LIVE

One of my favorite commissioned projects I got to work on this year. HP asked me to create coloring pages that centered around diversity and inclusion. They gave me 100% creative freedom to do what I wanted and paid me well to do it. Download the free pages here.

It is so important to see color because every color has power and meaning. From a young age we assign certain behavior to particular colors without realizing that it is harmful and something we must unlearn. For this reason, I will always put black women and girls at the center of my work. I understand that dark skin is far too often devalued, misrepresented, and overlooked.

bisexualpiratequeen:

Look. It’s simple. I will play a lot of games that don’t do this BUT if you let me play a woman or nb character AND you let me be bi or gay I will love the game a LOT more

I never thought about death,

And life was never easy to think of

Always stuck in the middle

Just let my thoughts consume me

For once when I saw her suffer

On the hands of a man

I wished to die, I wished for peace

But when I saw that small angel

His fragile structure

In the hands of his mother

I desired for life, I desired love

But by the end of the day

I had seen and heard too much

All wanted was to

Never let the darkness consume me

Never let the light capitulate me

Just with a company

I let this life lead me where my fate lies.

Why is it that whenever you talk about a racism, racist white folks wanna completely remove race from the conversation?

They’ll go up and down the street talkin’ about Black welfare queens, those “Latino” immigrants and how Asians are bad drivers, but as soon as a Black man gets shot by a white police officer they wanna pretend like race is irrelevant.

“This issue isn’t white and black! You’re just race baiting because you hate white people!”
“Bu… bu… but you’re ignoring the facts! Just look at that n*****r’s criminal record!”

UMMM, EXCUSE ME?

Since you wanna play detective so badly, why WOULDN’T you consider race? Race is ALWAYS relevant! It matters when you apply for a mortgage, fill out a job application, create an online dating profile, donate sperm, adopt a child, try to get a taxi cab in New York City, fill out a Census form, apply to an Ivy League college, shop for makeup, shop for action figures that look like you, and it especially matters when you’ve been shot by a cop.

Shit, even after the cop shoots you in the head he still has to fill out a form and specify what race you were.

It matters more than you will ever imagine and the instant, the EXACT FUCKING SECOND that you suggest that we ignore race, you automatically paint yourself as a bigoted asshole worth nothing more than a room temp PBR and a twenty dollar tattoo of Keith Urban on your lower back.

Your failure to see race does not mean it doesn’t exist. Race relations and ethnic studies are a REAL thing. There are college textbooks written about it, movies and memoirs dedicated to it and, if you really want an obvious and explicit explanation, you can buy a paperback book written by DOCTOR Cornel West titled, “Race Matters.”

BECAUSE IT DOES MATTER!

Race IS a factor and to ignore it means you ignore the facts. You ignore not just who people are, but why they became that way. Sorry to spoil your salisbury steak dinner but Black people do experience America differently than everyone else. White people experience it differently as do Asians. You cannot get up from the dinner table forty-five minutes earlier than everyone else and say, “well, I think it’s time we clean up!”

NO, ASSHOLE!

People have a lot more on their plate than you do and just because you don’t have problems doesn’t mean you get to ignore ours.

Whether or not penis size matters, it is a major source of anxiety among men. In Unhung Hero, Patrick Moote explores his own insecurity — and whether or not he can grow what nature gave him.
