Ok so Manchester Orchestra was fucking amazing. Seriously, Andy Hull brings passion to music live in an amazing fashion.
But what I wanted to talk about was this guy in the last picture, he didn’t smile the entire gig, just stood there motionless with this bored look on his face, bare in mine we were right at the front so the music was blaring into his face, still nothing.
I had a chat with him and the girl he was with and my hunch was correct, they were boyfriend and girlfriend and he hates this type of music, that’s a good boyfriend, I mean not a great one, cause he doesn’t like Manchester Orchestra, but still a good boyfriend, willing to stand through that entire thing so that his girlfriend can enjoy herself.
So yeah super glad I went.

Went to see Blink-182, Manchester Orchestra and My Chemical Romance at Jiffy Lube Live (I still feel weird saying that… I think I’m just going to keep calling it Nissan) earlier tonight.
Manchester Orchestra: Spectacular. Not gonna lie, missed half of the set (the Honda Civic Tour apparently doesn’t mess around with show times – they said it would start at 7 p.m., and it started at 7 p.m.). But the half we caught was outstanding. Clean and crisp and grimy (in that Manchester Orchestra way).
My Chemical Romance: Not bad at all, but the sound mixing was horrendous. All we could hear was bass. I didn’t realize they were playing “Helena” until halfway through the song.
Blink-182: They played “Josie,” so I’m happy. I’m also happy because the rest of the set was so damn good (except for the absence of “Carousel”). I mean, it’s Blink! They would have had to mess up terribly to make me think it wasn’t the perfect show. And I thought the set list was paced well – good mix of old and new. Maybe a few too many songs off of the self-titled, but no real complaints here.
