the bravest writers are the ones who make granny characters in scifi and fantasy solely for the sake of having grannies i think there needs to be more old ladies who Fight and Kill

not only because i like the concept of badass oldladies and the destruction of the concept that all girl characters have to be sexually appealing to the audience bc thats fucking annoying as shit, there is literally Nothing funnier than the concept of a granny with a massive sword or death laser. she pinches ur cheek lovingly and then saws someone in half. amazing

This charming War Boy is Belt. I drew him right before Tumblr’s guidelines for mature content changed, and his page has sat untouched in my computer ever since. Until now!

the final prompts from Inktoberwatch were “favorite Offense, Defense, Tank, and Support in a halloween costume”  and instead I was like FINALLY TIME TO DO THE CROSSOVER I’VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT but then I was super rushed, it was too ambitious for the time I had, I wanted to do more characters, Roadhog isn’t my favorite tank….

long story short I wanna do more with this concept when I get the chance, haha.  Needs more Pharahosa.

Is this aboue Mad Max?

[ID: Interview except from the book ‘Blood, Sweat, and Chrome’ by Kyle Buchanan. It reads, “Harrison Norris: For our blacked-out War Boy eyes, we used this really thick MAC eyeliner, and at the end of the day, we got to the point that we stopped trying to get it off the inside of our eyes. It was impossible, so we gave up and lived in guyliner for eight months, and the funniest thing was that as we got toward the last two or three months, we’d start seeing all the locals in town– the guys who had nothing to do with performing or being War Boys– were wearing guyliner as well. We accidentally glam rocked the shit out of that place.” End ID.]

After several decades of hemming and hawing in the face of the evidence that movies about female heroes and/or starring more than one woman can be financially successful, I suspect that Wonder Woman finally was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Before Wondy, we had the moderately successful Ghostbusters: Answer the Call; coming next year, we will be #blessed by Ocean’s Eight. However, the thing about the latter two films, both reboots of previously all-male franchises, is that they are movies where the gender of the protagonists is incidental. That’s why it’s possible to reboot them with women; there’s no reason a lady can’t bust a ghost or rob a casino as effectively as a dude.

But of course Hollywood can never get it quite right, and now The Powers That Be have predictably got ahead of themselves by confusing incidental and intentional gendering in lady-led reboots.
