haired Reader

Category: Fluff. Fluff without plot.

Rating: G.

Summary: When you are laid low by one of the most insidious enemies of all of humankind–a bad haircut–can you trust Loki to let it be?

Warnings/Notes: Reader is plagued by a bad haircut in this one, so ostensibly they’re someone who had longer hair and then gets it trimmed but it turns out that it gets trimmed too short. My lovely readers with buzzcuts: I’m so sorry that this one excludes you.

New but Retroactive Reminder for this and all of my fics: I do not, have not, and will not give anyone permission to copy/paste, translate, or otherwise take or modify this story to post it anywhere else. You can find my stories here on Tumblr or under kaeorin on AO3, but nowhere else. This does not apply only to fics which hold this disclaimer–NONE of my works are to be stolen or modified. Additionally, please remember that Liking a post on Tumblr does not increase the author’s exposure. I don’t run your life, but readers should be reblogging the works they like.

Seen and Unseen

You were being absolutely ridiculous, and you knew it. It was just hair. Hair grew back. Your hair, in fact, grew back pretty quickly. This wasn’t that big a deal. So you’d gotten a bad haircut. It happened to everybody at some point in their lives. Hell, you’d gotten bad haircuts in the past, and you’d survived, and you’d gone on to forget all about them. In a few months, this haircut, too, would be far behind you and things would be normal again.

Still. Right now, you couldn’t shake the feeling of being an alien in your own skin.

Pairing: Loki/Reader

Category: Fluff. Fluff without plot.

Summary: It would be easy for you to mourn the loss when Loki’s nightmares drag him out of your bed. Instead, you go to him.

Warnings/Notes: No real warnings here. I hope you had a good weekend. I hope you’re getting good rest.

Until the Morning Light

Loki didn’t get much sleep.

When you pressed him on it, he’d tease you. He’d laugh and caress your cheek and remind you that he was not a mortal man, so of course he did not need nearly as much sleep as your own more delicate form required. He knew exactly which buttons to press to make your temper flare up a little and make you want to prove yourself to him. Then he’d let you pick a fight with him: play-wrestling, or a pillow fight, or a tickle battle, until at long last you’d tired yourself in his arms and let the matter drop altogether.

I just word vomited about love for @grufflepuff-writes-stuff and her stories on AO3, but I need to do it here too.

This series got me through the chaos and uncertainty of the start of the pandemic, and it is my go to when my bipolar flares and I can’t slow down. These stories are warm, and well written, and are just the perfect length to read before bed.

Please, if you are not reading them, go check them out. And please, give Gruff some love.

The Place You Need to Reach (Loki/Reader Lullabies #238)

Fandom:Marvel/Avengers

Pairing: Loki/Reader

Category: Fluff. Fluff without plot.

Rating: G.

Summary: There’s just something about the way Loki touches you.

Warnings/Notes: No real plot to this one, just a series of vignettes about the way touch has changed over the course of your relationship!

New but Retroactive Reminder for this and all of my fics: I do not, have not, and will not give anyone permission to copy/paste, translate, or otherwise take or modify this story to post it anywhere else. The Place You Need to Reach

There was something about the way he touched you.

He held back for a long time. That wasn’t really a surprise. Loki had always kept to himself. Many of the Avengers did, but he was always especially closed-off. You’d always done your best to try to make him feel welcome, but you never really expected anything in return. It was like you were trying to make up for the neutral-to-chilly welcome he’d received from the rest of the team. For a long time—too long—the others saw no point in even trying to hide their distaste for the man. That made you uncomfortable. He didn’t want to be here any more than the others wanted him here, but it wasn’t like he had a choice. So you walked the line: You worked to be as warm and welcoming as you could be without overdoing it. It didn’t take a genius to know that he wasn’t used to kindness.
