Sir Frank Bowling, a Guyana-born British contemporary painter, moved to England at the age of 19 to complete his education. He studied at the Chelsea School of Art and won a scholarship to London’s Royal College of Art. Pictured: Elder Sun Benjamin.
His paintings have been shown in numerous exhibitions in the United Kingdom and the United States. On May 26, 2005, he was elected a member of England’s Royal Academy of Arts – the first Black artist to be elected a Royal Academician in the history of the institution.
