This is my prompt for the @spdrabblebomb for the prompt Memory!

I had a lot of fun writing this one. I went an entirely different route with my writing style and I have to admit it was pretty hard for me but I think out of everything I’ve written this one may very well be my favorite.

Anywho, if you’d like the link here it is! https://archiveofourown.org/works/13824321/chapters/34706177

Nichole was always happy when the spring time came, but now she is thinking about how the winter became her favorite time of year.

Specks of pinks and orange painted the sky with a vibrancy that she could never see any place else. Colors popping up from the mountains as the sun slowly set behind it. The warmth of the sun disappearing along with it replacing it with the cold that settled itself in Nichole’s bones. Slowlying closing her eyes she took a deep breath that filled her lungs with the cool scent of winter snow, a smell that never quite left this small town, and exhaled it into a puffy warm breath that danced in the air until it faded into nothingness.

It was part of what made winter her favorite season.

Everyone had always assumed that her favorite season was Spring, and once upon a time ago, there would have been truth to that statement. Seasons change though, and as the seasons change, so do people, and Nichole was one of those people who changed.

Awww, what a sweet pairing! It’s one I don’t usually see, but I always like to see how people characterize the girls, especially one like Red who doesn’t have much to speak of in the canon. I’m glad you utilized her and I really liked the dynamic you gave them. It felt cozy and warm, and it was a nice contrast to the weather/season you chose to connect them with. Thank you for writing!

In fifteen minutes, Craig had watched his whole life die.

This is a drabble for Quarter Rests, which is my side project detailing small scenes from within the Halfway universe that either lead up to or fall between the cracks of the present time in that fanfiction. It was written using the prompt “Memory” for the May 2018 South Park Drabble Bomb. This one should prove self-explanatory, but this drabble won’t make a lot of sense without knowing the source. Read Halfway here, and read this chapter of Quarter Rests here on AO3. Enjoy!

The rush to the hospital had taken too long. South Park had been reduced to exactly one ambulance, and there was no way to get around that it could only hold one bed. They’d taken Richard first, who had already fallen unconscious, with a hysterical Helen by his side. Craig stayed with Tweek, and if it hadn’t been an indicator that Tweek would survive the night, some of him wished he hadn’t taken so long to pass out too.

“Where’s Dad,” Tweek mumbled, getting woozier by the moment, and he blinked his eyes very slowly. They were glossy and dilated, and his entire body was burning up. Craig had him in an armchair and was on his knees in front of him, having taken both his arms in his own. He gripped Tweek’s forearms tightly. Tweek’s hands were trembling in his lap.

“They took him to the hospital baby, he’s okay,” Craig said, his voice hushed and soft and hurried. His heart was racing, his lungs collapsing, his mind gone blank except for the determination that he had to keep Tweek in the present, right now, and he had no time to waste otherwise. “They’re taking care of him. They’re coming for you too, okay? They’re gonna make you better baby, I promise-”

Craig’s trying to keep it together, he really is.

This is sort of a prequel to my previous drabble, ex.

The piece for Ex was moving in its execution and this is a lot more of the same! There were several stand-out lines that I appreciated that really emphasized just how much Craig is struggling to be a new, single parent, but that he still wants to make it happen for the baby’s sake. His love for her is genuine and very sweet. I appreciate that this isn’t the perfect happy ending to parenthood for them, to subvert a lot of popular tropes. Thank you for writing!
