BEST SCENE EVER

How could I not post this

You know what really gets me about this whole scene? Past all the effects and the directing and the music, is what it says about Peter’s character.

Like, the guy just got here. He just strolls up looking for Xavier, and here’s the school blowing up in front of him. And he just runs into it and starts extracting people one by one. Thirty-plus people and a dog. He doesn’t even leave the fish behind. He saves them all, just because he can.

And it’s not easy, you can tell. For all his goofing off, he’s rushing. He’s REALLY pushing himself, and more than once the explosion very nearly catches up to him, or takes people before he can get to them. He’s probably going faster and for longer than he’s ever done before. This man has never been a “hero”, he has no training and has sworn no pledges. He’s just a really fast guy who sees people about to die and goes, nope. Gotta fix this.

I don’t know why that means so much to me. It’s just, it says so much about the guy that even before he’s on any world-saving team, he saves dozens of lives in an instant, because dammit, he just happens to be there at the right time.
