Though this slug doesn’t have a common name, its scientific name “rosannulata” means “rose-colored rings,” a nod to its pink or orange donut-shaped patterns.
Melibe slugs are known for the big, expandable hood on their faces that help them catch plankton. This species in particular is also known for having a watermelon-like scent.
