In the middle of cooking lunch, you hear rustling from behind you. You weren’t too interested in looking; it was probably Mark trying to find a snack before you finish eating. But the rustling doesn’t stop, and you’re curious. You turn around, and see your husband putting a mug into the microwave and the box of your baking ingredients out.

“Mark? What are you making? Lunch is almost ready.” Mark turns to look at you sheepishly like a child caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

“Mug cake. I found a recipe.” You raise and eyebrow and the corner of your mouth twitches.

“Well, I’m sure you’ll have a great time having cake for lunch.” Mark almost immediately whines, walking around the kitchen island and pulling you toward him with his grubby, batter-y hands. “Yah, get off me, I’m cooking on the stove.”

“(Y/N), my love, the light of my life,” he whines, drawing out each syllable, “my honey-bunches, the Juliet to my Romeo-”

“Juliet killed herself.”

“Semantics. But my love, I’m sorry, please let e eat,” he pleads with a twinkle in his eyes.

You roll your eyes, pushing him away with the butt of your wooden spoon. “Love you too, dork. Don’t whine to me when your stomach hurts.”
